The Brexit Party aren't doing one.

The Labour Party apparently can't afford theirs.

The Conservatives will just lie anyway.

And the LDs got upstaged by Prince Andrew's resignation from royal duties for being a fuckwit.

3 weeks to go...

And I would vote Labour in a heartbeat to stop the Brexit Party in my constituency. Already said that mybrainhurtsalot . But apparently, spoiling my ballot is the same as not voting at all and not the same as voting Labour in a solid Tory seat.

placemats · 24/11/2019 18:56

Fading Brace yourself.

There will be another GE next year. Northern Ireland will unite, finally, with Ireland (with reparations of course). This Brexit is going to be costly for the UK.

FadingStar · 24/11/2019 18:58

Placemats reunification would be a dream come true. I can't believe I might be alive to see it!

SwedishEdith · 24/11/2019 18:59

Getting stuff every day from LDs. Now one from a former Lab councillor saying vote LD. I'd love to say it's going to be close but the latest predictions don't show that.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 24/11/2019 18:59

Northern Ireland will unite

That doesnt happen until 2024 according to Data in Star Trek Grin

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 24/11/2019 18:59

welsh

I was thinking that

Ive just had a look and ukip got 3.5 ish percent....not voting for them

Green was 2%

And independent was 0.5%

And i think they have to Have 5% to not lose their deposit

Might do green...she was lovely to dd when she was talking to her yesterday. Recommended looking on the how they work for you website if she was undecided as that might help her make up her mind

FadingStar · 24/11/2019 19:00

😂😂😂 Wasn't that episode banned in the UK because Data said that? Wouldn't it be crazy if he was right?

mybrainhurtsalot · 24/11/2019 19:01

FPTP is such a problem. Not good for democracy for so many people to feel there’s no point voting or that a vote is wasted in their area.

MockersFactCheckMN · 24/11/2019 19:05

Wasn't that episode banned in the UK because Data said that?

I wouldn't set too much store by the quality of History teaching in the Federation. In Voyager Chakotay thinks John Glenn was the first human in space.

Tanith · 24/11/2019 19:09

I think the polls themselves are even worse for democracy. They should be banned in the run up to a national election.

bellinisurge · 24/11/2019 19:11

I remember that episode too@MockersFactCheckMN . And I'm sure I saw the Data one.
I'm afraid Mr Sulu, who I usually like (he's a strong voice against Trump) recently said that men can have periods.
Oh dear. Nothing can be relied upon any more.

FadingStar · 24/11/2019 19:15

Bellini he also signed that dreadful, woman hating letter along with other gay men like that creep Jessen whereby they tried to give away women's consent to men for private, single sex spaces.

FadingStar · 24/11/2019 19:15

Terrible grammar in my post there. Blush

Outsomnia · 24/11/2019 19:17

Looking like a Tory win now. Good, let them clean up their own mess.

It will hopefully be a disaster for them. But at least they will be the architects of their own misfortune.

FadingStar · 24/11/2019 19:19

They'll bring us all down with them however. And won't clean up anything.

ListeningQuietly · 24/11/2019 19:19

Many students are still not registered
How on earth can you know that ?
My kids are both registered here - have been since they turned 16
the fact that they have both also registered at Uni is their own business.
For all you know students live in a Marginal but study in Bristol / Cambridge
so it makes NO sense for them to register at Uni

And as the census data is 8.5 years out of date, we have no idea what the population of under 21s in any area is

thecatfromjapan · 24/11/2019 19:28

Listening

You're right. I was given a pep talk by a university-based friend.

I don't know - I took it on trust.

It kind of fits with experience over previous years, though, when constituents have fed back their student children's dismay at finding they aren't registered to vote.

And there have been big registration drives at a university college near to us, which have registered a high percentage of students - but, presumably, have not managed to get all the student body registered.

So, yes, I did take it on trust.

My own student sprog is registered - but it would be kind of weird if he weren't.

Lots of his friends aren't, apparently.

Piggywaspushed · 24/11/2019 19:29

I just did an 'isidewith' quiz and came out as more left wing than Corbyn. Not sure where that leaves me...

thecatfromjapan · 24/11/2019 19:33

And DH was out canvassing an area that is used primarily as housing for student medical staff today. He reported that a stunningly high number hadn't got round to registering to vote.

You can see why - the accommodation is transitory, they're working bloody long hours, many are no longer registered within the family home - it happens.

So I would hazard a guess that my friend is probably right.

ContinuityError · 24/11/2019 19:42

Emma Kennedy @EmmaKennedy

If anyone wants to feel a bit more positive, the national polls bear absolutely no resemblance to the canvassing polling we’ve been doing in Surrey Heath.

Absolutely none.

Hope. Don’t give up. Never give up.

Surrey Heath is Gove.

thecatfromjapan · 24/11/2019 19:44

Thanks, ContinuityError and EmmaKennedy.

🌞 Bit of sunshine.

Mistigri · 24/11/2019 19:50

Surrey Heath is Gove

That might be enough to convert me to religion. 🙏

BestIsWest · 24/11/2019 19:52

DS is not registered at uni because we live in a marginal. He’ll be voting here.
DH was talking to our neighbours earlier when someone delivered their postal votes. They’d already received one lot. They are going to report tomorrow.

ListeningQuietly · 24/11/2019 19:53

Continuity
I know its just a vibe but when I'm driving around the county and country it backs up your view.
I do not party campaign - long story
but I'm looking forward to dissecting the polls afterwards ;-)
