Hmm try again.

rhetorician · 13/11/2011 16:08

gorgeous house, moshi. Sadly, like your running paces, way out of my league! hope you get good and careful tenants

OP posts:
MoshiMoshi · 13/11/2011 16:14

Twas a wreck when we bought it 5 years ago, rhet, which makes it all the more sad to leave it as we have had two babies in it and it has grown with us. Sad Anyway, stop limiting yourself by saying you can't run faster. There are no limits to what you can achieve apart from those you set yourself. (DH was reading that over my shoulder when I typed and said, "honey, you are so Californian!" Grin

Bumply · 13/11/2011 16:14

I'm avoiding running for a while to give my groin strain a rest. Did circuit traing yesterday. My arms are still aching, and today I dusted off my bike that's been in the shed for what must be 6 years and went out for a 7 mile cycle. Ace! I'd forgotten how much fun it is. Especially now I'm lighter and fitter so even the uphill bits were lfdt rather than feeling at deaths door. Ended up in some fields at one point which is such a nice surprise when living in a city!

Hope bonkers found her number.

All the best for the imminent births.

Jezabelle · 13/11/2011 16:40

Just did 3.5 and am still on track for my day on, day off up training adding 0.25 each run. My injury is giving achy though Angry.

How did it go Bonkers?

rhetorician · 13/11/2011 17:28

moshi well, you made a beautiful job of it!

OP posts:
rhetorician · 13/11/2011 17:35

I didn't say that I couldn't run faster, just that I'll never be able to run as fast as you! which is true..

OP posts:
futurity · 13/11/2011 17:40

moshi your house is jaw droopingly gorgeous!

sfxmum · 13/11/2011 18:18

hello

apologies for absence too much real life, I will read carefully and catch up later, especially the weekend race reports but for now

peach I am so sorry about your step mum and how lovely you managed to see her. regarding the show good luck hope all is well with you

moshi fabulous job on the house, love the kitchen total fetish of mineGrin
and yes your wonderful can do attitude will go down well in California

peachLFDTsmuggler · 13/11/2011 18:26

Wow Moshi, your house is beautiful, what an amazing job you've done!

Rhet, no no no no no no no no no no, no no there's no limits!!! (except realistically running marathon in 7 min miles!! Wink)

Good work Jez, just watch that injury. Ease off on the number of runs maybe if things don't improve.

N4NNY, I would maybe give your shoes a surface stub rather than the washing machine, you might be surprised how well they come up!

rhetorician · 13/11/2011 20:20

N4NNY thanks for posting that - 'my' hill was bigger, but it was also a longer course with more downhill, so I'd say for distance, probably about the same amount of climbing. You sound like you enjoyed it, anyway!

moshi yes, you did sound a bit Californian there...when are you actually leaving?

OP posts:
rhetorician · 13/11/2011 20:22

just idly wondering if someone somewhere has noticed that this is a very active thread, and that's why those barrington people have their ad up? I looked and then got confused by the hot and cold leggings....

OP posts:
sfxmum · 13/11/2011 20:28

rhet I never see adds, I updated Firefox the other day and suddenly got a shock with all the ads around, have now safely restored the adblocker, so much saner Grin

fannybanjo · 13/11/2011 20:45

Moshi that is one hell of a beautiful house. Envy. No wonder you're gutted to leave it. I know it's very hard as we sold ours 3 years ago and it was a huge 5 bedroomed Victorian House with a kitchen that dreams are made of and we too renovated it from bare brick - had Lutron lighting system like yours, Kohler bathrooms, top of the range everything. DH lost his business when recession hit and house had to be sold and we lost nearly £150,000 on it, we'd only just finished it and lived in it 12 months. Cars went, my lovely jewellery sold. All my handbags went on eBay. We are now living in the first house DH and I bought (and had rented out for years) but you know what, I'm a better person for it. It grounded me hugely. I know this is nothing like what you're having to deal with but ultimately, as long as our little families are ok, nothing else matters. You'll build a great home again. Smile

peach still here then....?! Grin go off and shag DH, that'll get things moving!

I'm doing a hard 10.5 miler tomorrow in prep for HM Sunday. The hill is similar to the one in the Conwy HM. Dreading it.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 13/11/2011 21:12

God, I hope the ads are based on thread title and not content, otherwise were going to get lots of poo related products! Immodium ladies?!?

Fanny, you poor thing, didn't realise you had been through that, you have a great attitude though and your priorities are all right.

Last time had show with DD following night of nookie (and curry?!?) but not sure there's much evidence for causality. Last night when we went to bed DP says "Keep your hands to yourself!! He is terrified by impending birth and being dad again.

liath · 13/11/2011 21:17

Another one with house envy! It's gorgeous, moshi.

Talking of obstacle courses my sister and I just entered the mighty deerstalker 10k. Even better we've pursuaded our dh's to do it too. Ha ha! I took dh out for a run the other day and he started wheezing after a mile. Never mind, we have 4 months to plan our fancy dress train.

fannybanjo · 13/11/2011 21:20

peach thank you, kind of you to say but you know what, as long as we can pay our bills and are happy then anything else is a bonus. I had a great life but it's better now. DH and I value things more. Money can be the root of evil in some ways. You know who your friends are when the shit hits the fan and my parents saved our lives in some ways - we'd have been bankrupt if they hadn't and no home to live in. At one point we were going to have to live with them. Not a great situation but hey ho, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and believe me, your health (as you know) worth more than any house or car. Smile I'm lucky, I'm blessed with a wonderful family, fantastic DH and 3 healthy gorgeous girls.

fannybanjo · 13/11/2011 21:21

liath sorry welcome to the thread!! Where's this 10k then? Sounds like a
Bastard one!

backwardpossom · 13/11/2011 21:23

Ooh liath a few of my pals from the running club did the might deerstalker last year and are doing it again this year. I fancied it, but we're planning on TTC quite soon so didn't want to enter then give up my place should all go well. They LOVED it :)

backwardpossom · 13/11/2011 21:24

Fanny - here

My pals all wore tweed trousers and deerstalker hats at it last year!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 13/11/2011 21:30

Absolutely fanny Smile

liath, that looks hilarious. Can you wear antlers???

fannybanjo · 13/11/2011 21:33

I've just told DH about that deerstalker 10k and he said he'd do it but we can't Sad as I've the Blackpool HM same month... God my life is now planned around races! Could be staying in a friends beautiful house in The Lakes next weekend but I've chosen to do the Conwy HM instead. I'm officially obsessed. BlushHmm

DebiTheScot · 13/11/2011 21:42

So rhet is too intelligant for me and moshi and fanny are too posh (as well as too fast!). Please tell me I'm not the only one who has no idea what a 'Lutron lighting system' or a 'Kohler bathroom' is? Grin

Your house is amazing moshi, I just showed dh it as he was looking at Next online and wondering why there was a "hall furniture" section. I said, "for a house like this" The £1800 a week made us both fall over!

That must have been an awful time for you fanny but it's good to hear how positive you are about it now. I think we all take things for granted far too much (I know I do)

rhetorician · 13/11/2011 21:46

debi I have no idea what those things are either...but fanny is right, the only things that matter are your health, your family, lots of love and just enough money - oh, and time to go running (I've missed out a bit this last week because of work and heavily pg DP and I almost resent my lost mileage! silly, but true)

fanny yep, you're obsessed :o

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 13/11/2011 21:48

Debi posh I most certainly am not!! However house renovator extraordinaire. Wink. Hey I even had a Quooker tap... Google it. Hang on... I was fucking posh. Grin
