bonkers I'll have a gander at your pic when I can get on computer.

monkey haha at Fanny roar. I wish I did!

I've taken first steps to join local running club and sent them an email. DH has seen the reply from a bloke and doesn't look too happy. He has no self esteem whatsoever but I've just informed him that it's something he's got to get over. Hard work men sometimes. Hmm. I'm not quite sure what he thinks I'm going to do...

rhetorician · 14/11/2011 20:02

fanny, well for starters I don't think you should tell him about conwy cockwatch Wink

really I think you will be chasing moshi's times with a bit of good advice

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 14/11/2011 20:31

bonkers, N4nny and moshi* well done for your races this weekend.

moshi your house looks lovely. I think you and fanny need to come round and do a grand designs style makeover on our little house.

Ipads ... I would love an Ipad. The sort of thing I would have purchased pre children no problem. Now I need that money for this month's nursery fees. Iphones are definitely a must for new mums. I have some cartoons on mine for DS when we are out and about so that i can have a quiet coffee and he watches Pingu - result!

I went for a really great run yesterday. According to runkeeper it was 4.5 miles but measuring on googlemaps it was nearly 5.5 miles. So did it in 53 mins, and that means an average of under 10 minute miles - hurrah!

The only thing is since I did the track session last week, i have had a really bad shin pain in my left shin. It's not really going away - I think someone mentioned that was a specific type of injury as opposed to one that only comes up when you run - can anyone remind me? Toying with another track session tomorrow night, but I am not so sure, perhaps I should rest my little legs.

Talking of runs, a while ago you were all discussing what you think about when running. I realised yesterday I think about absolutely nothing, just listen to the music. Quite nice to clear my head. Although yesterday on my run I had a very long consideration of if I were to compete in Strictly Come Dancing, which dance would be my best (I concluded I would love to be able to jive). And then which male professional would be best as my partner. Can't stand Brendan Cole, he's an idiot. Anton - too much of a personality in his own right. Vincent - too teeny to lift me up. Eventually concluded James Jordan was the best match.

(I should stress I am not actually a lurking celebrity who stands any chance of appearing on strictly. Plus I can't dance)

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 14/11/2011 20:32

Sorry that was all a bit memememe

sfxmum · 14/11/2011 20:35

monkey what was he thinking? Grin

fanny dh goes to rowing club with a lot of fit young girls, that is the other side of the deal

rhet good to hear always a relief

about ipads all this new gadgets were not around when dd was born, I recall I was reading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, hardback when I went into labour, now that is a huge heavy book and no matter how much I was loving it I could not pick it up to read while BF dd, was terrified I would drop it on her head, possibly not that far fetched given the lack of sleep and weight of the book

rhetorician · 14/11/2011 20:48

monkey I have just told DP your tena lady story and she has wisely said, 'she can just put them in the cupboard till she's old' (I guess she has pelvic floor issues on her mind right now!)

OP posts:
DebiTheScot · 14/11/2011 20:59

lol at the tena lady. Send them this way for when I'm running Blush

cherry that sounds like shin splints and complete rest is the only way to clear them. I've had them a couple of times and am still trying to biuld back up gradually after the last time as I can still feel the odd twinge every now and again. In fact I did tonight while doing the Shred dvd.

Yesterday on my running I was thinking about my brother and s-i-l coming down this weekend and what we would do. Then I had a panic about going anywhere as we won't all fit in the car and he wants to go to Wisley and I'd have to cycle but it's 18 miles each way and that's quite far etc etc.
About an hour after I got home I remembered we've got 2 cars! Blush

Went to see my friend today who is now 14 days overdue. She's going in tomorrow morning for induction but convinced it doesn't want to come out and will be there till Thursday. I feel so sorry for her, she's so fed up and thinking things like that she's a failure because she can't even get a baby to come out Sad. DS2 thought the baby might 'pop out' while we walked through the woods! I thought this would be quite exciting, she wasn't so sure!

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 21:18

LOL monkey your silly DP! He really went for it on the "decoy" purchases - is that his favourite dinner?

cherry I'll consider James Jordam "baggsed" then... leaving Pasha free for me - hooray! Listen to debi tho, if you do have shin splints you do need to stop and let them heal, however frustrating that may be.

Sfx I loved Jonathan Strange, but I think reading it in the middle of the night would have addled my brain! As it was I had some really odd dreams when I was reading it. My choices were altogether lighter!

Fanny i'm so glad to hear that - i think you'll really come on leaps and bounds. Sure your DH must realise that a gorgeous girl like you would have run off long ago if you were going to Wink.

debi your poor friend - is it her first? How :( she's thinking she's a failure. Hope she has baby soon and she'll forget this couple of weeks in a haze of happy sleeplessness...

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:19

monkey (I've upgraded you from wench) - that is hilarious. Why did he buy you them? However, ready made mash - go and wash your mouth out, its bloody nasty stuff!

rhet oh yeah Conwy Cockwatch t-shirt on hold at the press at the printers. May not be a good idea. Bloody killjoy DH. Wink Funnily enough, what makes me laugh is that DH is a handsome bloke and none of the runners I have seen at the club running would come near him. I actually think he just thinks blokes are a bit smarmy and doesn't like the thought of them chatting to me, as I am such a forward, chatty person that sometimes they can think the wrong thing. I am not a flirt in the slightest (he wouldn't put up with that) but I do attract some weirdos. Was funny at last week's race, this older guy was ribbing my scouse accent, DH face was like a slapped arse. He just needs to loosen up a bit. Moshi times are well out of my league Rhet. Never ever ever will I be running a 1.30HM and 3.15Marathon. I am dreaming of a 1.40HM and determined to get there within 12 months and I will. Grin

debi haha at you forgetting you had two cars. Ponce! Wink Your friend will be fine, she will have had the baby by tomorrow night.

cherry now, I have heard some strange thoughts on here re running thoughts but yours take the biscuit! Yes, sounds like shin splints and one of the reasons I am put off lots of speed work as the risk of injury is high. Lay off the track tomorrow, rest them if they start after a normal jog/run.

rhetorician · 14/11/2011 21:21

I think I want to run a marathon

OP posts:
stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 21:26

no, no slapping rhet- LFDT! Which one - Dublin?

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:27

sticky ah bless you sweetheart. I am all embarrassed. Blush

Oh yeah DrNo my old bed - we lived originally in Wales in converted stables, think brick walls and Ralph Lauren bedding, vintage leather chair, sisal flooring - bedroom was gorgeous. Bed was different but so right for the house. I miss my old houses.

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:28

rhet when is the Dublin one? Would you be prepared to pop over the pond and do the Liverpool?

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 21:29

just nosed at the bed - cast iron straps? Oooh err misses Wink

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:30

I still bear the scars sticky....

rhetorician · 14/11/2011 21:35

it's the very end of October - when's Liverpool? yeah, that's a kinky bed alright!! plenty of potential, if you get my drift Wink. What am I doing? why I am talking myself into something I said I'd never ever do? I wonder how many days hours it would take me! fanny would be home by the time I crossed the finish line.

thought for a minute there fanny you were going to ask me if I'd be willing to wear the cockwatch T-shirt - more than my street-cred is worth

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:40

I must be the only innocent on here be because when we bought it 10 years ago, at my prime, no such thoughts entered my head. Dirty bitches you lot. No wonder I'm corrupted on here. I'm off to Style & Beauty . Grin

Beginning of October rhet. G'awn, g'awn, g'awn - get a bit of scouse in ya kidda. Just don't shout "Co'eee Fanny!!!! over 'ere!!!" cos I won't respond! It's Clit to my real life friends ya see.

sfxmum · 14/11/2011 21:41

That bed invited kinkyness
And such demure bedside tables

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:43

I'm changing my name to ClitBanjo

Ah my bed's getting a pasting on MN. Fucking hell. I best not show youse the sex swing we had in the corner.

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:45

I'm flouncing to eat my potato cakes. Bastards.

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:46

which by the way are toasted in my DUALIT toaster. Ponce twat alert.

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/11/2011 21:47

I wonder will any of us get away with not doing a marathon at some point? Once you can do 5k you move to 10, then HM; marathon is the logical next step.

But what then?

It's not easy being goal orientated, y'know.

Fanny that bed is totally Jilly Cooper, you must have noticed 10 years ago!

fannybanjo · 14/11/2011 21:53

Haha sticky we did but it was fab in the house we had! You honestly had to see it! It's not everyone's cup of tea but was defo something when we saw it, had to have. Fucking hate it now, that's why we sold it to the people who bought our house. Grin however our old neighbours are convinced they are swingers so I see a theme here....

rhetorician · 14/11/2011 21:53

fanny I am trying hard to think of anything in my house that has a brand name that isn't mac or tesco. Oh, smeg cooker (12 years old)...I have some fancy fountain pens too.

I'd just remind you that my neighbour toasted a baby mouse with her breakfast this morning...
