Westministenders: Boris Johnson Broke The Law

ITS OFFICIAL
The Highest Court in the Land has ruled that Boris Johnson has broken the law.

Parliament is Sovereign.

Despite the calls for his resignation it is highly unlikely he will under the current political climate.

It must be stressed that the judgement was UNAMINOUS and went further than most expected, and took the hardest possible line again the government

The power now lies with the Speakers of the Lords and Commons to decide when Parliament reopens.

It also means that all the bills which were ended by proroguation are now back in play.

Expect a full backlash from the hard right attacking the courts are going full on 'enemies of the people'. This will be NASTY

The strength of this ruling does pretty much rule out another proroguation as the courts are liable to throw it out immediately if they try it on again.

Johnson is in New York. He needs to get on a plane very quickly.

if i was BJ i'd stay there. get the citizenship back and never show his face again. we all know he doesn't really care for the puppy, or carrie (at least, not exclusively)

MockersthefeMANist · 24/09/2019 11:41

Elected judges?

You are a Russian bot and I claim my fifty Roubles.

Peregrina · 24/09/2019 11:41

Perhaps Carrie will ditch him - for a more reliable model?

BigChocFrenzy · 24/09/2019 11:42

Wow, those "Enemies of the People" headlines were obviously prepped well in advance

Brexiters copying propoganda from Hitler and Stalin to demonise anyone who stands in their way
Trump does that too

  • not a good look for Britain or the US
DGRossetti · 24/09/2019 11:42

There’s something you’re really not understanding here.

All that's happening is a few morons are undoing the patient careful work a lot of Leavers put in on these threads these past few months convincing us they aren't thick.

ifonly4 · 24/09/2019 11:42

Thegrasscouldbegreener I agree the next stage is not going to be civilised. Three lots of protests here last week and one lot was from leavers - I'm in firm leave area (and surrounding areas) and fear they'll be far more if they don't get what they voted for and some are going to be pretty angry.

kjhkj · 24/09/2019 11:43

They didn't even have the courage to be present for the verdict, choosing to write their verdict down instead....this is outrageous.

WTF? Did you just miss them all on tv?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 24/09/2019 11:43

Random aside

The BBC’s Clive Coleman was one of my lecturers at Bar School

Camomila · 24/09/2019 11:43

Lady' Hale looks dressed for the occasion with her spider's brooch all in black over seeing the remain coven, truly chilling day for the democracy of this country, and for the future.

Not to mention being offensive to Wiccans.

This thread has actually made it into trending. These threads never make trending!

Thegrasscouldbegreener what do you mean - can you give me an idea?

ClashCityRocker · 24/09/2019 11:44

PMK.

(Which originally started as a typo for placemarking came out Placemat King on one of the early threads, for those who are interested in the origins!)

There is good reason to say Jacob Rees-Mogg, Lord President of the Privy Council, should now resign for having happened on his watch

derxa · 24/09/2019 11:45

this is only going to make those who want no deal, even more determined. Yes that will be the result.

so angry they organise a peaceful million man march on parliament like remainers ? Or so angry they commit criminal acts of violence are are dealt with by the criminal justice system ?

Ignore the troll.

FractalChaos · 24/09/2019 11:45

PMQs should be good tomorrow if he makes it back in time

ImNotYourGranny · 24/09/2019 11:46

Why are leavers so outraged and calling the judges enemies of the people for frustrating the will of 17.4 million? I thought they claim that prorogation was nothing to do with brexit and only about the queen's speech. Are they now conceding that it was about brexit and that the court is therefore right that Boris lied to the queen?

So leavers was it about brexit or was it not about brexit? You can't have it both ways.

DGRossetti · 24/09/2019 11:46

There is good reason to say Jacob Rees-Mogg, Lord President of the Privy Council, should now resign for having happened on his watch

I take it that's a typo and should read "not" ?

It was JRM that had to fly to Balmoral to ask Her Majesty to prorogue. I wonder if he'll plead just being a messenger boy all of a sudden ?

BigChocFrenzy · 24/09/2019 11:47

"The next stage of this is not going to be as civilised,"

So, will it be more riots, more violence by Brexiter thugs against the police?

Or more targeted far right terrorism against individual opponents, like the murder of Jo Cox ?

Or BJ interning MPs and judges until after Brexit ?

DGRossetti · 24/09/2019 11:47

this is only going to make those who want no deal, even more determined.

What ? To break the law (again) ?

WhatdoImean · 24/09/2019 11:48

Love the comment from Guy Verhofstadt, EU's lead on Brexit:-

"I never want to hear Boris Johnson or any other Brexiteer say again that the European Union is undemocratic."

DGRossetti · 24/09/2019 11:49

It's not all leavers, just the noisiest.
