Nice one. Love the reference to the runs in the title .....!

Thinking of Moshi (probably half way round already), piff and hopefully sticky!

Themasterandmargaritas · 16/10/2011 09:29

Those suffering from bad tummies, excuse the pun in the thread title. Grin

Go go Moshi,piff,sticky go.

That'll keep you going. I have no idea how you teachers do school trips. Respect.

Ah yes the middle of the night sleepover call. I've had to call a mummy on one occasion at 2am when the poor poppet was sick and just wanted mummy. Mummy came but we couldn't find my night guard anywhere Hmm so had to pass the poor wee girl over the top of the garden gate! It's the next day post sleepover fallout that I find difficult to handle...

Aww Rhet, I'm sorry you are disappointed, I think 63 mins on a hilly route is great and fwiw I'm not sure I'm much faster than you either and I never seem to get any faster, no matter what I do. You have been doing some great running recently. Damn unreasonable of your friend to run off without you though. Wink Post run headaches are the bane of my life. I have bought glucose sweets and Complan, which is the nearest thing I can find here to sports protein drinks and will see if both can stave off my headaches. Did you take a rehydration solution when you finished?

Peachy and Squix, glad you are both feeling perkier but sorry about all the tummy bugs, especially fanny as you seem to have been suffering for ages.

Wheely, you probably didn't spot me in the background because I was going so fast. Grin

As I was preparing to go out this morning dd was singing along to Queen on Glee Karaoke with her headphones on and sounding like a caterwauling beast.

I psyched myself up for 13 (v slow) miles this morning in the rain and did 12.7m in 2 hours dead. I'm delighted because there were a lot of hills, the last miles was the best because it was all downhill. Grin Do you think I can manage my 2hrs on the day? It's a course that is as flat as it can be for Nairobi.

Marking place..thanks for new thread...hope the post sleepover fallout isn't too bad when DS1 returns...I expect DS2 will wind him up ...where can I hide?!

Pawsnclaws · 16/10/2011 09:50

Seriously though, nothing worse than a tummy bug - and the grim certainty that you'll end up not just feeling ill but mopping up after everyone else.

I was at a party recently and a little boy had chucked up half down/half round the toilet. No-one else could or would clean up so I did it. I hadn't realised so many people just can't deal with sick. I think I must just be immune!

Rhet - I would struggle to get under an hour now. I really need to start pushing the speed training now, but I need to do it consistently. I think I'm so used to long runs now it's become a habit to do it all at the same slow speed. When I first started running I was doing 5k in just under 24 minutes. That seems unthinkable now, but I was physically capable of doing it then and I can't believe I've lost that ability in a few years. Hope you feel better this morning, personally I think just over am hour for a forest trail is pretty good.

orangehead · 16/10/2011 10:35

Good luck Moshi, piff and sticky.
Had a little chuckle at the title

Wiifitmama · 16/10/2011 10:36

Marking my place. Love the new title! Thou I may need to leave the thread if there is much more talk about vomit - I am one of those people who really can't handle it and dread this time of year!

Good luck to all today's runners. It's so cold here! (London). I am off to Body pump class shortly - inside where it is nice and warm. Though I may brave a run outside later as I am really not running often enough.

sfxmum · 16/10/2011 10:45

hello, marking my place, thanks for new thread

sorry about the bad tummies, hope it is resolved soon

futurity I hope ds feels like it was a positive learning experience

best of luck, once again for today's racers

rhet it is not a bad result but sure you are capable of better, hope you are feeling better

no running again dh working all weekend, dd wants to go and have an adventure which means go out and wander about looking at stuff that interest her in aimless fashion, dh is really good at that, I struggle but must oblige Grin

course recon tomorrow

sfxmum · 16/10/2011 10:47

paws I think everyone can it is a mental block thing that you engage when you need to

fannybanjo · 16/10/2011 10:54

shitting marking my place

backwardpossom · 16/10/2011 11:04

Thanks for the new thread, Master

I've not had the chance to catch up properly on the old thread, sorry! Good luck to everyone running today :)

rhet Sorry you were disappointed, but I think 63 mins for a hilly 10k is a good time!
passes some cake to Debi
Hope you feel better soon, fanny - immodium all round? Usually does the trick for me...

Must be poorly season - we all have horrid chesty coughs in our house. Yuck. I still went out for a run yesterday and did the same route as last week - 10k off road on a VERY hilly route. Was great fun but so so hard. Not so muddy as last week thankfully... Had some mad idea about going out to do some intervals today, but don't think I'll bother - maybe wait until this cough goes.

Had a nice few days away at the start of the week visiting friends with new babies - one of the babies was 6 days old... so so broody...

MoshiMoshi · 16/10/2011 13:19

3:15:25 according to Garmin. Was ugly from 20M. These marathons are not to be underestimated. Report later. wheely's bro beat me but that's ok cos he seemed a nice chap! Smile

backwardpossom · 16/10/2011 13:21

Ooh that's fantastic! :D Well done Moshi You're an inspiration! X

futurity · 16/10/2011 13:28

Wow moshifarah !! You are amazing!

Themasterandmargaritas · 16/10/2011 13:30

Wowzers moshi, how fantastic, congratulations Grin is it a PB?

OP posts:
Pawsnclaws · 16/10/2011 13:43

Well done Moshi! have a virtual hug n slice of cake! Look forward to the full report.

RunningAllDay · 16/10/2011 13:52

Wow, well done Moshi. Am in complete awe! Would be interested to know where you came in the field? (i.e. are there millions of women who can run as fast as that?!)

And well done rhet for yesterday. Sorry to hear you were disappointed - I feel your pain as hills are my curse too.

Back to teaching my kids how to knit!

fannybanjo · 16/10/2011 13:53

Fuck. Me. You did it! Well done, you really are an inspiration Moshi

sfxmum · 16/10/2011 14:29

moshi that is fantastic Grin

FairyBasslet · 16/10/2011 14:30

Amazing Moshi. You did a marathon in 33 minutes longer than it took me to run a half!

Wheelybug · 16/10/2011 15:00

LOL moshi . He only just beatyou - 3. 12 I think . Ace time for both of you . Very well done !

Thanks for new thread masters . Of course you were running too fast for me to see you ...... It must have been all the beasties.

Trying to sort kids clothes today - my upstairs looks a bit like that photo peach posted on fb the other day when she was sorting baby clothes. How can a 2 year old have so many clothes, a big sister, a big cousin and stuff of her own.. and she won't wear trousers so I have boxes of them which I need to keep in case she changes her mind !

backwardpossom · 16/10/2011 15:36

Ugh Wheely I've been putting off doing that for months...

Hatwoman · 16/10/2011 16:05

just posted on this loast thread before seeing the new one: moshi you're a hero. fantastic time.

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 16/10/2011 18:27

Hello I'm here. Moshi great time, dp's pb for a marathon is around 3.39 I think.

peachsmuggler · 16/10/2011 18:34

Moshi, that is brilliant!!!! Congratulations, you are totally inspirational! Can't wait for the race report and of course, the splits!

Well done to your brother too Wheely. Oh god, the clothes!!!! You have my sympathy. I have one (flipping giant) bag to wash, dry and pack, plus another load which is dry to pack tomorrow and then I am done. Well I say done, need to do all the pram linings etc. Maybe will ask MIL to help on Wednesday. Spent day putting DD's room back together post painting. It is vile pink, but she loves it so that's all that matters really.

Anyway, enough of this domestic drudgery! Futurity, hope DS1 home and happy about his night away.

fanny, hope things improve soon arse-wise.

Masters, love love love the new thread title, really made me laugh Grin

futurity · 16/10/2011 19:23

He was fine thanks when he got home...super happy about having stayed out and said sorry for phoning! I told him not to be silly and that I didn't mind at all...he said he just had a wobble when he was told it was time to go to bed and he realised he couldn't say goodnight to me! Bless!
