Westminsterenders: Talent or Colour

RTB and BCF are presumably busy with more important things. I'm clearly not qualified to start a Westminsterenders thread - but somebody has to take control and collect the waifs and strays.

The party of no talent want to introduce no colour into our lives.

6 days to the election.

Johnson is still a liar.

Corbyn is still apparently loved by Labour members and hated by everyone else.

Swinson is still a charming PTA chair.

Most of the utterly abhorrent shit that Boris says and does, doesn't get largely reported in the news. The same as his father's recent disgraceful comments were only really reported by the Guardian.

....who knew?

derxa · 09/12/2019 19:48

we're told JC is unpopular. We're told he's unelectable. we're shown polls (where we don't actually know the raw data behind them) that show he is less popular than Boris. He's appalling

Mockers That link is really worth a watch.

Also on now Ed Vaizey is showing that he really is a brown nosed, Tory acolyte, dripping with sweat privilege.

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 09/12/2019 19:55

Pinboard Our constituencies sound so similar. Polls in November showed tories first, then libdems and labour in joint second on exactly the same percentage. The local LibDem candidate seems to have more local support, and 2 out of 3 tactical voting sites recommend libdems (3rd says “undecided”).
However, labour were 2nd in 2017...

raskolnikova · 09/12/2019 19:58

Or, who knew rock bottom had a basement?

If Johnson gets a majority, I'm sure he'll go from rock bottom to earth's core soon enough.

(Patel and Rees-Mogg are already there.)

Squid I honestly don't think people get how hard things are. Good luck with the rest of Winter, have a feeling its going to be messy one Sad

lonelyplanetmum · 09/12/2019 20:11

I just had a rather basic, slightly comforting , obvious but positive thought.

A lot of the time, looking at the polls, listening to LBC/local radio etc, etc you feel as if (apart a few MNetters) you are a lone voice in a sea of purple/blue. However this isn't true. There a millions and millions who see Johnson and his ERG chums for what they are. Admittedly not enough millions, but certainly millions.

So when on Thursday you wake in the middle of the night with a sinking heart you are not alone.

New Thread

The Brexit Party have finally graced our downstep. For DH, of course, not me.

Not had a LD leaflet all weekend. The shock!

BigChocFrenzy · 09/12/2019 21:43

Look at who the Tories choose to ally themselves with .....

From that C4 undercover report - re the BXP councillor who made dreadful racist comments:

"He is part of a pro-Brexit coalition between the Brexit Party and Conservatives that is now Hartlepool Borough Council’s largest political group."
