At some point your little party has to end and reality will hit home. Good luck with your hangover.

Thanks for your kind concern 🍷😍

Wow. I am not completely sure whether this thread is serious. But if it is it makes me so depressed about our version of democracy. On Friday on one of the post election threads, I saw a comment along the lines of 'Labour voters are saying rude, insulting and offensive things about Conservative voters, and suggesting they are awful people. This is all one sided and Conservative voters aren't saying anything rude about Labour voters'. On this thread there are some comments about labour voters which seem to me just as bad as the things I have seen said about Conservative voters.

Our first past the post two party political system is so divisive and surely fuels the vitriol and sometimes near hatred that the two sides often appear to have for each other. The country is so split that i despair for the future as I don't know if the split will ever be healed.

Saucery · 15/12/2019 10:13

Oh Emily, she’s such a charmer. Wonder why no one wants the party she sneers from? It’s such a mystery.

DustyDiamond · 15/12/2019 10:16

Caroline Flint has just said that Emily Thornberry "told me Thank God her constituents weren't as stupid as mine [for voting for Boris and Brexit]". 😱😱😱

I saw it!!

Shocked, not shocked...

Yet another anti-working class, snobby mask-slip from odious Emily 🙄🙄🙄

Where?

Regular posters on these threads are a broad mix across the political spectrum

Just seen someone doing a crap and insulting impression of a Northern, working class voter, Memorial. I’ll pop over to see if you’ve pulled them up on that, shall I? Hmm
Or maybe not, because after all, the People have spoken and made it quite clear that the patrician, patronising, wokerati aren’t welcome to govern the whole country.

Limer · 15/12/2019 10:20

Memorial are you very young? The great majority of people have voted in many elections, for many different parties over the years. So most people have been on both sides, and probably will be again in the future. There's no split, just people of all political persuasions getting on with their lives, glad that at last the country can move forward out of the stalemate that's persisted for the last 3+ years.

howabout · 15/12/2019 10:21

Morning all Brew

Absolutely love the new lyrics Dusty Star

So true about the civil service being full of "experts" in something completely not in their job description.

Tempted to check but afaik the NHS has already had more than £350m pw extra since 2016 and more still if you count the extra going into social care - sort of geeky stuff that floats my boat so may get to it later after DD3 and I have caught up with Strictly on iplayer - news blackout till then. Glitterball

SingingLily · 15/12/2019 10:21

Caught up now.

It's a bit busy in here, isn't it? Extinction burst all over the place. Don't be concerned by it.

Stephen Kinnock has some real advantages over the other contenders, not least because his principles are firmly grounded. However, I don't realistically expect him to get anywhere, which is a pity.

Another wise head that Labour might want to consult is Stephen Harper, former Canadian PM. He knows a thing or two about resurrecting a party on life support.

AutumnRose1 · 15/12/2019 10:25

If, and I emphasise if, Emily really said that, she’s learned nowt.

I remember seeing her post on Twitter with the England flag. I was my flabber was was way beyond gasted.

Pumperthepumper · 15/12/2019 10:28

Friends, I have to go out now but I’ll check back in later to see the stats about the 350 million per week going to the NHS (thanks to that PP!) and to see if anyone is ready to celebrate all the post-Brexit utopia - such as no trade deals with Trump and continued peace in NI without fiddling with the GFA and trade deals without lowering food standards and no increased pharma costs through trade deals with America etc etc etc.

Can’t wait for 1st Feb! Hooray for Brexit!

howabout · 15/12/2019 10:28

Don't know how to link but there's footage of Boris yesterday being stalked by activists shouting "Tory scum". He turned round and with a cheery grin retorted "Lefty tossers".

Time to stop taking insults so seriously.

On that note top Red on Red bantz from yesterday:

Ayesha Hazarika:

Ash. I spent almost a decade as a Labour adviser. I helped draft the Equality Act. The last piece of legislation the last Labour govt passed. You’re literally a communist. Walks like a supermodel. Fucks like someone who just helped gift the Tories a landslide victory.

I wonder if Ayesha felt the same way after Ed Miliband, who she advised, got 3% less of the vote share in 2015.

Judging by her media ubiquity I’d guess not!

Shock Grin

SingingLily · 15/12/2019 10:29

I honestly believe that she couldn't see anything wrong with it, Autumn. She did penance on the backbenches for it but that didn't teach her anything.

Hmm, someone who learns nothing and forgets nothing....

Pumperthepumper · 15/12/2019 10:29

Hope all the weird Labour talk has passed by then, seems weird to celebrate Labour losing rather than all the benefits of Brexit, but I’m new here. Lot to learn!

Hollycatberry · 15/12/2019 10:30

Morning all, thanks for the new thread. Just wanted to share the cartoon from the telegraph today... have to say it sums up how I feel, like we are leaving a dark tunnel of hate, division and paralysis.

The Brexit Arms: Here it is! MERRY BREXIT!!!
SingingLily · 15/12/2019 10:30

Pumper, chuck, all that was sooo last year. Those debates have been done to death and we are sooo over it now. Do pop back when you've got something new and original to say.

SingingLily · 15/12/2019 10:31

Morning, Holly. My goodness. Sums it all up nicely.

DustyDiamond · 15/12/2019 10:34

Confused

Not sure where you got the idea that posters here will dance for you, but it's not the way we roll

Hooray for Brexit!

Now this I can get on board with 🤩

Hooray for Brexit indeed! 🙌🙌🙌

Howabout, I've just read the bit about Boris to Mr Lily. He's laughing so hard that even the cats look startled.

Hulagirla · 15/12/2019 10:34

On this thread there are some comments about labour voters which seem to me just as bad as the things I have seen said about Conservative voters

I suggest you go on twitter hun, you’ll get a nasty surprise when you see all the shit people say about Tory voters. This is just one thread, why are you crying about it?

Thank you to all the fat, clapped cunts who voted Tory
People celebrating now are the most entitled, sneering, embittered, sneering and nasty fuckwits. I’d rather be with the decent people
I hate Tory voters. You sick bastards
young tories that think they’re edgy for being conservative are the fucking worst like congrats you’re a raging racist and hate the poor aren’t u cool and different
I want to scrap Tory voters man to man. Meet me and I’ll show you
If you support Boris, you do not support me. We are not friends, under any circumstances.
this morning, my nana asked me if it was voting day tomorrow & i told her no its friday cos shes gunna vote tory hahaha stupid old cow

And that is just a fraction of what’s on there.

DustyDiamond · 15/12/2019 10:35

Brilliant Holly 😍

OP posts:
Hollycatberry · 15/12/2019 10:36

Oh and Caroline Flint is spilling the tea on the Labour Party...

It wouldn’t surprise me that Thornberry said this. She has obvious contempt for the British public outside on the m25

The Brexit Arms: Here it is! MERRY BREXIT!!!
AutumnRose1 · 15/12/2019 10:36

Am I the only one disappointed to see that “bantz”?

Professional standards?

SingingLily · 15/12/2019 10:37

Morning, Hulagirl, ☕️ on the house for you.

Pumperthepumper · 15/12/2019 10:39

@DustyDiamond HowAbout is going to do it if she has time:

Can’t wait! Brexit! Money! No trump! Trade deals without reducing standards! Etc. Sorry, I know this is old news to some of you, but I didn’t believe it until last night so it’s new to me. Feb 1st, here we come!

Really am away now chaps, catch up later 🧡
