“I was looking for an article that I read some time back regarding fruit picking and technology but can't find it now, but did just come across this from UK Research & Innovation.”

Tbh, I have seen amazing technology deployed around farming techniques, it actually surprises me that we are not already much further advanced in this regard. Perhaps all of this will be the push needed! Fascinating article!

Sunnyuplands · 24/10/2019 22:54

If they don't give him an election I'm going to spend half term in a decorating coverall boiler suit, shouting through a tannoy, 'get the duck out of my parliament you mother pluckers.'

Sunnyuplands · 24/10/2019 22:55

(I'll be at Westminster, of course, not just randomly shouting at houses down my road 😂😂🏘️)

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 22:56

@sunny Grin

Sunnyuplands · 24/10/2019 23:00

I think a huge crowd screaming get out get out, over and over all-day would be a great protest.

Get out of my, our parliament.

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 23:01

I’m getting totally lost in the world of advanced fruit and veg picking technology. It’s quite fascinating just how far advanced the robotics are becoming. From what I am reading, I think a lot of our prior thread conversations regarding the lack of manual labour around picking, will be almost totally moot in as little as the next few years.

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 23:02

This, and everyone with a megaphone, Steve Bray style. That ought to do it! Grin

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 23:03

Quote fail again, sorry... HmmGrin

DustyDiamond · 24/10/2019 23:03

I may just stand in my own street & do it Sunny!

Imagine if there was a mass coordinated 'stand out in your street & shout' campaign - millions of people howling at the skies to GET BREXIT DONE!! 😂

time4chocolate · 24/10/2019 23:04

Sunny😂😂 that would be very funny to witness though.

“I’d do it but I’d be arrested in minutes (I live in a very conservative area)”

Me too, I’d be thrown in the stocks and lambasted all over ‘nextdoor’ and various local facebook pages within milliseconds.

To be fair though, it’s as dull as dishwater here, it could liven things up a little... 🤔

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 24/10/2019 23:10

magine if there was a mass coordinated 'stand out in your street & shout' campaign - millions of people howling at the skies to GET BREXIT DONE

Im all for people voting for however they want

Disturb my sleep and youve got a fucking problem chum

Daytime? Crack on mate

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 23:15

Haha Grin @rufus so, We can be ‘awfully noisy’ but only between certain hours? Excellent, I think we might be hammering out the finer details of a genuine ‘resistance’ policy here!

Sally, stay put, we are coming to help! 🕯 📢

But only during sociable hours. Grin

DustyDiamond · 24/10/2019 23:16

My street's pretty quiet to be fair so there'd be a few twitchy curtains 😂

Just seen this on twitter - clarifies the Labour position for those in doubt:

Will everyone just stop criticising the Labour position it's perfectly clear, they want a General Election but they are going to block one so that they can't negotiate the Brexit deal they want to negotiate which they will then campaign against.

Excellent, we can all go home now then! Crystal! Wink

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 23:28

Do we know of any good websites for assistance with tactical voting for the leave side? I often hear of it being pushed by remain, but I’m sure there must be an opposing resource?

Sunnyuplands · 24/10/2019 23:48

😂😂😂🕯️🕯️🙏🥕🏘️ 🐺 🔗

Call me ignorant, call me callous. But I cannot get lost in the world of fruit picking machinery 😂.

Sunnyuplands · 24/10/2019 23:50

Epic I did hear of one BP candidate standing down, to give tory clear run at vote.

DustyDiamond · 24/10/2019 23:56

Remain have got the lovely Gina Miller & her bankrollers providing a tactical voting thing

Leavers have not got anything I would actually trust 🙄
I did see one earlier & it was basically Brexit Party being suggested for loads, many of which are currently Tory seats

I think the areas that are avidly anti Tory will likely go Brexit Party but everywhere else the Leave vote will likely be split

I'm terrified that there'll be a Lib-Lab-SNP coalition by accident 😩

time4chocolate · 25/10/2019 00:21

I'm terrified that there'll be a Lib-Lab-SNP coalition by accident 😩

That's the stuff of nightmares even putting Brexit to one side.

I still think a Tory/BXP arrangement isn't completely dead in the water yet (either before or after a GE).

Still waiting for the huge march to Get Brexit Done.
I know we are all fed up of this carry on but the pro Brexit March numbers are conspicuous by their absence.

twofingerstoEverything · 25/10/2019 07:28

Dusty Remain have got the lovely Gina Miller & her bankrollers providing a tactical voting thing

Leavers seem very reluctant to accept that Gina Miller's court actions and other campaigns like 'Led by Donkeys' are crowd-funded by ordinary people like me bunging in a tenner on payday. I expect the reason why you're resistant this idea is because it shows what huge support they have and spoils the argument that people want to get Brexit 'done', which is spouted ad nauseum these days.

Don't have conniptions, but wealthy individuals like Delia Smith and Patrick Stewart have paid for buses to take people to anti-Brexit marches, too. If you want to start your own Brexit protests along similar lines, you could ask people like Dyson, Michael Caine and John Cleese to cough up for a bus to take you to Parliament Square where you could shout yourselves hoarse. It's still a free country (for now). Anyone's allowed to do it.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 25/10/2019 07:29

But only during sociable hours

I can absolutely be on board with that Grin

Sunnyuplands · 25/10/2019 07:39

Two, as lots of wealthy people support remain, many wealthy of course support leave. I have wondered why there has been little support the other way and I think it's because we won the vote and expect it go through.

In nightmare of lib dem winning perhaps then we would have more organised stuff???
If ge election is denied I think it's time for my first ever march....
