This place is just for a short period of self-satisfaction. Leave them to it. There’s nothing for anyone else here

I hope everyone has a healthy and happier 2021

Haggertyjane · 31/12/2020 10:25

What would have been a good deal and everybody happy with the outcome (apart from remainders) is very tarnished by the economic disaster caused worldwide by the pandemic.

BrandySours · 31/12/2020 10:28

🐧!!!!!
Hi! ❤️👋Brew
(no code words from me, other than the 🐧... 😂)

Stilltalks - happy new year to you too Wine

Aria - I am a pleasant person! Thank you for acknowledging that 😉😂
And I swear, so what? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jason - no offence taken Wine Happy new year to you

Yellow " I refuse to be drawn"
Yep! Me too now
I've said my piece & explained why I won't be sucked back into the swamp - I won't be drawn back in again ❤️

(...Other than to respond to this nonsense by a PP):
when you have the vaccine I suggest you use your 'new freedom' to refuse the part made by EU migrants.

As previously stated, I don't give a single, solitary fuck about where people come from 🤷🏻‍♀️
Am perplexed as to this obsession of yours with needing to know where people are born/live. Purity spirals are where madness lies 🤦🏻‍♀️

The Arms threads themselves were pulled because of what was said to me
No, they weren't
Please stop rewriting history
A few posts were deleted which had said something to you
That's it

Everyone else who's posted this morning:
Happy New Year!
And huge love to all ❤️

I love how someone who was very rude and vocal about anyone who voted leave , that we had no brains, and had ruined the posters life and that of their family is suddenly ask us to apologise.
I think this person also admitted to not being in the UK, but I might be wrong on that bit.

BrandySours · 31/12/2020 10:31

Moving on.....!

A little bit of trivia!

I saw this yesterday & it amused me - it's from the archives (2008)
I've blanked out the MP & their party

Can you guess who it was??!!

Oh God, Brandy’s on the verge of saying some her best friends are European.

RedtreesRedtrees · 31/12/2020 10:43

Not the Clegg article again. Have you been asleep for the last few years Brandy?

Whythesadface · 31/12/2020 10:45

That's funny.

BrandySours · 31/12/2020 10:46

Not Clegg, no!

Try again...

BrandySours, you claim you don't care where the researchers come from but, even if that's true (and I have my own views on this) those EU migrants upon whom you all relied to solve your problems care about the racism they have experienced in the UK since Brexit and that's why they are all leaving. You will be left with your own kind then, it will be great fun to see people like you trying to replace them.

Kaliorphic · 31/12/2020 10:48

I don't really get the point of this continuous bickering. What is it fighting about it at this stage really setting out to achieve? It changes nothing. Whichever way people voted the Brexit vote won. And that's that. Time to move on surely.

BrandySours · 31/12/2020 10:49

Oh God, Brandy’s on the verge of saying some her best friends are European.

Confused No clue what leap of logic you're attempting here

And, tbh, I don't really give a toss 🤷🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
RedtreesRedtrees · 31/12/2020 10:50

@Kaliorphic there is no moving on. There never will be.

RedtreesRedtrees · 31/12/2020 10:53

“ And, tbh, I don't really give a toss”

That explains everything.

BrandySours · 31/12/2020 10:54

BrandySours, you claim you don't care where the researchers come from but, even if that's true (and I have my own views on this)

I don't care where they're from, or what their politics are
Why would I?

And why would I lie about not caring about it?

(For avoidance of doubt, the above are rhetorical questions. They do not require a response)

You will be left with your own kind then

You seem to be obsessed with peoples nationality Confused
It's weird

OP posts:
Aria11 · 31/12/2020 10:57

BrandySours, I don't give a damn about what you think. And given that it was not obvious to you, I was not referring to your nationality when I mentioned your kind but rather your intellect. Its obvious from what you write that you are one of those with a PhD from Oxbridge, multiple postdocs and grants and international experience. I am also sure you speak more than four languages, including swearing.

Andante57 · 31/12/2020 10:58

I can accept alternative opinions but seeing people in the thrall of a cult is tragic

Hmm.....I remember some pretty weird opinions from remainer regulars. For example ‘How mean and unreasonable to describe Jean-Claude Juncker as an alcoholic. He’s suffering from the infirmities of old age’ and ‘at the end of the war [after Hitler’s atrocities had come to light] most of the upper classes were pro Nazi’.
Actually I think those were both Peregrina gems.
None of the other regulars took issue with these statements - on the contrary they rushed to defend Peregrina.

Whythesadface · 31/12/2020 10:58

It's the seven stages of grief.

Shock and denial. This is a state of disbelief and numbed feelings.
Pain and guilt. ...
Anger and bargaining. ...
Depression. ...
The upward turn. ...
Reconstruction and working through. ...
Acceptance and hope.

I think lots of us skipped a few stages and others are stuck in a loop. It's time to reconstruct who and what the UK is and the trade deals are proof people will trade with us outside the EU.

BrandySours · 31/12/2020 11:00

I don't really get the point of this continuous bickering. What is it fighting about it at this stage really setting out to achieve? It changes nothing.

Yep!

I agree

I've nothing to fight & no animosity towards anyone

I (understandably I think) get irritated by people constantly prodding & picking, and I wish they'd just go elsewhere to goad for conflict tbh

But I shall be ignoring any wankery from now on - I can't be fucking arsed with it

As I said before, life is far too short & precious to waste on stupid, nonsensical arguments

“As I said before, life is far too short & precious to waste on stupid, nonsensical arguments”

And there in a nutshell is the Merry Brexiteer. Off to their retirement home in the sunny uplands whilst the rest of us have to sort out ‘reconstructing the UK’

BrandySours · 31/12/2020 11:10

Go ahead and develop your own meme-based research for Covid. I am sure it will get you far.

Comradesally · 31/12/2020 12:01

So, the only and best place on MN is open again and I missed it!

Back in the loving arms of the fine B Arms on this day of upmost JUBILANCE and optimism and hope.

This.

Bellini I would never condone that type of insult but a Brexiter cannot meaningfully apologise for someone else's insult purely because they share Brexit beliefs. Because we do not act as one, we don't even know each other, we are individuals (and hence not a cult as you seem to believe). If you want to see cult-like behaviour, I refer you to the examples given in Andante57's post above, of which there are many more if you cared to look.

I'm personally well "over it", because apparently, "we won" (who knew? Smile). I will ignore people who come in, drop a quick snarky insult out of nowhere then skulk off again. It wouldn't happen in real life so perhaps this is the only outlet left to them.

The bickering (you are so right Kaliorphic) is tragic. It's up to us what we make of it now. I intend to unashamedly enjoy the wins (quietly, not crossing a line into gloating) because the big work is still to be done. It will be done whether former Remainers want to join in or not. I and the rest of my EU-national-but-UK based family will be celebrating tonight as we anticipate a much happier 2021.

Happy new year to everyone, whatever your views 🍾🥂🎇
