More space for us to talk about our progress on the C25K programme, the highs, the lows, the hills, the rain, our pelvic floors and our choice of running music!

All are welcome on this international thread, stay with us and enjoy success Grin

Done W2R3 !! Can't let you get too far ahead of me KateMiddletonsEyebrows Grin

SirCharlieStinkySocks · 13/05/2011 14:54

Out again this morning, noticed that I'm not quite as dramatically purple today as I was last Sunday so running must be doing something even though it's only week 1.

Week 2 begins Sunday and thanks all for the welcome

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/05/2011 14:55

Midtowner - I think that you will ned a compartment in the new Slutty Running Lingerie Collection for your passport, because you run so far these days, one day you'll forget to stop, and you'll need it as you go through into Canada!!!

Duly noted pisty, and in production .....

safe journey!

Well done Nimpy and SirCharlie :)

Did 28mins this morning at the crack of sparrows, and have hurt my FOOT! Arrrgh. It kills on the heel when I stand on it, on the inside bit. Still, two days to recover so hopefully it's nothing serious. Legs were fine today surprisingly, but breathing was a pile of shite. V out of breath, nearly had to reach into the BearGrylls and pull out my puffer at one point top of hill.

Have a good weekend everyone!

PS Pisty love the new name for my Collection - running with the slutty idea, they will feature plenty of lacy, frothy bits as well as practical pockets ... Grin

FriedSpamButty · 13/05/2011 20:18

Thanks for the encouragement and good wishes! Since the stomach upset I have been plagued with painful trapped wind Blush all this week so haven't been back out.

However DP seems keen on starting C25K - he was working away the week I did the first 2 sessions - so I'm hoping that both of us will be pounding the pavements sometime this weekend.

Am dead impressed and in awe of you lot though!

rowrowrowyourboat · 13/05/2011 20:23

W2R3 feel much better tonight, hope next week doesn't kill me. Grin I don't know if checking what's a head or waiting until I'm out there is the better plan.

justaminute · 13/05/2011 22:07

Hopefully I'm back into the running routine. After 4 weeks of being a lazy moo I have done 3 runs this week. Only did 25 mins tonight as I had to run to the shops before closing. I tucked a crisp fiver in my bra but it was a bit soggy (yuk) when I got to the till. BGB can I request a slutty bra with sweatproof cash stowage pockets. Grin

sluttysbrawearer · 14/05/2011 02:48

psst, it's me, your NY pal, under deep cover Grin. I spotted someone I know on here, and thought it only polite to tell her, then realised she'd be able to spot me too.

sluttysbrawearer · 14/05/2011 02:50

sluttybear, hope your heel feels better soon. Well done rowrow and justamin.

RatherBeWearingASluttyBra · 14/05/2011 08:41

What do you think of my new name?

Have got my asthma drugs sorted, now just need to take them properly Blush Lungs quite congested at the mo, so no running today.

Maybe the Slutty Running Lingerie collection could factor in an oxygen tank?

Everyone is doing so well [proud]

SpawnChorus · 14/05/2011 08:46

Meant to be doing W3R1 this morning. Three minutes seems like an awful lot.

NimpyWindowmash · 14/05/2011 08:55

Get out there Spawn - NOW!!

SpawnChorus · 14/05/2011 11:06

Just got back. The 2nd (last) 3 mins went sooo slowly, and my damn phone crashed and didn't save my SportyPal session, so I don't have the satisfaction of poring over my run. But all in all it was fine. I'm truly amazed that I managed to do three mins running at all! It seemed like it would be an insurmountable leap to double my 90 seconds. God that sounds a bit pathetic doesn't it?! Grin

I'm already dreading the 20 minute run in a few weeks time....Hmm

BearGryllsBra · 14/05/2011 12:20

sluttybrawearer I know who you are Grin and I love your new name, tis very funny indeed! Foot is really sore, think i might have this which would be disastrous.

RatherBeWearingASluttyBra - I snorted when I saw your new name Grin, cheered me up no end. Does the pollen affect your asthma? I was a bit wheezy this morning. O2 tanks, sweatproof money pouches and jetpack sent to Design Team Wink.

Maybe the trapped wind when released will propel you along FriedSpam Wink.

Good girl Spawn, well done, and well done to Nimpy, rowrow and justamin, you are all doing soooo well!

BearGryllsBra · 14/05/2011 12:22

Yikes! apologies for excessive use of Wink's and Grin's!

colette · 14/05/2011 12:31

Hi room for one more ?

I haven't read all the thread but am very impressed. I am on week 5 and wanted to say Spawnchorus I have done the 20 min today ( really slowly though ) I am so Shock. I remember finding 1 and a half minutes so long ! You will get there it is real wierd how your stamina increases if you stick with it..
. I have got this stage before and then stopped so I will read this thread to keep me going.

RatherBeWearingASluttyBra · 14/05/2011 14:22

sluttysbrawearer · 14/05/2011 16:47

Oh no bear, that sounds awful. I hope it isn't that!

Well done spawn, and welcome colette.

Ratherbe, great new name [splutter]. I hope the asthma calms down. I have an attack every now and again (not often enough to take a regular preventer), and had it very badly as a teenager. I hate that feeling of congestion.

KateMiddletonsEyebrows · 14/05/2011 18:26

W3R1 done.

Some thoughts:

  1. The whole session didn't feel long enough today
  2. Running for 3 minutes wasn't as bad as I thought it would be
  3. Walking for 3 minutes felt completely indulgent!
  4. Running for longer is less disruptive. Really looking forward to being able to run for longer, as you get into a better rhythm.
  5. Still running very slowly. At the end of 9 weeks I may be able to run for 30 minutes, but at the current rate that'll be nowhere near 5k.

It's so nice to have this thread - love reading all the comments from others at this stage and further on. Thank you!

BearGryllsBra · 14/05/2011 19:41

Rather you do make me chortle Grin. Welcome to Colette - always room for more on here :). sluttybra I am Shock at the very thought of it being that, and will be extremely :( if that is the case. Am finding that sitting here with feet up and Brew and Biscuit's and Wine is making me :) so feeling much better! KateMiddleton - I love reading about everyone's runs too, and the trials and tribulations of the NotSoLongDistanceRunners Grin.

Rather - have I gone over my quota yet? Wink

Tuggy · 14/05/2011 20:24

W5R1 today. This is the bastard week that everyone panics about and I've finally arrived on it eeeek!

The first week that isn't just the same run for R1 R2 and R3

So today was 5 mins x 3 next is 8 mins x 2 and then the dreaded 20 mins.

REALLY don't know how i'll do it. After the 5 mins x 3 today I had a stitch, my muscles were crying and I was red faced and sweaty. I'm getting nervous!

tigoeufeet I have a BMI on the obese range and am about 4 stone too heavy so YES you can start the c2fk as well. The program starts very slowly and builds you up so you don't get demoralised and you'll be amazed at how quickly you improve. Just go for it. Week one was the hardest for me.

sluttysbrawearer · 14/05/2011 20:38

Tuggy, by the time you get to the 20 min run you will be ready for it. I was dreading it, but when you're actually doing it it's not that bad. Promise!

I still get stitches now and again if it's too soon after I've eaten, and get horribly sweaty and beetrooty. It must be doing us some good though!

I'm itching for some fresh air, but will wait until the morning. don't fancy running through Covent Garden at this time on a Saturday night! Far too embarrassing!

RatherBeWearingASluttyBra · 14/05/2011 21:30

Confused Confused Confused Confused
No, you haven't reached your quota yet, but don't feel Angry at all, but I do think you've missed one or two... How Blush
I'm quite Envy Envy Envy EnvyEnvy Envy for your Brew and Biscuit as I am low carbing and can have neither. But what I can have is a nice bit of lettuce Hmm It doesn't give too much energy for running, but at least I'll be like a bean pole. Hmm ConfusedWink Grin

Just had a quick scoot around here - over Waterloo Bridge, along the river, back over Westminster Bridge and up the other side of the river. Lovely sunny morning but lots of pollen.

Saw some other runners (all men), and signs for the Moonwalk, which I guess was last night (I sponsored a friend, but hadn't clocked when it was). Now off to visit ds1 and take him out for a big pub lunch.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday, whatever you are doing Smile.
