Oh, I thought that was a piss-take!

prettybird · 26/08/2022 10:23

No: he/she/it got most offended at people thinking it was a piss-take and insisted that he/she/it was indeed proud to be supporting Ukraine Confused

SerendipityJane · 26/08/2022 11:23

Dizzy Lizzie. Going to be our PM.

We can surely do better than that. In fact now I come to think of it, maybe God was preparing us for this day with our (well my) childhood) reading ..

Lizzie Dripping
Carries War
Charlottes Web (of lies)

(feel free to suggest some more for a Friday wind down.)

Confederacy of dunces?

Confederacy of dunces?

Cradle of Filth more like it. But that's a beat combo, not adolescent reading ...

Five go camping and catch polio from polluted water.

A decidedly iffy poll from The Express

How many times can you vote ?

HannibalHeyes · 28/08/2022 18:14

Funny how we don't get this honest reporting in our Tory run, and Murdoch run media...

HannibalHeyes · 28/08/2022 18:32

Wow. As he states in the tweet, this video from Leave.eu is literally a list of virtually everything that has gone wrong since we left...

How can you possibly say that @HannibalHeyes

Our politicians have definitely become more accountable.

To their mates, Tory donors, their bankers, and off shore bank accounts.

Still, you got to admit that good old whatshisface, you know the one who stuck around to help to make it all better, ran a superb misinformation campaign. Almost as though he learned from the best.

Now, who is currently running an excellent misinformation campaign against its people to pretend they haven’t started an illegal war 🤔

Next Prime Minister to lose iconic British-made Jaguar and instead be driven around in German Audi says The Sun. Brexiters in Gvt sound a bit cross about this. They’ve really taken back control 😂

One Cabinet minister even blamed “anti-Brexit bureaucrats hiding behind a value-for-money smokescreen” for the decision.

So the logic there is we should pay more for Brexit ? Not quite what they sold us was it ?

Chevyimpala67 · 30/08/2022 14:29

Predictions of inflation at 22% next year...

quiteathome · 30/08/2022 15:45

22%?

It is mind blowing. The numbers are just going up and up.

@Chevyimpala67 well, that excuse is on a par with 'the dog ate my homework' Hmm

Chevyimpala67 · 30/08/2022 20:38

"Big dog"????

DrBlackbird · 30/08/2022 23:37

@Chevyimpala67 i saw that too… apparently as of next May we will have to be fingerprinted to enter the eu, no more passport stamps.

DrBlackbird · 31/08/2022 08:13

The mind boggles at the inanity of Johnson and his worthless and utterly meaningless platitudes “I just want to give people a sense of hope and perspective.”

My current worry is that his ‘backers’ have orchestrated the impossibility of Liz ‘think of the cheese’ Truss winning the leadership race just so that Johnson can step in right before the next general election to take the Tory party helm again after Truss makes an even greater balls up of being PM.

SerendipityJane · 31/08/2022 11:38

Here Madge tolling the Tories again. The new PM will have to go to Balmoral to kiss hands. It will b an honour for Nicola Sturgeon to be the first foreign leader to congratulate #thicklizzie

Taken from a thread on the winter crisis facing schools:

"Schools are starting their Autumn term facing an unprecedented funding crisis. Headteachers are becoming increasingly frantic in their disbelief that the government has done fuck all about it, and appears to be planning to continue to do fuck all about it.

There are few issues contributing -

The energy crisis - school energy bills are not capped, unlike household ones. To give an idea of the scale of the issue, Ormiston Academies Trust which sponsors 43 schools will see its energy bills rise from £5.1 million to £14.3 million. Grant Shapps, transport minister, says that schools could consider switching to LED lightbulbs".

Also, perhaps they could try rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
