Goodness me, well done fanny - you're well on your way to that marathon. I never did more than 20 miles in training (and in fact for Chester my longest run was 18) so ..... which one are you signing up for?! You know you want to!
Just don't forget though that marathon training is meant to be done at a slower pace than your intended marathon pace, or you will well and truly knacker yourself
.
Do it fairy, do it do it do it do it!
futurity I think there is a Santa run in St Albans every Christmas. I did the Buntingford 10 a few years back (can't be too far from you?) and really enjoyed it, it's a lovely hilly course - but sadly apparently booked already this year.
Interesting point about running and trying to avoid complete twats other road and pavement users. When I went out last night the tally was: one car backing at speed off a drive, one dog lunging at me (luckily I ran across a grass verge and into the road, so was a good distance away - it still had a good old bark and lunge), and two (adult) cyclists riding at full pelt on the pavement in the dark with no lights (worry not though, as both were wearing helmets so it's only pedestrians that are at risk
). It does irritate me tbh, as I'm there decked out like a complete numpty in all my hi-viz gear and wrist lights (plus I don't use my music at that time of evening) - and no-one else cares (sob).
On a lighter note, what's this with DrN and her hotel - oooh, get you! I once dropped a massive clanger with a horribly wealthy mum from school, who said she was packing ready for a villa holiday, and I said "oh are you renting a villa?" Honestly - if looks could kill! It was obviously her own villa (in Monaco), and she was disgusted at the very idea of renting someone else's house. I should have know really, they live in a £5m house plus they have a £3m house they haven't managed to sell yet, plus the villa. How the other half live ....
