rhet I was an utter name snob. I had Villeroy and Boch cutlery for fucks sake. I do laugh my tits off now but at the time, at 27, it's what you did in Scouseland. I'm more Ikea in Cheshire. Honestly though, my taste ain't that bad!

Oh. Dear. Mother. Of. God. A baby mouse cremated. I hope it was by DUALIT.

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:57
rhetorician · 14/11/2011 22:03

well I hope not Dualit as toaster is now in the bin...

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 22:03

And the irony of my post re cutlery was that I actually lived in Wales and I don't think anyone knew what Ikea was never mind Villeroy and Boch. No wonder DH refused to live in Liverpool, he knew I'd go into overdrive.

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 22:08

too true fanny - My Mum and Dad went to stay in a B&B in N Wales which had been my great (or something) grandfather's house and Dad used to go and stay when he was a kid. He was dead impressed that it now had connected water and electricity!

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 22:12

sticky I say this with hand on heart honesty, the highlight of my 4 years living in North Wales was being flashed at by two young lads on a run through a really deserted lane. Where most women would have ran off in shock and fear, The Fanny laughed. Cos they were the most pitiful knobs I've ever had the misfortune to see and hence, I have no high expectations of Conwy Cockwatch.

monkeyLFDTwench · 14/11/2011 22:13

Im imagining that mouse would have flung itself willingly into the toaster if it was a Dualit .....

Poor DH. He thought Tena was my usual brand of jumbotastic sanitary towels. I made him do the Shred tonight as a punishment. He started out laughing until he realised we were only doing the warm up - he wasn't laughing 10 minutes later Grin.

fanny I like ready mash! I make everything else from scratch, honest, but I have a phobia of boiled potatoes. My roasties and yorkshires are pretty good though . Did you have a Porsche coffee maker?

Rhet I'm planning to do either Chester again or Dublin - do it do it do it!

debi good luck to your friend. I never went overdue. Ds1 was prem, ds2 and 3 were on time (thank goodness as they were both pretty large).

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 22:17

Can anyone enlighten me to The Shrek DVD please? I want it. wench it depends where ready mash was bought... If it was Waitrose or M&S then YANBU. It it was Spar then you need to cut your tongue out with a blunt knife. Our coffee maker was Miele with a warming drawer underneath it. And we had a warming drawer underneath the microwave too. Hmm. The kitchen designer saw us two mugs from 20 miles away didn't he?

orangeLFDThead · 14/11/2011 22:20

Monkey I have to agree with fanny I dont like ready made mash. How can you have a phobia of boiled potatoes? I do love my roasts, I could just eat a big plate of them till I burst. Infact I love all carbs, I don't understand how people can do atkins

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 22:20

Fucking hell. I WAS the Princess of Ponce. Shit. MN like therapy.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 14/11/2011 22:23

fanny WTF is a warming drawer? And when you say potato cakes, are they like potato scones or potato fritters, or something entirely different. Either way, I'll have mine with a cremated mouse.

Pmsl at monkey's DH' attempt at shopping.

Rhet, sign up for Dublin NOW, before you get too sleep deprived and drowning in baby chaos!!!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 14/11/2011 22:25

monkey, you're one step away from a tin of Smash, you know that don't you...

monkeyLFDTwench · 14/11/2011 22:26

Ooh but I do love Miele. The mash was from Morrisons, but before you make that slapped arse face at me it wasn't their own brand it was the proper Irish stuff made in a Dublin factory crafted by leprechauns and comely Irish ladies in a homely Caltra farmhouse. Yep, they saw us coming, didn't they?

Google Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I actually think I'm a little bit in love with her Blush.

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 22:27

love shrek dvd - was that intentional? I got my shred one now and am intending to do my first go tomorrow. I watched the level 1 on the poorer yesterday evening (while DD1 was getting all emotional about Audley leaving SCD, bless her (she has good taste Wink) and it looked OK. Jillian's a bit scary tho.

Fanny it's only £5, if you feel like you want...

rhetorician · 14/11/2011 22:29

I think I'd rather watch a Shrek dvd....boiled potato phobia, eh? Not sure if I can sign up yet, but have been googling marathon plans (beginners). But I can do the mileage for most of them for at least the first 8 weeks of a 16 week plan.

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 22:29

monkey has Spam for her Sunday Roast.Wink it's all coming out tonight on this thread.

orange a warming drawer is what dicks like myself buy to warm their plates. The warming drawer under the coffee machine was for warming the cups. I never ever used them. I also had a tap (as well as the Quooker) which dispensed filtered water. Oh my days. It's all making me feel ill.

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 22:30

In love with Jillian monkey? You must have a sub/dom thing going there (following on from fanny's bed there) Wink.

PS I was pleasantly surprised by ready made mash. And it was my Mum that told me about it (and she's an ex home ec teacher and doesn't approve of ready made mince, really!)

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 22:30

Sorry peach not orange! Freudian slip there!

orangeLFDThead · 14/11/2011 22:32

My mum and dad have one of those taps for filtered water

rhetorician · 14/11/2011 22:33

warming drawers - that's what I do when I put DD's pjs on the radiator (PFB? not for much longer )...

OP posts:
orangeLFDThead · 14/11/2011 22:34

Well it was some sort of fruit fanny

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 22:34

Can we move on from my bed now please.... Blush it's never to be mentioned again and I will whip DrNo with my used sweaty thong in Blackpool if she dares even click on the link.

Sorry meant Shred! Can anyone link me to where to buy it. Just so I can buy it and watch it once and add it to my collection of tat.

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 22:36

scary Jillian fanny

monkeyLFDTwench · 14/11/2011 22:38

Nooooo, not Spam! I used to have to eat Spam fritters and lumpy mash for school dinners, hence the boiled potato "thing" so I can only eat mash if it's really smooth! We used to have this evil dinner lady called Mrs Cherry who made you eat your lunch cold - honestly it was so traumatic I didn't eat meat for 30 something years. I've only just jumped off the veggie wagon!
