listening, we get the politicians we deserve, frankly. If we (people like you and me) are not prepared to go out and knock on doors to talk to the public who are more interested in EastEnders (substitute any other TV show), then the professional civil servants end up running the show and taking all the important decisions. But not many people are more interested in the mechanisms of how decisions that affect millions of people are reached. This thread alone demonstrates that very clearly. I have attempted to discuss the issues that fed into my rather diffuse dissatisfaction with the EU and why I felt the EU was wrong/misguided or could do better, and the knee jerk riposte has been "ZENOPHOBE" and MORONIC. That is so obviously a lazy cop out. The person who called me moronic hasn't even bothered to return and reply. Derxa, who I've disagreed with on other topics, even thought it was odd.
