Thanks Brandy, was nice having the Arms back for one last Hurrah!
Having stomped all over the threads, remainers will no doubt return to their state of shock that people have opinions different to theirs, and will watch with mouths agape as we make our voices heard in the voting booths.
I hope some of the more.....neurotic....remain posters here find peace. It's a bit sad that they felt the need to behave in the way they have on here. For all their domineering and smug attitude, they seem unable to let go of us.

I'm off, another 'cowardly' name change awaits me.

🥂 Cheers Brexiteers! Xx

bellinisurge · 03/01/2021 08:14

Op, so long and thanks for all the fish!

Hilarious idea that the break up of the Union is a "new thing " for me. In case you hadn't noticed, everything has changed. I've been banging on about this for ages. Maybe I should have spent more time in the Arms to post about it.Wink

Andante57 · 03/01/2021 09:30

Thanks Brandy - don’t go!
You’re the best.

Toptotoeunicolour · 03/01/2021 10:10

Thanks also from me Brandy. Have really appreciated your upbeat posts.

Farewell OP and all the rest! And next time you want to celebrate something, and it won't be certainly anything related to Brexit, please consume English sparkling wine and not that filthy drink, champagne. It would be more consistent with Brexiteer and working class credentials, which you clearly love to emphasise so often. Adieu à tous!

Certainly sweeter than the bitterness you are showing.

@Noname99
I agree you make some good points about increasing immigration from the developing world (personally I would prefer our efforts went into making the developing world a better place to live but hay ho) many British asians voted Leave (very shrewdly) with this in mind. I think you are hopeless naive thinking Brexit will improve the lives of minorities in the UK. I would suggest you follow some Vote Leave groups on the internet to get a measure of what a great number of Leave voters think. Leave EU is a good starting point. I would also recommend two books for you.

Kendodd · 03/01/2021 10:32

Both books are promoting Brexit btw, so other Leavers might like them.

Aria11 · 03/01/2021 10:33

I am no bitter at all, TerryHearn. Or is drinking English sparkling wine something to be ashamed of?

English sparkling wine is a massive international success story, winning awards all over the world, so am happy to do that!
Aria11 · 03/01/2021 10:53

All the better then, SouthDownsLass! I have tried it many times myself, it's not bad. I was just intrigued by everyone here referring to champagne.

Diclofenac · 03/01/2021 11:18

Thanks Brandy for reopening the Arms one last time, I'm going to miss it.
Say hello to Epic and hope 2021 is a good year for all the regulars.

🥂

Morsmordre · 03/01/2021 12:22

Cheers Brandy and many thanks for all the threads over the years! It was great to join you and other regulars one more time in the Arms 😍

Oh, before I forget.... thought I’d leave this superb artwork above my barstool for any new visitors to the Arms to enjoy as much as I did. 😘

@wherearemychickens

I did think yesterday that one benefit of Brexit may be reduced choice - read about a study the other day where when people were given a choice of 24 varieties of something, only 3% could choose, but given a choice of 6 varieties, over 25% could make the decision. So as Brexit is likely to lead to reduced consumer choice, we may be happier on the whole?
I'm still laughing about this. Do you, seriously, think that companies are going to stop exporting to the fifth largest economy in the world because they have to do a bit of paperwork? Hmm Gin
bellinisurge · 03/01/2021 13:35

And this . Thanks everyone!

Laugh away. It’s already happening - small EU companies no longer shipping to the UK because paperwork and in particular the new VAT regime is too complicated and expensive to be worth their while.

Stilltalkstotrees · 03/01/2021 14:26

Here's one for you to chuckle at @SouthDownsLass www.forbes.com/sites/carltonreid/2021/01/02/brexit-halts-sales-of-brooks-bicycle-saddles-made-in-england/

Stilltalkstotrees · 03/01/2021 14:33

You must be having a great old laugh. www.bikeradar.com/news/rose-bikes-cancels-uk-orders-brexit/

wherearemychickens · 03/01/2021 14:38

Yes, I do - it's already happening. Here's a few for starters:

twitter.com/uk_domain_names/status/1345154426978361344

Some of this is temporary whilst people see the lay of the land, but the change in VAT rules is also putting a lot of companies off by the looks of it.

The one I'm personally annoyed about is lubera.co.uk, as I've bought loads from them over the last few years, and they've said they're not shipping anything to the UK until 2022 or 2023 at the earliest. www.lubera.co.uk. Brexit is going to have a massive impact on plant and seed supply I think.
