Westminsterenders: Talent or Colour

RTB and BCF are presumably busy with more important things. I'm clearly not qualified to start a Westminsterenders thread - but somebody has to take control and collect the waifs and strays.

The party of no talent want to introduce no colour into our lives.

6 days to the election.

Johnson is still a liar.

Corbyn is still apparently loved by Labour members and hated by everyone else.

Swinson is still a charming PTA chair.

I do all of those things but I have British nationality.Sinterklaas has also visited our house. Perhaps I’m not the right sort of British...

I remember meeting someone who was going to become a friend and discovering that she was from the Netherlands talking about my love of Miffy and being totally confused when she said she had never heard of them.
( But both of us were living in Mexico so not sure about the whole treating it as home thing)

EU migrants have been able to “treat the UK as if it’s part of their own country” for too long, Boris Johnson said yesterday as he reprised the core message of Vote Leave’s 2016 EU referendum campaign.

Same stuff as has been frequently said (although sometimes with entertaining wriggly coyness) by particular MN posters (I won't specify their position on Brexit and the Tories):

(1) You immigrants should only visibly exhibit English language, culture and 'values' and you must always pass the "cricket test" otherwise you'll be considered suspiciously unpatriotic and unintegrated.

(2) Simultaneously, no matter how much you immigrants integrate, the UK will never be 'your country' because of 'blood and soil,' and you'll be considered suspiciously entitled and presumptuous if you expect to be treated like a fully British citizen.

Very odd here, even though has been a safe labour for a long time usually get lots of other parties leaflets & see posters/boards advocating Tories/lib dem but nothing apart from labour leaflets & lots of labour window stickers etc, I’m presuming the other parties putting efforts elsewhere.

Sitting here in the local hospital coffee shop waiting for DW.

Depressed beyond words that they have changed the free blue badge parking from flash badge on exit, to the badge holder has to visit the parking office with their badge to verify it's them - at which point ticket is validated and exit is free.

No problem with the process. But the immediate effect has been to free up at least 50% of the BB spaces, which demonstrates how many cunts there are out there. And these are the cunty cunts we are hoping will think of others Sad Fat fucking chance.

Being in the USA staying up is easier but I'm really not sure I could face watching the very slow car crash I currently envisage.
I probably will though.

DW and I will stay up until fatigue hits her. In 2017 that was about 3ish ? I stayed up until it was confirmed as mathematically impossible for a majority.

Aiming to stay up until the overall outcome seems clear.

Maybe Boris will lose his seat by 5 votes ?

This is correct, and in fact it's likely the figure given for the number of food banks is an underestimate.

This is exactly what I feel about DW, who's done all this plus had children, volunteered for Cancer Research and contributed to the cultural life of the country. What else would Johnson have her do before she's allowed to consider it her "own" country and home?

I am trying to be optimistic. That through;

  1. tactical voting
  2. undecideds
  3. Yooff vote who largely haven't been asked or they haven't responded
  4. shy opposers to Tory right wing ( One Nationers who are keeping an opposing LibDem/Lab vote to themselves)
  5. my optimistic nature

I can hope to remain up long enough to see some heads roll and a pathway made toward a hung Parliament. Mrs Pan will stay up to the exit poll news.
