More space for us to talk about our progress on the C25K programme, the highs, the lows, the hills, the rain, our pelvic floors and our choice of running music!

All are welcome on this international thread, stay with us and enjoy success Grin

Tinker Couch to 5K is a guide to get non-runners running 5 Kilometers. There are a lot of variations around the (I think) original lives at the Cool Running website.

encyclogirl · 24/06/2011 11:11

W2R3 done and dusted. I'm definitely going to tackle a W2R4. Feeling like I have loads left in the tank at the end of the run. Can believe how strong I'm feeling. Love this programme!

BearGryllsBra · 24/06/2011 11:52

I've been OUT! OUTSIDE. Running! :) My foot is behaving, the sun is shining, I saw rabbits, my bra was stuffed to the gunnels with paraphenalia! I would hazard a guess that I'm almost back to normal .....

Well done to everyone who has been running while I've been laid up in agony drinking wine and eating Maltesers, and welcome to newbies to this thread. Off out now, but will be back later to catch up on what you've all been up to.

I am a :) bunny, can you tell?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/06/2011 14:50

It's so nice to see a happy bunny Grin

Brilliant on the running and on your storage arrangements!

Aww thanks Pistey Grin, I feel so much better in myself for having been out, not scunnered anymore - how are you getting on? Why were you PisteyNoMates then? You've always got us, your merry band of virtual running companions.

Where's sweaty gone?

Went shopping earlier for a t-shirt to wear running, as my old faithful has shrunk Hmm and is in danger of exposing a camel toe Shock but couldn't find anything that covered my big fat arse. Anyone got any recommendations? Apart from sweaty's strange looking skirty thing ... Grin

Hello to Tinker - hope you managed to download the podcasts for C25k and got going. GtOrmondSt's Louise - shame I'm a hick from the sticks, I'd need to psyche myself up for a trip to The Big Smoke running :). encyclogirl and SuchProspects, you are doing so well, I love the programme too, it's great.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend - a heatwave I believe, fingers crossed.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/06/2011 16:35

that funny skirt thing would cover a whole camel Blush

BearGryllsBra · 24/06/2011 16:49

Piste Grin but you've not seen the size of my arse!

Well done Tinker, hope you get throught the weekend ok - focus on running on your days off and that will get you through it hopefully.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/06/2011 17:12

Why don't you design a range of running caftans?!

OP posts:
sweatybrawearer · 24/06/2011 23:08

I'm here! But not for much longer as I'll be in London next week for work and picking up my lovely boys for the summer Grin Grin

So we won't all be wearing skapri's this winter then?

I did 5k last night, didn't time myself but probably about 45 mins. Mr President was in town so loads of streets were closed off. My foot feels OK, so like bear I'm a Smile bunny. Bear, great that you are back out and about!

JelliBelli · 24/06/2011 23:25

Hi All,

After reading Bear's wildlife exploits today I remembered i meant to tell you that I saw a buzzard on my Sunday run!!! We were running along a disused railway line adjacent to a river and we disturbed a buzzard and it flew over our heads and along the path ahead of us - fantastic!!! (And then I forgot as I was having a grump about my slow time - hopeless as it was the very best bit of the run Hmm)

Encyclogirl I so wish I was as enthusiastic as you!!! Envy

Bear, so glad you are feeling back to normal

Tinker welcome to the thread

BearGryllsBra · 25/06/2011 08:39

Grin at kaftans Pistey, maybe, maybe .....

Glad your foot better too sweaty -maybe you'll get a little run while you're over here in your manor :) collecting your boys.

Thanks Jelli - a buzzard, they are pretty magnificent - that's one of the things I was missing about running outside, the flora and fauna, as it distracts me from whining on worrying about how I will make it to the next bench/passing place etc.

So much for the heatwave, it's horrible here this morning, gey dreich as my granny used to say, so no running till Monday. Actually there's a teensy sliver of sunshine just peeping through now so not all doom and gloom.

melodyangel · 25/06/2011 15:51

All the yummy runny mummies round here tend to wear shorts over their running tights and long socks too. I'm still running under the cover of darkness!

sweatybrawearer · 26/06/2011 01:58

I have packed running gear, and am also planning a little trip to what was Lillywhites and is now Sports Direct Grin. Struggling into my (slightly damp from the wash) boob-binder while I was slightly damp for the shower this morning reminded me that I need a new sports bra, preferably one with hooks instead of the wretched crop tops I bought.

sweatybrawearer · 26/06/2011 18:38

Shock horror! Sports Direct actually had the skapris. Had I not already seen them on the internet I'd have been very confuddled when I saw them Smile (and no, I didn't buy them Grin).

Melody - what do you think is with the long socks?

BearGryllsBra · 26/06/2011 20:48

sweaty step away from the skapris, step AWAY Grin

Am not a fan of the long socks either, hopefully be out in the sunshine at 0700 tomorrow morning, flashing my camel toe to all and sundry Grin.

sweatybrawearer · 26/06/2011 21:03

Ooh I'll be with you in spirit - alarm set for 6.30 for a morning jaunt along the river. Bet you see better wildlife than I do!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/06/2011 21:31

Have fun catching up with your boys!
And at camel toes Grin

Hi everyone! W3R1 this evening, it was fine tbh. I expect I'll notice the jump from 3 - 5 mins next week, but I didn't mind running for 3 mins and my recovery time has improved too.

I managed 4 runs last week and I plan to do the same this week. I am so loving this programme! I keep saying that I know, but I do!

Jelli you are MY inspiration. You've done it girl!

NimpyWindowmash · 26/06/2011 22:07

Failed W7R1 Sad. I just had no energy and had to walk from about halfway. Probably too much Wine last night.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/06/2011 06:52

Nimpy.......that's not a fail, that's just that you are going to do it next time Grin

OP posts:
sweatybrawearer · 27/06/2011 07:50

That's right. We all have off days. You'll do it next time Nimpy!

I huffed and puffed my way along the river and over a couple of bridges. It's a beautiful morning in London. No wildlife, apart from an Old English Sheepdog being walked in the Embankment Gardens.

I couldn't work out why it was so hard, as I'd convinced myself the route was only about 3k. I was blaming lack of food yesterday, no breakfast this morning, the heat, not having music on blah blah, but have just re-mapped the route and it's 3 MILES, not K! Good job I didn't add on another bridge!

BearGryllsBra · 27/06/2011 17:13

3 miles, sweaty that's fantastic, well done especially in this heat - mind you, you've been in training for this sort of muggy weather :). You could play Spot The Corgi, or Spot the Royal, or Spot The Celeb down there in London - the most I saw this morning was some wee birds - of the feathered variety, and some WhiteVanMen, very disappointing.

Nimpy don't be disheartened, tis hard at the best of times but running in this weather is even harder I find. You'll go out there in a couple of days and have your Bambi legs on and it'll be great, you'll see.

Well done encyclogirl, you're doing great!

CarmelTow · 27/06/2011 17:16

Pistey camel toe well and truly covered this morning Grin
