Wheely, good luck for day 2! Do they sell musical pottys I wonder to encourage tinkling??? If not, am getting my ass on Dragon's Den with it. I was very taken with the musical toilets in Japan.

Actually maybe also get one that dispenses chocolate buttons also, and you can then take to the sofa and just...let it happen!

rhetorician · 12/11/2011 10:19

peach this is because she has a very cranky scorpio sister and doesn't need another one like that in the family! she grimaced sympathetically when I read her your post. You poor love.

OP posts:
orangeLFDThead · 12/11/2011 10:37

oh peach thinking of you and your family. You sound like you need some rest, take it easy today.
Im sure I have seen musical potty's but dont know where.
Did parkrun this morning (but forgot my card) did 30 mins 29 secs. I then had a coupleof mins rest as I felt like I was going to throw up. Then I did a slow jog home which is about 2 miles. So 5 miles in total.

DrNortherner · 12/11/2011 12:57

Oh peach so sorry for you and your family. Feeling so far away must be awful but you can't do anything about the distance, and you are so heavily pregnant now you need to look after yourself and the baby.

Rhet isn't it funny how on some pics you just don't look like you are running?! I have loads like that from my HM in June - I ran my arse off and in my head I felt like Paula then I saw the pics and it looks like I am having a nice afternoon stroll Grin

fanny I do think you are just a little bit mad, 2 weeks between HM's is nothing at all. Don't burn yourself out lady Smile

I did a very exposed and hilly 8 miler today with SIL and a mate, the hills were bastards, definitely some help me Jesus moments, in fact I did yell out loud on 2 of them Blush They were proper make your glutes hurt like hell hills. And, our average pace was 9mm so I am dead chuffed for a route like that.

Question, I have an apt booked on Weds to give blood, and I am running my 10k on Sunday. Anyone given blood and found it altered their performance at all? Debating if I should postpone my appt.......

orangeLFDThead · 12/11/2011 13:21

I have loads of pics that I dont look like am I running.
I am not really sure drno but I would persume it was probably only the next day or so it would effect you. Also beetroot juice is supposed to be really good to get your blood back up.

bonkersLFDT20 · 12/11/2011 13:34

Hugs Peach
I think you just have to accept what life is going to throw you at the moment and do the best you can. You'll get there.

squix · 12/11/2011 13:47

peach thinking of you and your family

Good look to all the racers this weekend

Did a lovely 10k this morning, glorious sunshine, not particularly speedy but I really enjoyed it.

monkeyLFDTwench · 12/11/2011 13:54

peach we have a musical potty! It's a bit random though, it's meant to giggle and play Twinkle Twinkle when it receives a "deposit" , but we've had it since potty training ds16 years ago and has gone a bit funny. So it sometimes goes off when I'm in the downstairs loo and I look at it funny, which always leads DH to accuse me of having a sneaky wee on it.

DrN I would postpone it. I think the blood volume recovers within 24 hours but not sure about all those red cells - or that may just be me as I tend to anaemia.

I have an eccentric and slightly potty unusually lovely Scorpio - ds1. He is the most lovely boy, very sensitive and caring, but also very strong willed and a bit sort of "other worldly" if that makes sense.

Just did a nice 6 mile hilly run at the football club, they play for a little village team on the edge of the Chilterns so it's about the only time I get good steep hills. The last half a mile is a killer, and unfortunately for me I'm always plodding up it bright red in the face, frothing at the mouth and chanting LFDT as the other parents from school and football club are coming past down the hill in their cars Grin.

Off now to stalk look at rhet's pictures.

DrNortherner · 12/11/2011 14:17

Beetroot juice?

After googling it I will postpone. It takes 50-56 days to make up the red blood cells and as these little blighters are responsible for transporting oxygen round my body it will impact on my performance. I will give blood after my race.

orangeLFDThead · 12/11/2011 14:19

I like beetroot juice

rhetorician · 12/11/2011 14:43

monkey it is of course all utter twaddle...

futurity · 12/11/2011 14:57

flying visit to ask what was that beginners triathlon book someone recommended..it was the one someone read inside out before doing their first tri but I can't remember who it was or what was the book!? Am sorting out my wish list for Xmas :) Thanks!

stickyLFDTfingers · 12/11/2011 15:23

Peach I'm so sorry. It must be a very odd feeling to be so near to giving birth as well. I hope you're OK. And that you sleep better tonight!

rhet I went and nosed at your piccie. It's brilliant! Can see why your DP likes it so much!!

Parkrun this morning. Hmmm, I went a bit mad with the piri piri last night, I think that didn't help matters this morning (much time spent in toilet, to some terrifying sound effects echoing round the bathroom Blush). Could tell I wasn't in PB territory when the guy in the 70+ age category overtook me! 28:51. Disappointing Sad, but I'll do better next week .

Took the girls swimming afterwards, good way to get rid of aches and pains :)

rhetorician · 12/11/2011 15:33

I preferred the other shot, where I actually look like I am running! I look spookily like my mother in this one.

Just had an invite on fb for boxing day 5k. Not sure as it starts at 11. Sorts of messes with the day would be better at 10. Its in stockport if pan and hat is interested. You are Glossop way hat? (Hoping not got you mixed up with someone else)

N4NNY · 12/11/2011 16:28

I'm back posting on my phone so just a quickly will post more later. Run was hard but very good still a slow time but faster than last time so happy.

rhetorician · 12/11/2011 16:35

good for you N4NNY looking forward to hearing all about it! onwards and upwards!

OP posts:
orangeLFDThead · 12/11/2011 16:51

Well done N4NNY

MoshiMoshi · 12/11/2011 16:54

Popping in to give peachy a virtual hug. And trust in the hypnotherapy too! It helped me endure a 3 hour induced labour with no pain relief (and totally silent, Scientology-style!)

Survived a muddy 10K with assault course today. The Men's Health 10K in Battersea. I wish I had pushed myself as I found it quite easy but was worried the course would be difficult. Discovered I can do monkey bars! Smile Final time 50 mins something secs. Will find out later when results are posted. Reasonably happy with that considering there were 16 or so obstacles. Had I known what my pace was I would have pushed it to get 4x.xx!

fannybanjo · 12/11/2011 17:11

Pah it ain't fair - I can't see Rhets photos! Facebook off the lot of youse!! Glad DD getting sorted re potty, sounds like you're well on your way to having only one in nappies. DP is repeating the "I think I'll go early" mantra as its wishful thinking! I did the opposite, so as not to tempt fate. Worked once... Grin

NANNY well done and looking forward to hearing about it! Love the race reports.

Moshi there you are! Hope you are well, you're missing loads! Well done too on the 10k, I've heard of that one. Haha at 50 min 10k time being easy with 16 obstacles! You go girl. Grin

First run since HM. 5 miles at 8.03m/m. 1 mile cool down at 9.10m/m. Pretty easy run - up a bastard hill on mile 2 which stopped my average pace being 7.50 (4 other miles were 7.50). Think I'm going to
do the Conwy HM next week...

DrNo well done on good run this morning. Well on your way to getting good time for Blackpool. Yes, I am concerned about doing 2 HM in 2 weeks BUT if I feel well enough, I'm going for it. It's a hilly one so I won't go for a PB, I'll use it as experience for my HM in January which is also hilly.

BulletProofMum · 12/11/2011 17:16

Leatherhead 10k tomorrow. Haven't run for 3 weeks. Never done a 10k before, a fair few half marathons so will find the pace hard tomorrow

peachLFDTsmuggler · 12/11/2011 17:21

Well done N4NNY, looking forward to the details!

Brilliant time Moshi. Obstacles?!? You don't make things easy for yourself!

Orange, Boxing Day? Goodness, that would be dedicated. Do you think it will be full of hungover folk???

Sticky, I think that's a good time, especially post-piri-piri!!

Psssst! I had a little show this morning. Wasn't much but defo a show. Went for nap afterwards and then little walk but nothing happening. I know these can occur days/weeks before labour, but had (admittedly bigger) one with DD and waters broke 5 hours later. DP freaking out poor thing! Might blow up the yoga ball after all Smile

liath · 12/11/2011 17:34

Hi folks, hope you don't mind if I join/re-join! I posted ages ago but got a horrible tendonitis and gave up running completely for a year (ugh!) and did lots of hillwalking instead.

Anyway, I managed my first race today which was a 4.4 mile hill race and survived. The tendon held out and I managed my target time of under an hour and didn't even come last!

I'm in Edinburgh, I think there are a couple of others here? Look forward to getting to know you all.

backwardpossom · 12/11/2011 17:41

Hi liath and welcome to the thread! Another Scot - we are a healthy nation, I don't believe what I read in the papers Wink

Sorry to hear your news, peach - I don't know if I mentioned it on here before, but my MiL died 11 days before my due date with DS and it was such a horrid time. My poor DH was obviously devastated (it was very sudden - she hadn't been ill at all) and we were supposed to be excited about this new life. So terribly sad that she never got to meet her first grandchild. :( Much love to you xx
