Is it over yet?

The Tory Party Conference is in full swing in the Manchester Rain, and is proving to be its usual fun.

Johnson is caught up in all sorts of allegations of abuses of power - the non-declaration of his "friendship" to a busty blonde whom was getting a large tax payer grant, and then there the Odey question after his sister said he was under the control of the Hedge Funders.

And thats before we talk about the 40 hospitals, his provocative language and how many times he can say the word surrender.

There is lots of distancing from Lyton Crosby. And accusations that Johnson has gone 'rogue' only listening to the wisdom of Cummings and Symonds.

The Queen apparently has asked for advice as to under what circumstance she can dismiss a PM.

AND NO ONE IS EVEN TALKING ABOUT A DEAL.

Early pmk.

ClashCityRocker · 30/09/2019 17:49

Just out of pure curiosity how much time has Johnson spent in the EU since becoming pm?

He seems to be arguing with everyone but the EU. How anyone can think he's even trying to get a deal is beyond me.

Is it over yet?

Not even

Are we nearly there yet?

prettybird · 30/09/2019 17:49

PMK, it's October TOMORROW! 😳

AutumnCrow · 30/09/2019 17:52

I had a dream on Saturday night that I was on a bus that Johnson was about to board and we didn't let him on and drove off over the Tyne Bridge to freedom

yolofish · 30/09/2019 17:53

ho hum, there'll be more to come (scandal and nefarious wrongdoings that is)

DGRossetti · 30/09/2019 17:54

PMK, it's October TOMORROW!

Well at least Plan Boris - to sneak an election before 31st - has been scuppered. Any election is going to have to happen with the effects of no deal biting, or the UK having a respite to get it's shit together.

Tiny victories.

Just popped in to say thank you for these threads. I’ve been lurking for months and they’re keeping me sane and very well informed amongst the chaos. You are my first source of information for all things Brexit. Here’s a remainer cat for you all (she couldn’t care less)!

Good point DGRossetti. That fact had escaped me with all the goings on.

Dontlickthetrolley · 30/09/2019 18:14

PMK Thanks Red

pointythings · 30/09/2019 18:14

I haven't been following the conference, I have enough stress at work that I don't need it. But as always these threads are keeping me vaguely sane.

The two Leavers in my office have gone very, very quiet.

squid4 · 30/09/2019 18:16

I can't see how sexual harrassment allegations or giving money to "busty blondes" is going to do anything to johnson. Everyone knows that already. And he was still selected.

The hedge fund stuff needs shouting from the RAFTERS.

I went away for the weekend and apparently managed to miss an entire thread.

Everytimeref · 30/09/2019 18:22

Trying to get the message out the masses that Brexit has always been about fat cats lining their pockets, is extremely difficult because the masses have been told repeatedly by the papers (owned by said fat cats) not to trust the "experts" and listen to the sound bites.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
“Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats can’t put down the Impeachment match. They know they couldn’t beat him in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, and they’re increasingly aware of the fact that they won’t win against him in 2020, and Impeachment is the only tool they have to get...

....rid of Donald J. Trump - And the Democrats don’t care if they burn down and destroy this nation in the process. I have never seen the Evangelical Christians more angry over any issue than this attempt to illegitimately remove this President from office, overturn the 2016....

....Election, and negate the votes of millions of Evangelicals in the process. They know the only Impeachable offense that President Trump has committed was beating Hillary Clinton in 2016. That’s the unpardonable sin for which the Democrats will never forgive him.....

....If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.” Pastor Robert Jeffress, @FoxNews

Just y'know, saying:

Certain people close to Trump want civil war or unrest.

The whole Fox Deep State thing plays to that. If the CIA or FBI or any other agency move against Trump they think conspiracy. Therefore civil unrest.

Then stuff like could martial law be declared. If it is, would people follow orders? What would happen.

Bannon on record as staying he wants complete chaos. And if course if Russia really are involved, so do they - it's text book strategy and similar to Ukraine. Infiltrate, stir up domestic feeling, let it explode.

IC also aware of this. This is why what Republican party do important. They want to break them to minimise risk of that type of thing.

Trump will not resign. Now will he allow himself to be arrested. Remember he has private bodyguard loyal to him and not the state. If state come for him you have a volatile situation right there.

Don't underestimate how dangerous the current situation is. It's been deliberately constructed in this way to protect Trump from cheques and balances as he considers himself above them and the law.

If we do dodge the spectacle of a shoot out at the WH whilst they physically remove Trump, him stirring up civil unrest, imposing martial law or dropping a nuke and these charges do take out Trump and his cronies, then what?
