I guess 🐻, leavers are still waiting in good faith that it will happen?

As myself and the other 3 leavers 😂 have said, we will don coveralls and march, howl 🐺 somewhere.... In protest.

I think the pressure riots bring eg macron in France, utter chaos on champs eylesse etc, so many towns brought to utter standstill... Would help here and bring pressure on those dithering around.

But thus far no one is rioting. Which is good and bad.

How do I justify where we are?

I'm seething with rage every time I see thornberry, chukka, or anyone who says 'things have changed'

I never ever envisaged our parliament was so utter dispicabel and rotten. People said to me after the vote... 'they'll never let us have it' I laughed and said of course it will happen!!

Now I feel like I'm living in Zimbabwe or Russia.
My soul feels scared. What are you the next moves. What will happen to my children? I've brought my dc to appreciate living in a free country!!

I've studied Eastern European political systems in some way depth, and I've had in the past a natural interest in China and I've read some powerful books on socialism and communism there. Most notably 'life and death in Shangai' STUNNING book...

A book written by chairman mao personal doctor... The more we'll known book wild swans etc.

I reject heavy government with body and soul. I believe in light touch and political freedom. I really deeply used to appreciate UK democracy. We are a leading light in the world. We have done many things wrong, but many things right. I trust us.

Now, all that trust is floundered... Flapping gasping for breath on the the shores of a rouge parliament... That's fucked off somewhere into the stratosphere....

I'm very worried for my family and my children....

TheSultanofPingu · 25/10/2019 19:28

Bercows is right though. There are many many versions of leave. It means different things to different people. Farage's version of leave is very different to Johnson's for example.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 25/10/2019 19:28

How do you equate the actual reality with what you voted for in 2016?

We have always known Parliament was stuffed with remainers who only care about their own jobs. I guess in the beginning we were mollified when they ALL said they would respect the referendum. But I suppose we weren't really surprised as over time it became clear they were all lying their heads off, to waste time, as part of their plot to rip up our votes.

We are now at the same time weary but also fucking outraged at their previous lies and current bald faced contempt of voters.

What else is their? Off with their heads?

Sunnyuplands · 25/10/2019 19:33

It doesn't matter what versions of leave there are... The important thing is to leave. These soundbites are bits of wood Remainers cling too in the brexit ocean. The reality is.... The ships going down and you have to let go soon....

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 25/10/2019 19:34

I wish someone neutral would do a questionnaire and send it to all the Leave households and to ask what exactly they voted for and why. It would be an interesting piece of research especially silly if done with in-depth analysis. Ok all leavers isn't realistic but a large population sample. The same could be done with remainers in the interest of fairness. A very interesting question would be whether the voter considered the impact on Northern Ireland and Ireland in their vote. Some with have one reason (that bloody nhs bus) and some will have five, or ten, or twenty. Some won't have a reason at all and just fancied a change. Maybe someone will conduct this research one day. A proper academic research paper.

DustyDiamond · 25/10/2019 19:34

How do Leavers justify this to themselves?

How do you equate the actual reality with what you voted for in 2016?

Can't speak for anyone else obvs, but I've been increasingly angry since the end of last year.

TMs backstop deal was not good enough & at this point I was pissed off with EU for not moving on backstop, and Brexit-blocking MPs for tying TM's hands re no deal

I was then very fucked off with the indicative vote debacle where MPs treated it as a game or voted on party lines instead engaging in good faith

My anger was then directed towards the ERG for blocking TMs deal & the manoeuvring to undermine & depose TM (because at this point it seemed it was TM's deal or no Brexit)

I was then irritated by anti-Brexit MPs treating it all as a game again with their showboating & antics

I was then very, very angry with Brexit-blocking MPs due to their active efforts to hold Parliament hostage, pass the surrender bill, undermine BJ's negotiations at every turn & refuse us a GE twice after continually moving the goalposts

I am now waiting & watching & willing BJ on

How is the reality compared with what I voted for in 2016?

It's shit.

I never, ever expected MPs to behave so despicably and to actively work to undermine & overturn the ref result.

I honestly believed that they would put all their energy into working out a solution - albeit a soft Brexit as a compromise due to such a high % of remain vote

I feel betrayed, and I feel held in contempt by Parliament

Jason118 · 25/10/2019 19:35

Well, there's always revoke. That makes it all go away.Smile

DustyDiamond · 25/10/2019 19:35

You're welcome DustyDiamond. It's the one ds dropped in the litter tray.

Charming 🙄

Epicwaffle · 25/10/2019 19:36

“You're welcome DustyDiamond. It's the one ds dropped in the litter tray.”

Wtaf???. And I shan’t hold my breath for the MN deletion. Disgusting but again, unsurprising.

@DustyDiamond, sorry to hear about the shit going on in your real life x Flowers

That’s the last time I ever engage with you here Bercows. That was a low as fuck post to dusty, even by your standards.

frumpety · 25/10/2019 19:36

Wanders on to say , you know revoke is still an option right ? I know some people would be unhappy with it , but hey its dark , its cold and its pissing it down and will continue to do so until an unseasonably warm week in February offers a glimmer of short lived respite. This is the best of times for unhappy, might as well be properly unhappy and get it all over and done with before spring Wink

Did I mention how close we are to Christmas ?

MeganBacon · 25/10/2019 19:39

Well, there's always revoke. That makes it all go away
Except it doesn't, it brings an even worse set of problems that no sensible person should be blind to.

frumpety · 25/10/2019 19:40

Such as ? Megan

Sunnyuplands · 25/10/2019 19:40

Bercow it holds no weight and is boring and doesn't matter. The point is to be free of the eu.

You could be boring and ask why people want to remain, of course the answer will be variety of things.... Who cares, they want to remain.

Many want ti remain because they 🤔 they could never, live or work in the the eu after brexit!!

Doesn't matter how misguided anyone is.... It's their bloody right living in a so callers democracy.

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 25/10/2019 19:42

If BJ isn't getting brexit done now then I wonder how a GE that keeps him in charge (which is what leavers want) will make any difference. I don't think it will solve anything. It's just more time wasting, money wasting and division building.

Surely if brexit was doable with ease (as promised) then it would be done by now 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe, just maybe those seen as trying to stop brexit are actually trying to stop the government destroying the country.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 25/10/2019 19:42

You're welcome DustyDiamond. It's the one ds dropped in the litter tray

What the fuck is wrong with you?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 25/10/2019 19:43

I wish someone neutral would do a questionnaire and send it to all the Leave households and to ask what exactly they voted for and why
I think that it is to late for that now. What people thought they voted for will have been contaminated with 3 years of shit being pumped into our heads, post vote.

Might be more interesting to find out what remainers think they voted for and see if that matches with reality?

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 25/10/2019 19:45

Seeing as we are still in the EU then remain meant and means the benefits of being in the EU staying the same.

As to what is wrong with me? Stalking and bullying is poor form so the biscuit was well deserved.

TheSultanofPingu · 25/10/2019 19:46

Yeah that was uncalled for Bercows.

Sunnyuplands · 25/10/2019 19:46

Bercow!!

You think brexit isn't done because of Boris Grin

Jason118 · 25/10/2019 19:47

Of course it's not just Boris, it's his ERG pals that stopped it, obviously Grin

GreenishMe · 25/10/2019 19:49

“You're welcome DustyDiamond. It's the one ds dropped in the litter tray.”

Shite thing to say wasn't it? I got the impression she was trying to backtrack once Bear joined the thread. Didn't want to be viewed as a collaborator probably.

Smile Wine

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 25/10/2019 19:49

No, I don't think brexit isn't done because of Boris. But he's not achieved it has he?

Yes, staking and screen shotting, glitterballing, ignoring and bullying is always called for. I wanted discussion but that's not to be had here.

Epicwaffle · 25/10/2019 19:51
