I am just coming at it through a different lens I guess. Smile

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 11:21

"austere religious scholar" 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fucks sake. Not ‘contemptuous murdering death-culty fuckwit’ I think that would be a more appropriate description.

But. New-speak.

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 11:23

Can’t wait for the guardian’s description.

‘Generally nice pious fellow, albeit a touch grumpy at times’?

BelleHathor · 28/10/2019 11:43

WAPO is rumoured to be the "deep states" paper of choice and being staffed by former security service operatives. I am sure a lot of people are worried by Trump mentioning they got a lot of documents about the formation and funding of ISIS 😉.

In UK news theres a coup going on over at the people's vote, couldn't happen to a bunch of nicer people 😋 order-order.com/2019/10/28/chaos-peoples-vote-hq/

DustyDiamond · 28/10/2019 11:57

couldn't happen to a bunch of nicer people 😋

😂😂
They are all so power crazy!

Everything I ever see of Heseltine I'm gobsmacked by blatant he is about everything being about 'power'

The rest of them are a bunch of prima donnas - they are so caught up in their own hubris they're blind to the bigger picture

(Same goes for the hard Brexit wing as for the hard remain wing imo by the way - they are all completely out of touch with the mostly quiet, majority mainstream)

bellinisurge · 28/10/2019 12:03

Do or die, I'm never eating chocolate again.
[nom nom nom] S'all their fault [nomnomnom]😂😂😂

BelleHathor · 28/10/2019 12:23

Hubris will be their downfall fingers crossed. It's the old saying 'power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely' . As much as it pains with the constant delays it has led to a lot more people 'waking up' to the games people will play to 'keep' power. 🤞

DustyDiamond · 28/10/2019 12:27

Agree Belle

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 12:37

Grin here’s some more for you. 🍫 😂

😊 Dusty 👍
And now for a little light relief thanks to Wapo hashtag lol !

Lorena Bobbit, pioneering 90s gender reassignment surgeon, dies at age 48. #WaPoDeathNotices

Pablo Escobar, noted nasal inhalation advocate and purveyor of global free trade passes away in state sponsored action #WaPoDeathNotices

"8/9/19: Jeffrey Epstein, philanthropist and investor, died tomorrow at the age of 66. His unforeseen death, which was foreseen by virtually everyone, will surely lead to widely-debunked conspiracy theories on far-right websites."

The powers that be really do believe the people are stupid!

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 12:46

Haha 😂

Belle, those tweets are brill!

BelleHathor · 28/10/2019 12:51

Twitter means that we are all comedians now! 😂🤣😅 In these modern times of strife we need all the meme magic we can get and🍾🍷🍸🍹🍺

Parker231 · 28/10/2019 12:57

From Sky news Twitter. FTPA vote almost certain to fail. Understand No 10 is instead planning to introduce a Bill similar to LD/SNP one Tues in order to try push for pre-Xmas elec > But if one line Bill, it’s amendable. LDs said wouldn’t amend bill. But Lab surely will & does it then become unfeasible

DustyDiamond · 28/10/2019 13:09

I fully expect Labour to introduce amendments but they'd be daft to imo as the optics would be terrible for them as it will be yet another grubby attempt to seize power in an effort to frustrate things

It would help if Lib Dems & SNP were explicit in the debate that they would not be supporting any amendments at all, because 'their motivation is purely a mechanism to go to the people & amendments are merely seeking to frustrate matters'
(I now think Lib Dem & SNP are in campaign mode so are happy for Labour to be looking unreasonable & scared)

Walkingdeadfangirl · 28/10/2019 13:32

So the festive donkey (played by the LibDems as the head and the SNP as the Ass) is standing in the middle of the road, unable to move forward, due to a paralysing fear of democracy. Dying in a ditch on the left is the Corbyn Grinch and stuck in the quagmire on the right is the Hulk Boris.

The festive donkey makes a lasso out of 17.4 millions bits of paper and despite a moment of cannabis based indecision ... shouts "fuck it, its the only way we will ever see power again" and throws the lasso to their old friend on the right BoJo.

Hulk grabs the lasso, pulls himself out of the mud, helps the Corbyn Grinch to die in an allotment ditch, rescues the UK from the evil EU and skips off into the sunset living happily ever after with Sally.

At some point in the future the festive donkey picks its jaw back off the ground and says, "wtf just happened". Whilst a muffled noise emanates from its rear end, "why the f**k am I always the Ass?"

Merry xmas and a happy new UK

Bearbehind · 28/10/2019 13:36

I am just coming at it through a different lens I guess.

Sadly I think it’s more sinister than that

Leavers are being played, you’re being conditioned to think this is the EUs fault

This is deadline number 3 that’s going to pass without incident and you’re blaming the EU, not the people really responsible ie, our parliament

Boris will be loving it

DustyDiamond · 28/10/2019 13:57

To be honest Bear, the vast majority of leave based things I've seen on various social media is blaming Parliament

Remain based is blaming BJ

The temporary ceasefire re the EU from Brexiters was the vague hope that the EU would be so pissed off that they'd deny a Jan extension - even so, they were mega pissed that Parliament had created the situation whereby the EU could dictate the terms (the whole basis for the 'surrender act' hate from brexiters)

There are a very, very few Brexiters who blame the EU for what's happening at the mo.

DustyDiamond · 28/10/2019 13:59

Loving your modern version of the nativity Walking 😍

🎶 Ride, Sally - Riiide!! 🎶

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 14:03

“Leavers are being played, you’re being conditioned to think this is the EUs fault”

I’m hardly being played, I have wanted to leave the EU since the late 90’s. I’m not saying ‘this particular issue’ is the EU’s fault. What I am saying, is that it merely serves to illustrate in glorious technicolour how little control we actually have over our own destiny. The EU could have given a short technical extension, to allow the ‘so called’ scrutiny that Mp’s want. But they didn’t, did they? 🤔 , the reason, imo is they probably think there is still time for manoevres to be pulled, forcing through a peoples vote option or pressure to revoke. I could be wrong, My lens may need an optical adjustment, but that is how I see it in the context of the EU control as a whole.

You call it irony, I call it affirmation.

Tamayto tomarto. WinkGrin

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 14:06

I think our parliament are ALL self serving wankers, from the ERG to the SNP. What we don’t need, is an extra tier of self serving wankers calling the shots in the EU.

Parker231 · 28/10/2019 14:07

They gave the longer extension in the hope the UK gets its act together. A shorter extension would have increased the risk of a no deal exit which the EU definitely want to avoid.

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 14:08

But no. To clarify, as I think I may have rambled a bit... Blush I don’t specifically blame the EU for this round of bullshit. They are just another irritating layer in the onion.

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 14:09

“They gave the longer extension in the hope the UK gets its act together.”

They must know something the rest of us don’t then! GrinGrinGrin

BelleHathor · 28/10/2019 14:09

I agree Dusty, I am currently listening to LBC and the majority of callers are saying "He has tried his best" , "Blame lies squarely in parliaments lap","Don't blame Boris blame remainer MPs" etc etc. IMHO Cummings is a wizard as he has managed to change "losing" into winning while remainers have been name calling and celebrating pyrrhic victories. The message of people vs parliament has clearly reached the 'man on the Clapham omnibus'. Opposition will run on a platform of he broke his promise thinking it will resonate not realising that there's a groundswell of people who will shout back "yeah , because of you".

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 14:10

Hey, my fruit and veg analogies are strong today... Grin

I may wait before I bring carrots back into play. Grin 🥕
