If you read the BBC story, it says:

"The government has allowed animal testing for makeup ingredients to resume despite a 25-year ban.

It changed a policy on animal testing to align with EU chemical rules, according to a High Court ruling.

Animal testing for makeup or its ingredients had been completely banned in the UK since 1998. Animal testing had only been allowed if the benefits gained from the research outweighed any animal suffering, for example for medicines.

But in 2020 the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), an EU agency which oversees chemical regulation, ruled that companies needed to test some ingredients used in cosmetics on animals to ensure they were safe for workers manufacturing the ingredients."

So animal testing for some purposes is required by EU law and the UK is aligned with it, despite the change happening after Brexit.

Which shows how utterly futile Brexit was.

Interesting moves from the US around the various Trump trials.

Also the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys cases (both wins for the Federal Government) are tightening the vice on Trump.

Mysteriously, the UK press doesn't seem to be too keen to find space to detail a just desserts story.

I believe (although it would be petty to do the actual work) that Louise repeatedly said they were perfectly happy with Brexit and how it was going.

So in the event we do hear from them, it will only be to say "au contraire" and witter on about how this was what they always wanted, take back control, laws make in Westminster, how high the moon, etc.
