My dears. I'm very optimistic about what's going to happen now. NI has been separated from the UK. Scotland will continue to argue for sovereignty.the UK will be cut down to size. That's a good thing. And you Brexiteers have brought it

Otellie · 01/01/2021 15:27

It's your lot now that is alone, I wonder why.

Who is my lot?

Otellie · 01/01/2021 15:28

Scotland will continue to argue. But they won't get it.

gnomeisland · 01/01/2021 15:30

Oh yes they will

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 15:30

Seems you you lot are the ones who haven't moved on. I don't see any point in campaigning to rejoin. Not now. But electoral reform, NI formal separation from the UK. Indyref2. Those are things I look forward to.

Pan2 · 01/01/2021 15:31

I want to know where my unicorn is. We were all promised soooo much...but.....nothing.

You'd almost believe it's all a con. To achieve deregulation and so pay working people less and remove their employment rights.

Surely not plan of a right wing tory govt...

Pan2 · 01/01/2021 15:33

Scotland - there's an apparent paradox here.

The English keep saying how much they 'support' Scotland economically....yet fight tooth and nail to keep it in a union of sorts. Weird.

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 15:35

Can't wait to hear how this lot respond to Scottish arguments for sovereignty and control of their territorial waters.
I'll get the 🍿 out.

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 15:37

I don't see how we would be in a strong enough position to rejoin under the same terms we had before - or better - should we wish to do that at a future date

crossstitchingnana · 01/01/2021 15:38

@LurkingLeaver

Yes, *Cross, nutters for FREEDOM! Many have tried, but not even a brand new plopper can dampen our spirits. Any reason you chose to start a new year in such a negative and miserly way??
Because we've left the EU. Nothing to celebrate. Oh unless you can get excited about no more VAT on tampons 🙄
Otellie · 01/01/2021 15:39

The chances of rejoining are pretty much zero. But dream on dreamers.

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 15:40

@crossstitchingnana Vat on sanitary products was and is not a Brexit issue

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 15:42

@Otellie , I ain't looking for it. But if you can't move on ...😂

Otellie · 01/01/2021 15:48

I moved on a long time ago. I suspect you'll be here stuck in this bitter mindset for a long time to come however.

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 15:58

@Otellie , seriously, I know it makes you feel better to think of people like me rocking back and forth clutching an EU flag but I'm really focused on the UK's path. As I predicted last year, there's a border in the Irish Sea - NI isn't coming back. You lot have already started the break up of the UK.

LurkingLeaver · 01/01/2021 16:09

Bellini, if you are so focused on the UKs path, why spend so much time with the supposed architects of its destruction??

sally067 · 01/01/2021 16:09

@Pan2

I want to know where my unicorn is. We were all promised soooo much...but.....nothing.

You'd almost believe it's all a con. To achieve deregulation and so pay working people less and remove their employment rights.

A destruction of public services, worker rights, non white immigration and a return to all the Britain rules the world bollocks as inequality rises and the poor learn to know their place as Rees Mogg tells them and doff their caps to their Eton betters. And some will be glad to have a blue passport, wtf.

Leavers will always blame someone else though. It will now be "we let too many EU citizens stay and they are taking our jobs."

The tabloids fuel this madness. Who owns them? Rich, powerful people who don't give a damn for the many. They have won by blaming "jolly foreigner".

Mass ignorance on a seismic scale. You can rip apart Leavers arguments with so much ease but many refuse to back down despite seeing the madness of it all.

We are led by a narcissisic idiot who wants to be liked and who wants power. His cabinet his filled with right-wing sociopaths who wrote Britainnia Unchained, a book about a bonfire of workers rights. Our Home Secretary wants to bring back capital punishment.

Beggars belief.

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 16:10

Brexit will cut the UK down to it's proper size - England and Wales alone. Me? can't wait. Brexit will be the sovereignty gift that keeps on giving.
Sorry, Wales, you're stuck on England's path. For now.

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 16:11

@LurkingLeaver , because I love watching how you lot deal with the reality of what you've done.

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 16:22

Personally,. I waste my time on SM because it pisses me of how much wilful ignorance and sharing of misinformation there is, and to a large part has brought us to this 'happy' day....

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 16:24

Can't wait to see who gets the blame now.

HeyHeyImABeLeaver · 01/01/2021 16:27

How independent do Scotland want to be though?
Sounds like NS wants a finger in both the EU pie and the U.K. pie but unfortunately, as we know, it doesn't quite work like that.

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 16:28

Up to them. Not up to you.

Otellie · 01/01/2021 16:31

seriously, I know it makes you feel better to think of people like me rocking back and forth clutching an EU flag

Why would it make me feel better? I feel sorry for you that you can't move on. So you've sat on pretty much just the Brexit threads for years spitting out anger and bile as a result of that. Which is a shame. That's pretty much my only view of you. I guess that's how complicated grief is. 🤷

bellinisurge · 01/01/2021 16:36

Ah, you read the thing on the BBC about how anyone who hates Brexit is grieving.
Yess, I still think it's dumb but I'm waiting for the referendum in NI. And Indyref 2.
That's the future. And you lot have brought it closer.
Brexit is done. I can accept that. Can you accept the break up of the UK that you've initiated?
