Good luck to this weekend's racers - masters hope you have better luck than last time. And good luck tulip if you're lurking. drno good luck on Sunday, am sure you'll blast your target (and good luck resisting the bacon sarnies). fanny is your half this weekend (am working from the original thread list) ? good luck if so, am sure you'll take those hills on and win (against them, probably not the whole race).

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 18:45

Dr No are you calling me a domestic slut???
bonkers not nosy at all - we have a no secrets policy in this house - DP carried both of them (I did try back in 2008 but it didn't work out for me) - it's much more common for one partner to have the bio children than for them both to - why I don't know...

having crowed about lack of injury when running around with my dead toes today I felt a kind of fizzing pain on my right foot (along the metatarsal) which has been twingy on and off today. I blame the cumulus (or are they nimbus, can never remember) - so I think I am going to donate them to DP for her fitness jag and go back to shoes that I know work for me...

MoshiMoshi · 18/11/2011 18:54

Methinks peach might be busy with DD2. There has been no word from her on FB either... Hmm

Found out DS's place at his Super School has been offered to another boy who failed to get in at 7+ and 8+. He is a nice boy who was at DS's pre-prep so it is lovely but somehow very sad for me. Why is that? Maybe because it is confirmation it is all happening. It is definitely time to get out of here and get started with our new lives!

Had slight shin niggle so went for a massage with my lovely physio and one knotted calf less I am feeling much better and up for my 9M fartlek run tomorrow!

If you think I sound Californian now, just you wait till I get out there gals. And you are all coming with me so you can't escape my clutches Grin!

MoshiMoshi · 18/11/2011 19:18

Happy birthday to your DS monkey. I cannot imagine the pain you must endure living with every day with the loss of his twin. You are stronger than me.

I was thinking about your situation, squix, as I cooked tea for the squids. It is so sad isn't it when we reach milestones and corners which acknowledge certain stages in our lives. For you it is coming to terms with the fact you may not conceive another DC. For me it was sad to pack up the baby stuff, I think because it was such a special point in my life becoming a parent, realising that this was what life is all about, and having my parents both alive and well with me. I now feel like that was such a long time ago when my dad was around for me to call him and talk to him about stuff. But that is the inevitable circle of life. I decided that is why old folk are so wise, because they have come to realise what it is all about and the sadness that comes with the fullness of age and loving those around.

orangeLFDThead · 18/11/2011 19:18

Well hope peach not being evil and teasing us. Hope everything good peach.done and off for bath and Brew. Then dh off to get us a chinese and dvd.

orangeLFDThead · 18/11/2011 19:19

That should of been 'intervals done' [I know I typed the word interval or am I going mad]

DrNortherner · 18/11/2011 19:33

rhet not calling you a domestic slut honest Grin

Hope peach is well, hoping to hear fabulous new very soon, a brand new baby Smile

Moshi know what you mean about wiseness. As you know I lost my beloved Dad too, and i miss his wise counsel every single day. He was such a wise, calm man. Nothing phased him, ever. Which I guess being married to my Mother was a blessing, but that a whole new thread for Rhet and I Wink I reailsed the other night that even 2.7 years after his death he is still the last thing on my mind every single night.

Life throws us curve balls sometimes and i guess it's how we deal with them that matters, but to come out the otehr end and still be positive and smiling, well that's something I know my Dad would want for me, and yours too Moshi I bet. So get to San Fran and bloody smile Smile

peachLFDTsmuggler · 18/11/2011 19:42

Am here! Currently sitting on bedroom floor with 2 pads on, on top of sleeping mat, and bath towel. Niagra bloody Falls!! Had sweep at 12.30, then took DD to swimming lessons with DP. Came home knackered and got into bed and woke just after 6 with waters going!!! Luckily had sleep mats on matress. The floor has not fared so well. Poor DP has been running round with a scrubbing brush and bucket for last hour!!! Called midwife and she said cos waters are clear then I don't need to go in. She's going to call me in morning if contractions haven't started by then to discuss what to do. Will have to be induced by Sunday if nothing happening. Last time my waters broke at 8pm and contractions started at 6am next day so we'll see. My sister gets here at 10pm tonight so hopefully will hang on at least till then!!!

Good luck to our racers this weekend, Master, Tulip (are you there??) and DrNo. oh and Fanny is too eh?

Just also wanted to send extra unmumsnetty hugs to Monkey and squix, both lovely ladies and legends of the thread.

Other than DP you are the only ones who know!!!!

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 19:43

squix we were also at that place too - for a whole range of reasons, so I know how it feels - we actually did get rid of some baby stuff

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 18/11/2011 19:45

Peach, exciting, it's go go go! Remember to chant LFDI throughout labour!

monkey and squix, thinking of you today.

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 19:46

ooh, peach how exciting!! DP seemingly has to have a sweep at 39+6 if nothing doing by then. She is a bit Hmm as no-one even suggested this with dd1...

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/11/2011 19:46

peach Smile best of luck

peachLFDTsmuggler · 18/11/2011 19:49

Yeah I think it depends on the hosp Rhet, and what midwives you are under. I guess cos 40 for your DP is a Sat they thought they'd do on a Friday!

Am going to attempt to get in shower and let rest of it run out before destroying anymore carpet. DD wants me to go downstairs and watch Scooby Doo. Hmmm, at least it is floorboards down there!

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 19:58

given that our threads seem to last about 10 days, it seems safe to assume that peach's dd will be born on the next one; mine, maybe, maybe not...depends how chatty you all are!

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 18/11/2011 20:00

Yes peach finally we have a running baby about to be born and may even be born on the eve of Conwy Cockwatch!! GrinWink. Seriously, you're in my thoughts and good luck. Enjoy it all, I love giving birth and I'm very Envy! Take care.

Moshi i imagine it's all a bit bittersweet for you. You know you have to move but deep down, it's a huge loss to you to go. You'll love SF I'm sure. I've been four times and it's definitely my favourite city in the world. You embrace it as you do everything else. Yes, very sad that you can't talk things over with your dad. Sad

Same for you DrNo. Bless you, it's must be so hard with having to deal with your mum and your lovely dad isn't there as a support. Do you mind me asking, how did he cope with her? Re Asics marathon - no email for me either so we can concentrate of the Blackpool half!! We definitely must meet up before it. Seeing as you talked me into doing it... Wink

Foot killing me tonight, have a feeling it's from the downhill runs, it's not bad but I'm hobbling. It's fine when I'm running though.. ConfusedHmm

DrNortherner · 18/11/2011 20:01

I'm excited!!!!! Grin

Positive LFDT thoughts heading your way peach Smile

fannybanjo · 18/11/2011 20:03

I was going to request if I could start new thread and the title but maybe I shouldn't.... Blush

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 20:06

fanny go for it!

OP posts:
DrNortherner · 18/11/2011 20:06

fanny my Dad manged my Mother by basically waiting on her hand and foot, listening to her moan and whine about her mostly made up problems, having a job to go to and being a local councillor and on various different committees which meant he was a very busy man and out of the house alot.

this is my dads obituary I am v proud he was mine Smile

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 20:09

DrNo that's a lovely thing to have :)

OP posts:
futurity · 18/11/2011 20:12
