Ds1s new UK passport arrived today.

Got a real gut punch feeling when I saw the black cover :(

It's just all so....pointless...and will impoverish the UK (in all senses of the word)

Did anyone seee Nathalie Elphicke claim that Dover traffic jams are "not because of Brexit, but because of Brussels bureaucracy and red tape".

jgw1 · 09/02/2022 18:01

@HannibalHeyes

Ah, another Great Brexshit Bonus!
This is excellent news for all the businesses that this country relies on so much to rip people off and provide poor service.
prettybird · 09/02/2022 18:01

I did. The TV barely survived Angry

She is correct, it is not because of Brexit.

It is because it is the wrong type of Brexit. If the EU, Jeremy Corbyn and other enemies of the will of the people had just allowed the right kind of Brexit it would be fine.

AuldAlliance · 09/02/2022 18:14

The queues are Corbyn's fault, surely?

Maybe he wandered over the M20, basket in hand, looking for fruit for his jam-making.
And he does have a weird brother.

An open and shut case, innit?

HannibalHeyes · 09/02/2022 18:35

Just thank goodness that we didn't end up with Chaos with Ed Milliband eh?...

HannibalHeyes · 09/02/2022 18:37

More fascism coming to a school near you.

My DS and his classmates have been frequently taking the Mickey out of Bozo (and Trump). There is, apparently, one boy in his year who is pro-Trump and pro-Johnson. I do wonder if he has passed his 11-plus...

DuncinToffee · 09/02/2022 19:00

I am just catching the Tory propaganda broadcast, lies lies lies and some weird graphics Angry

DuncinToffee · 09/02/2022 19:29

That was supposed to be a confused face rather than angry as it was just weird.

Re the Met "reconsidering". I for one am not holding my breath.

mathanxiety · 10/02/2022 02:29

We have to put up with EU controls. But we don't have to replicate them ourselves. We should have a light-touch border to the whole world. That's a Brexit opportunity.

Once again conveniently forgetting that the UK has a land border.

DoctorTwo · 10/02/2022 07:19

I'm sure he remembers, I just think he doesn't care. They'll happily watch the situation in Ireland worsen to the point of civil war because it gives them cover to loot the last of our publicly owned services @mathanxiety

I imagine they are now on a police register of non-offenders, and in line for a "thinking check".

Well, that's going to go really well Hmm.

@Opal8

Oh! And can I suggest cans with pull openers? Many clients don't have tin openers Pot noodles/savoury pots are handy as they only need hot water Thank you :)
Thank you for all the advice, if we are going to give it is good to be giving the best things. Hope you are getting plenty of donations, I think you are going to be very busy. The food banks are such a support to many, I wanted to volunteer but it was just as covid was starting and my kids were worried about me and even more about me putting DH at risk as he is very vulnerable. Maybe time to think again.
ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 10/02/2022 11:35

Opal8 · 10/02/2022 12:25

I'm pondering where we could go when if the UK becomes a failed state.

I am unsurprised to see reports of GE next year. In fact, I predicted it. The current cabinet will slope off, counting their piles of money to EU countries where they have bought their residency a la nigel lawson or the US.

God, what a fucking waste.
