Thank you @mathanxiety
I downplay it a bit because, really, who wants to hear how ill mum was, how she cried in pain, asked to die, how she desperately licked the oramorph from the plastic meds cup, how she nearly fell out of the chair twice through sheer exhaustion, how I truly thought she was dying...and as for the "care" she recieved ....
Until you've experienced it I'm not sure you'd believe how bad it is
10 years ago the majority of staff in the local hospital a&e were white British or from the EU (my county is 98.8% white btw)
Now they are mostly south east Asian, Indian and African.
I'm not sure that's ^ the result brexshitters wanted. The language barrier is an issue imo. The other issue is that I'd bet most of them are on agency pay so costing the Trust £££££
It's partly a retention crisis after covid (but it was bad before covid tbh) which is affecting education too.
My ds2s school is losing 4 very experienced staff next term. They are retiring early. 2 more staff are leaving teaching altogether. I'd be amazed if the HT lasts another year...
Ds1s experience in a local RG University hasn't been stellar either...lots of very unhappy staff, lots taking early retirement before their pensions shrink by 1/3.
This country is in such a mess. Maybe why I struggle so much with things like the jubile? £38 per household for what?
Some people can't cook food or keep their lights on ffs.
