Westminstenders: Register to Vote

The closing date for registration is this Tuesday

The weekend has seen the leaders question time debates.

Johnson failed to answer a question and the BBC edited later edited footage to change laughter at him to applause.

Swinson continues to prove that the Lib Dem campaign planners don't understand the electorate. They based the campaign around her and the more the public see her and the more she opens her gob she proves she's the witless headgirl who really knows fuck all.

Corbyn has now adopted a neutral 2nd referendum position. Far too late.

Jo Johnson apparently said that a good election manifesto is one people aren’t talking about 48 hrs later, and it seems that the Conservatives really have gone for that strategy.

Johnson had promised a manifesto for change yet of the three main parties it seems far from that. It avoids controversy for the most part, but also doesn't offer solutions to some of our biggest problems like social care. But with the Tories so ahead in the polls, the status quo and making sure they don't have a repeat of the 'dementia tax' car crash seems to be the order of the day. Because Brexit is going to going to provide a magic solution instead...

Meanwhile the Labour Party have gone completely the other way and really have gone for it and come up with ideas. With a mixed response from the public and press.

And I still can't tell you what is in the LD one, cos Prince Andrew...

This week should see the election come into focus as postal voting starts. As it stands its hard to bet on anything but a Tory majority.

Tory message is simple and coherent to all: Get Brexit Done.

It is as bent as a three pound note, but with a little help from their media friends, the "Good Old Boris" line is still playing with large sections of the public.

Labour by contrast are descending into incomprehensible babble: We will do this and this and this, but first we will do this and this, but only if....

And JoJo 'Next PM' MamanBebe has started rowing back on that now that she sees how many people don't like her confusing 'Revoke' pledge.

As Abe Lincoln meant to say, You can fool most of the people most of the time...

(But look on the Bright Side: Tories get to own their shit. Corbyn defenestrated after an 83-style humiliation. Libs shown up for the devious two-faced snakes who voted for the bedroom tax, etc.)

It's still depressing.

It's A Boris Landslide!

I'm with you. Feel very despairing and have a kind of seething rage at the utter ignorance of people who are going to drag us all down with them. Wish I was one of those people who breezily don't care about the election and won't think two things about it.😢

@Tanith. Thank you so much for the Jewishvoiceforlabour website. I have honestly felt like I was losing my mind over this issue. To read those articles was so helpful. There is a phrase used “ the weaponisation of anti semitism”, which properly explains the current situation, in my view.
Bellini, I respect your right to have come to your own conclusions, and I know you have agonised over this, please have a look, if you haven’t already done so, it might help.

And JoJo 'Next PM' MamanBebe has started rowing back on that now that she sees how many people don't like her confusing 'Revoke' pledge.

It’s not so much confusing as demonstrates that they are not the moderate centrist party that I think many people are crying out for that will look to bring a broken country together whilst the two main parties veer off to the extreme. Rather it’s a party that’s little more than a special interest group locked in their own echo chamber rather than one that’s genuinely equipped to be in the position to which they aspire and lead a Government.

I think they’ll come to regret their hubris come 13 December. As you can probably tell, I’m angry with them for helping ensure I’m politically homeless. At the moment I’m planning to vote Green, if only to help ensure that the environment is given the profile it needs.... Rant over....
