The closing date for registration is this Tuesday

The weekend has seen the leaders question time debates.

Johnson failed to answer a question and the BBC edited later edited footage to change laughter at him to applause.

Swinson continues to prove that the Lib Dem campaign planners don't understand the electorate. They based the campaign around her and the more the public see her and the more she opens her gob she proves she's the witless headgirl who really knows fuck all.

Corbyn has now adopted a neutral 2nd referendum position. Far too late.

Jo Johnson apparently said that a good election manifesto is one people aren’t talking about 48 hrs later, and it seems that the Conservatives really have gone for that strategy.

Johnson had promised a manifesto for change yet of the three main parties it seems far from that. It avoids controversy for the most part, but also doesn't offer solutions to some of our biggest problems like social care. But with the Tories so ahead in the polls, the status quo and making sure they don't have a repeat of the 'dementia tax' car crash seems to be the order of the day. Because Brexit is going to going to provide a magic solution instead...

Meanwhile the Labour Party have gone completely the other way and really have gone for it and come up with ideas. With a mixed response from the public and press.

And I still can't tell you what is in the LD one, cos Prince Andrew...

This week should see the election come into focus as postal voting starts. As it stands its hard to bet on anything but a Tory majority.

I have been sceptical of some of the claims of the BBC being biased against Labour but not any more. The 'error' in replacing the footage of Boris's shambolic appearance at the cenotaph with footage from 2016, the 'error' in editing out the audience laughing at him in the leaders debates and now them telling Labour that the Andrew Neil interview had already been confirmed. It's disgraceful.

A huge condom full of tripe should suffice

And now we have her promoting DC's blog to her millions of followers this is ridiculous

Was probably a matter of time.. Dominic Cummings back on his blog... dominiccummings.com - warns Brexiteers there is 'real possibility of a hung parliament' and a second referendum

Absolutely no different to the Stalin era doctoring of photographs to remove "unpeople" in the USSR.

dontcallmelen · 27/11/2019 17:44

Violet Yy I was really loathe to believe it, but I bloody well do now & it has become increasingly apparent the last couple of weeks it’s disgraceful.

Labour Anti-Semitism goes back at least to Ernie Bevin who did his best to ensure the infant state of Israel was strangled at birth

Prior to WWII (and founding of Israel) AS was fairly standard left and right. The Holocaust shamed it into abeyance, but it’s been rumbling away underground ever since. It’s never really ended.

The Arab-Israeli conflict gives it a new focus but I don’t think that’s what’s behind the rise of AS across Europe.

Piggywaspushed · 27/11/2019 17:55

My goodness the Jewish Chronicle is naked in its bias.

According to a mate who’s a BBC correspondent - BBC news is in crisis.

Patrick Maguire @patrickkmaguire
Just spoken to a Brussels source who's seen the YouGov MRP. He said: "I don't like it, but I'll have to go along with it."

Don't know which way it's going but suggests to me either huge Tory majority or close to hung parliament if this is genuine....

FadingStar · 27/11/2019 18:00

I feel sick with nerves. If it is a huge Tory majority I will just concentrate on my own election (NI) and hope that our Remain parties get a good result to make some kind of case for special status for us.

RedToothBrush · 27/11/2019 18:02

Rumour Mill saying YouGov MRP says significant tory majority....

OP posts:
TheMShip · 27/11/2019 18:05

That would fit with the Best for Britain MRP. So I can't say I'm surprised.

@BBCNewsnight
has junked its VoxPopsVille item in rainy downtown VoxPopsVille market where everyone voted Brexit and says Corbyn is a terrorist, and they’re heading to Leeds to meet the Jewish candidate and the Jewish canvassers.

Not.

Canvassing for my Jewish Labour MP here in Leeds, in company of Jewish Labour party members. Tory candidate suspended for antisemitism. Just saying.

Piggywaspushed · 27/11/2019 18:11

Meanwhile, the Tory party refused to consider deselecting this toad:

My DS's constituency so I am hoping the student vote will keep him out.

Piggywaspushed · 27/11/2019 18:13

Excuse ignorance : what's an MRP?

MockersFactCheckMN · 27/11/2019 18:17

Stupid, stupid people.

I think Steven Pound put it very well in 2010:

"The People have spoken. The bastards."

Multilevel regression and post-stratification (MRP) is a way of producing estimates of opinion and attitudes for small defined geographic areas. It works by combining information from large national samples (for example tens of thousands of respondents) with ONS and census data.

From the survation website www.survation.com/what-is-mrp/

What is MRP and can it predict the result of the UK general election?

It stands for multi-level regression and post-stratification. Its a polling method. YouGov used it to accurately predict the 2017 result and the method was used to predict the 2016 US election.

Datapraxis has used an MRP model already and is suggesting a Tory majority of 48.

Best for Britain (Pro remain) has used an MRP model and is suggesting a majority of 57.

RE Best for Britain:
The founder of Focaldata – which ran the data – Justin Ibbetts, added: ‘There are 14 Conservative held seats where the margin of victory is lower than 2%. Clearly this election is on a knife edge, where even small changes in the number of votes each party wins could swing key seats.’

metro.co.uk/2019/11/27/tactical-voting-in-57-seats-could-stop-conservative-majority-new-poll-says-11228131/

Of course the polls could affect the result...

Itll be interesting to see if YouGov is in the same ballpark...

Even if Jesus Himself returned and told Tory voters that the Tories were a shower of shite and Brexit a fecking disaster, they would STILL put their faith in Johnson. There are none so blind...

Apileofballyhoo · 27/11/2019 18:38

Polls are going to depress the hell out of me if those guesses are correct.

dontcallmelen · 27/11/2019 18:40

Fading I totally concur, I think the stars & planets are aligned & no one or nothing can stop this sheer collective madness, I must admit I am throughly despairing tonight.
