I wanna join that group! Off to look now.

Wheelybug · 11/11/2011 20:16

Yep that's exactly what happened possum. 9 hours without going.... Then filled her nappy with both sorts ! I'm hoping it was the poo that she was holding

Wheelybug · 11/11/2011 20:23

Oops phone buggering about.

Anyway, we'll see what happens tomorrow although I have the joy of having to take her to dd1's swimming lesson as dh having his flu jab. That'll be fun

And friends for brunch so I have to sort the ocado delivery and tidy the house before hitting the wine.

fannyletsfookingdothisbanjo · 11/11/2011 20:46

My fellow runners - need quick bit of advice.... My friend wants to do Conwy HM on 20 November.... Would I be a crazy bitch to contemplate it??

Sorry a me me post - I will catch up with thread now.

backwardpossom · 11/11/2011 20:53

Why would it be crazy - do it, fanny!

wheely DS was the same with poos for about a month, then one day he decided that actually, doing it on the toilet wasn't really as traumatic as he thought. Stick with it! :)

Bumply · 11/11/2011 21:04

Managed another pre-work run yesterday, but got carried away on the downhill with lots of LFDT thoughts such that I missed my turn off. Tried to get back on track through the woods and nearly got lost. Made a 5k run into a 6+ run/hike/walk that was so not what I had intended.

I think it was the last straw for a groin strain that's developed over the last couple of weeks, so I'm going to rest for a few days and concentrate on cross training instead.

If I get withdrawal symptoms for the outdoors I'll have to dig out my bike from the shed and see if I can remember how to ride it - it's been a while.

orangeLFDThead · 11/11/2011 21:12

Just had a quick scan over. Good luck to N4NNY and bonkers this weekend

bonkersLFDT20 · 11/11/2011 21:41

Thanks for the good wishes. Between DS1 and DS2 I'm just about done over this evening. They are 12 and 2 and naughty challenging in very different ways.

DS2 has a cold. While I feel sorry for him I do not 1) want bad nights and 2) want to catch it, for purely selfish reasons.

Went for a 7 miler yesterday with my usual running mate and another young chap who's run with us once. We unfortunatly lost him (he told us to go ahead) and then we couldn't find him when we got back. A few emails and office checks later we found he'd taken a wrong turning and ended up nearly doing a 1/2 marathon. Woops.

fanny you are crazy so of course you do the 1/2 on the 20th. Not sure why you're asking really?!

wish Yep, I'm doing the Cambridge 1/2. Apparently there is a kissing gate in the route. I can't believe that's true. We'll have to wear large LFDT hats so that we can see each other and woop and high 5 and generally prat about!

Debi your 1/2 training sounds rather like mine and I did fine. I knew that intervals and the like would benefit but I preferred just running.

Wheley continued good luck with the potty! My 2 were very different. DS1 was over 3 and pretty much training without bribes motivation and rewards. He doesn't do anything he doesn't want to do.
DS2 was more responsive to the whole going out buying pants, cheering and general hoorah but it's been more a matter of him being trained. So, he's trained at 2 1/2 but it's taken a long time and we need to keep on top of it.

Bumply · 11/11/2011 21:58

bonkers, taking wrong turns must be catching.

DebiTheScot · 11/11/2011 22:01

bonkers 12 and 2! That sounds very hard work!

My ds2 not very keen on pooing on toilet either. He likes to do it 5 mins after going to bed. Grrr.

My friend wasn't in labour at 6.30pm so it's looking unlikely for 11.11.11 dob. She's so fed up, poor thing. My helpful advice was to run a marathon Grin

I went out for my daylight run at 4pm today. Shame there was no daylight tho! Running along the canal in the dark was interesting! Did 5 miles though and it felt pretty good.
That's 3 runs and 15 miles this week, the most for quite a while.

futurity · 11/11/2011 22:04

bonkers a kissing gate in the Cambridge half? Smile I'm up for whooping around...I'll need all the encouragement I can get to do this event without my precious music! (evil headphone ban!)

DebiTheScot · 11/11/2011 22:04

I fb friend requested someone the other day with a message that just said LFDT but I can't remember who and they haven't accepted me yet. Who was it??

Bumply · 11/11/2011 22:05

If DS2 hadn't been a week late his birthday would have been 20/02/2002

stickyLFDTfingers · 11/11/2011 22:31

good luck with the race tomorrow N4NNY and with yours on Sunday Bonkers!

Monkey enjoy Motorhead! Apparently it's so noisy you'll feel your clothes vibrating.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 11/11/2011 23:29

Good luck N4NNY and bonkers!!!

Yes, go on crazy Fanny, you're on a roll!

Wheely, sounds like trying day, really hope tomorrow is better!

Feel like baby has moved down today, but won't get too excited as I know the second babies are supposed to pop in and out of one's pelvis!

monkey, what a rocktastic week you're having lady. I love Spinal Tap too!

Sadly my dad's wife has gone into a hospice today, and seems like the end could be very near. All my siblings have been brilliant doing stuff for my dad, I just feel very far away and disconnected Sad

rhetorician · 11/11/2011 23:29

you know, ladies, sometimes it's more fun to read your wacky posts than to post! good luck to N4NNY and bonkers

Wheelybug · 12/11/2011 00:02

.peach - thinking of your family . what a sad time (especially when you're on the brink of such a happy event, if that makes sense).

fanny - JFDI (just ....)

bonkersLFDT20 · 12/11/2011 07:14

peach I'm sorry about your Dad's wife. Having siblings at a time like this is a blessing.

Get yourself on a bouncy ball and think of large, open places.....

monkeyLFDTwench · 12/11/2011 08:58

fanny I agree, JFDI. You don't need us to tell you!

peach thinking of you and your family.

sticky last time DH saw Motörhead he was literally deaf for a week. I like it loud but not that loud so I've got my earplugs and am not ashamed to use them.

bumply get that bike out, it's like ........ riding a bike, you'll be fine!

Just off to football with the boys and will have an easy run while they're playing. Then will do the Shred when I get back. Bought a couple of new kettle bells yesterday special offer at Sports Direct, bargain hunters - proper cast iron type ones.

AngeChica · 12/11/2011 08:58

I'm sorry peach i know just what it is like :( - seriously ill parents living far away. Feel v helpless and full of worry all the time. Running has become my therapy and I mean that in all seriousness! You have the knowledge that there are people there for them even if you can't make it there yourself. That's a comfort.

Waiting for DH to get back with dog, then I'm off for a big one. 'Tis a nicer day up here than it's been all week. Enjoy all runs this w/e.

rhetorician · 12/11/2011 09:03

peach in my state of mild inebriation last night I missed the last line of your post; I am so sorry to hear this, and I imagine that you must feel a long way away. Thinking of you and your family.

Those of you who know me on fb can look at a pic of me on last week's run - I know I don't look like I am running those steps, but I was, I swear! DP likes this so much that we have a large print of it!

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 12/11/2011 09:14

Thanks everyone - haven't ran since HM, will do later and see how I feel then make my decision. We bought a new mattress this week and it's firm and I'm not sleeping marvellously on it so feel very tired. Hmm Kind of feel like running taking over my life and feel 2 weeks in between HMs is a lot. It's a very very hilly race too.

peach I am so so sorry to hear your sad news. I hope your step mum is as comfortable as possible and your family are in my thoughts. Hope you are well.

rhet hows DP? Hope potty training going well!

DrNo haha we'll see.... I reckon your training going brilliantly and you may well overtake me on my final death mile flipping me the bird!

Just sat at kitchen table with girlies trying to figure out whe to go today...

fannybanjo · 12/11/2011 09:22

bonkers I laughed out loud at your poor colleague getting lost and mealy doing 13 mile! Blush!! I took a friend out once for a 10 miler which ended up a 14 as we got lost. Neither of us had ever done more than 10 miles before so we were crippled for days!

wheely hope your potty training going better than mine....

rhetorician · 12/11/2011 09:52

DP is fine, at 37 weeks, but wants DD to hold on and get to sagittarius...potty training good too, apart from her refusal to wee at nursery (holds on, accident), but at home she's pretty much sorted. The nursery part will come in time I'm sure.

Lovely day here, might try and get out for a short one later on. Off to town to do food shop choccy bribes for dd

OP posts:
peachLFDTsmuggler · 12/11/2011 10:12

Thanks folks. Very weird feeling, waiting for someone to die, and waiting for someone to be born.

Another dreadful nights sleep, been awake since 4.30, DD been awake off and on since 5. I need a tissue, I've lost my tissue, I need a hug, there's something moving on my wall. Think I will sleep all afternoon, and then no doubt sleep badly again tonight. Groan. No ball bouncing for me today, I don't have the energy for labour. God, I could weep.

Lol at Rhet's DP hanging on for a saggitarian! I have no clue about when these things change over Smile
