oh and monkey if you're about - I did the level 2 shred before lunch Shock Shock Shock. Dear God in heaven, it's a new form of torture. Our Jills does say at one point "I want you to feel like you're going to die". Fair play to her though, she did look quite puffed herself by the end of it.

fannybanjo · 18/11/2011 14:23

squix sorry to hear that. However can I also say that having suffered infertility myself, as soon as I got rid of all baby gear, I was pregnant with DD2! You never know.

Stepford wife with a vicious tongue. DH just came in with two of his friends who live in Liverpool and started running. I've just bored them to death with Garmin talk. Their version of a hill is Great Homer Street in liverpool (a gentle incline)I laughed! Cocky twat me.... GrinBlush. Must stop being a know all.

fannybanjo · 18/11/2011 14:23

8 duvet covers and 16 pillowcases ironed.

stickyLFDTfingers · 18/11/2011 14:37

you're a better woman than I, Fanny Banjo!

orangeLFDThead · 18/11/2011 14:38

Glad you got an apointment monkey
Rhet regarding shred you might need slighter lighter weights than what you normally use. I started off with the weights I normally use but with the cardio bits I found it too much but ok when I went down a bit.
Sonic you have a cinderalla dress in adult size?
Hat my kids also seem perplexed at me doing races that there is no way I can win, it's all so black and white to them and well done to dd
Yes will vote for both of you DrNo and fanny.
Glad things are going well moshi and falling into place.
Goals next year hopefuly to get pregnant and just do what I can running wise, so a bit hard to make any plans. But would like to finally do parkrun sub 30.
I'm only 5.2 and about 9 and 1/2 stone. Would like to get just under 9 st but does not seem to be happening. My diet pretty healthy and my treats are treats ie not every day. But I do love my food. My legs are slim and bum is very tiny then my stomach just balloons Blush.
Have ds1 off today as he has the runs again. Was supposed to be at work and can't really afford to be off plus we short staffed at mo. I rang my mum to see if she could have ds1 she said no as she meeting a friend for lunch, thanks mum. But have played on wii fit with ds1 most of the day, does that count? Ds1 apparently has a fitness age of 40 Blush
Going to go to gym tonight when dh gets home to do some intervals.
Hope the sweep went ok peach

orangeLFDThead · 18/11/2011 14:41

Sorry your feeling blue squix

monkeyLFDTwench · 18/11/2011 14:42

I run an iron over duvet covers (they don't look right otherwise) but not sheets - my MIL thinks this is disgustingly slovenly.

sticky did my usual level 1 today, but tried a bit more Natalie. It's getting easier, but I guess that's the point I could use bigger weights or go to level 2. I do love it though. I can feel the changes already, and I agree with Jillian (my new BFF) that we are capable of pushing our bodies harder than we know.

squix hugs to you, it's a milestone getting shot of the baby stuff.

Today is a sad day for me too, nine years exactly since I was holding ds1 and his twin for the first time Sad. I keep thinking how much life has changed since that day, which was honestly the lowest point in my life. But ds1 has done brilliantly considering how grim the prognosis was just before the birth, and I'm incredibly lucky he is happy and healthy and that we were able to give him two more brothers. We have a birthday tea for him later. And of course the ds3d!

stickyLFDTfingers · 18/11/2011 14:49

monkey that is so sad, it must be hard each year.

I was going to say hope your DS1 loves his DS3D - but of course he will! DD2 keeps telling me about how she wants a DS for Christmas, and I tell her about writing to Santa and being good - all the while knowing it's at the bottom of my wardrobe Grin tee her! It gives me such a warm glow!!

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 14:50

seems like I am the heaviest 5'2" woman on this thread by some margin! moshi is a full 2 stone lighter than me! no wonder she is so speedy - I reckon even I could move a bit faster minus the weight of DD1! I don't think I'd be healthy at 8 stone, though...

DD is all grumpy with herself because she had an accident at nursery - her key worker doesn't work Fridays, so I think she wasn't sure who to ask...poor love

OP posts:
squix · 18/11/2011 15:00

monkey - big hugs back to you too and a very happy birthday to ds1

sticky, fanny - even pillow cases are beyond me - DH says I'm the least tidiest person he knows. When I was at college one of my house mates was amazed at the rug I had on the floor of my room - she hadn't seen it in the 2 years we lived together and it was only revealed the day we all moved out. (Fanny - student house in Wavertree (not too bad) and then Toxteth (lovely old house, but grim, grim street) - my poor parents dropping me off there - the house in toxteth burnt down about 5 years after we moved out!)

I still have Jillian in a draw......I might have to invest in some hand weights and make friends with her and Natalie.

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 15:05

monkey and squix virtual hugs for you both; anniversaries and transitions can be very hard

um, I never iron anything if I can avoid it - in the halcyon days when we could afford a cleaner, she used to iron for us, which was wonderful - but not so wonderful that I can be arsed to do it!

OP posts:
Hatwoman · 18/11/2011 15:10

Blush trying to work out what ds3d was ... dear step 3rd daughter... nahhh.

rhetorician · 18/11/2011 15:12

hat hope you have a great trip! is this the Ethiopia trip? spiritual home of runners, along with kenya!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/11/2011 15:29

hello apologies for failing to properly keep up, but you are all wonderful and forgivingWink

monkey big hug, can scarcely imagine the pain
squix another hug, my one and only is 6 and only last year did I give a way the light stroller and assorted other baby goodies, I am 42, nearly 43 and have stopped trying a couple of years back, never easy but deciding to move on helps.

hat enjoy

fanny I am a very poor housekeeper in that respect, ironing is on a must only basis, added to my lower standards, MIL even irons underwear, caught dh doing that once and threatened divorce, he claimed absent mindedness Hmm

moshi it is your prerogative, I firm dose of English sensible attitude with Californian can do is probably a good mix
glad house stuff and assorted important details are falling into place

I have spend 2 days at the business event and I think I got a lot of useful information, some of it unexpected, I left feeling more positive but also with an enormous to do list to digest

regarding weight I am nearly 5.5 but far too heave for my own good, the fittest time was before conceiving dd, my doctor wanted to put me on Atkins on account of my PCOS, I did not but went faily low carb and did lots of exercise, since dd it has not been very steady, not only did I put on a lot (4stone) but never lost all of it.

as I said this year felt very marking time and not going anywhere, I needs to set proper goals and move my arse both in running and in business

sfxmum · 18/11/2011 15:30

and a couple of pens from event Hurrah

monkeyLFDTwench · 18/11/2011 15:34

Rhet I can promise you, I will be the heaviest. People re always astonished when I tell them - I'm genuinely very very heavy, not flabby just heavy. It must be me heavy ole bones!

When I had an op a few years back just before I had had ds3 I put my weight on the pre-op form and the anaesthetist refused to believe it. She made me weigh myself then called all the other medical staff in to look! And I was 2.5 stone lighter then and really at the slimmest I could be without looking gaunt.

bonkersLFDT20 · 18/11/2011 15:35

rhet Did you have your DD1 then, and your DP's having baby 2?
(hope I'm not prying). It must be really cool to compare the experience.

Or maybe I just misunderstood your comment about carrying DD1's weight.

monkeyLFDTwench · 18/11/2011 15:38

Yay for those pens sfx!

When is Ethiopia hat? Now you've said that I've got Ethiopia by the Chili Peppers stuck in my head, E-I-O-I-E-I-A .... My boys love that song!

bonkersLFDT20 · 18/11/2011 15:49

I am 5'7" and weigh around 9 stone.

The max I've ever been (apart from pregnancy) is about 9 1/2, after living in Germany and living a party life (no responsibilities, earning money...).

The lowest I've been is just over 8 and that was 1) after a 3 months trip to India where I didn't realise I was losing weight just through general digestive changes and 2) following stressful pregnancy and early months with DS2 and the death of my Mum.

Oh, breastfeeding does it for me as well.

I don't look good at less than 8 1/2 but I freak out if I go over 9.

orangeLFDThead · 18/11/2011 16:12

Thats so sad monkey, I can't imagine how hard it must be.
Ah poor thing Rhet.
Hat ds3d or 3DS

stickyLFDTfingers · 18/11/2011 16:30

I was just looking at the MN round-up, and it doesn't have anything as funny as bonkers mishap. It popped into my head when mopping the kitchen floor this morning. Oh how I laughed again! You're good value, Bonkers!

Shredders - how heavy are your weights? I was thinking I should go heavier, so weighed the ones I've got. They seem to be about 860g each Confused which seems an odd weight and also a lightweight.

orangeLFDThead · 18/11/2011 16:40

Mine are 2kgs each. I was using heavier ones for level 1, only because they were the only ones I had and only just managed but when I looked at level 2 realised it would be stupid to use them so got some 2kg ones

stickyLFDTfingers · 18/11/2011 16:59

Thanks Orange! I've added some 2kg ones to my wish list now! My family will think I've become some sort of fitness demon. Then they'll look at me :) ah, maybe not!

So we've not heard from peach all day? ??? ?????

Have we not heard from M&M for a bit too? I hope you're OK M&M and good luck tomorrow if you're running.

Wheelybug · 18/11/2011 17:29

Happy birthday to ds1 monkey . It must be very hard for you especially as it's also a celebration. Hugs to you.

Hugs to you squix - what a hard point to reach. We were almost there at one point but were one of the lucky ones.

Ooh yes, where is Peach...

DrNortherner · 18/11/2011 17:58

monkey big hugs to you darling. It must be bitter sweet seeing your ds reach his 9th b'day, whilst of course always remembering your ds who didn't make it. I hope you get some quiet time to reflect.

Squix I've been there too, getting rid if the baby stuff is I suppose outwardly saying 'That's it, there will be no more'. I have only 1 ds and have beaten myself up over the fact I haven't given him a sibling (being a only myself thrown other issues into the mix) for various reasons, but he is 9 now, and I know so many people struggling to conceive at all that I have learnt to count my blessings Smile

hat so you are off for altitude training, well look at you getting all serious and bringing the thread back to the issue in hand Smile Come back and tell us all about it.

moshi I love the fact that you sound so Californian. You are such a fountain of knowledge and very supportive and encouraging of us all I think you should consider a career as a personal trainer. I'd hire you!

Re ironing I am another domestic slut and would never stand and iron duvet covers and pillow cases, in fact I purchase clothes based on how much ironing things require......

debi how is the shin pain now? When my shin splints were at there worst I did circuits, boxercise and Spin. I told the circuit woman and I just did squats instead of sprints. Cross trainer will be better than treadmill. Also, if you can afford buy some shin supports, this helped my last injury no end.

RW have emailed the long listed candidates for the 26.2 competition today and I haven't got an email, so am not running a marathon in 2012 after all Grin
