If you look at European history, it's a constant story of mobility, travel, immigration, learning form each other

So WWI and WWII never happened?

MysteryTripAgain · 20/09/2019 04:57

my point is you are a-historic racist twats and I despise you

Maybe those who you despise think the same about you?

MysteryTripAgain · 20/09/2019 05:00

These are all hard facts of no deal Brexit and the situation we’re in as country. What’s planet are you on?

Can I borrow the crystal ball that enables you to forecast the future with certainty?

AuldAlliance · 20/09/2019 06:25

France doesn't hate the UK.

Where have you been for the last thousand years?

I've only been alive for a few decades.
I have, however, some grasp of history and geopolitics.

The UK has only existed for 312 years.
The bold in my post was there for a purpose.
France does not have issues with the whole of the UK, far from it. My name is a hint that this is not new.

Recent events have increased sympathy for rUK amongst EU member states and the English attitude towards RoI and Brexit in general has had fairly devastating consequences for England's (not the UK's) image abroad.

bellinisurge · 20/09/2019 06:41

What time zone are you in Mystery? Unless you got up early in the UK with a parenting issue and have decided that your time is best spent trotting out your usual.

ContinuityError · 20/09/2019 07:07

The UK has only existed for 312 years.

Not even that long - the Acts of Union in 1800 merged the Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland, but the UK in its current form is less than 100 years old.

Septembersunrays · 20/09/2019 07:38

I don't want fom at all, I don't think it's worked for the UK.
You can keep repeating Parker on the stuck recored but I don't think you will convince anyone on this thread.

Bellingsurge I agree with you on light prepping... I think just the mind set that we shouldn't ever expect to be totally reliant is good.
Adding extra pasta or loo roll to orders now is nothing major or panic buying or stock piling. But to be a proper pepper, I imagine there must be more than to the mind set.... So it doesn't surprise me that your all doom and gloom.

But screaming about doom and gloom isn't going to turn others into doom mongers.

Parker231 · 20/09/2019 07:41

September - I rest my case . You don’t understand how the UK economy works and unfortunately like the rest of the population you will suffer the consequences of Brexit.

Septembersunrays · 20/09/2019 07:45

The UK has already suffered from the consequences of fom and being part of the eu.
Shall we agree to disagree and perhaps you can spend your time on other threads doing whatever your doing?

Jason118 · 20/09/2019 07:49

@Septembersunrays you seem to be getting 'suffered ' mixed up with 'benefitted'.

jasjas1973 · 20/09/2019 07:54

September - i note despite saying we will be able to work, travel, live within the EU as before, you can't actually support this fallacy.

bellinisurge · 20/09/2019 07:55

@Septembersunrays I'm not trying to "turn people into preppers ". I've been trying to offer people my knowledge and experience to make their own choices and do what is right for them within their budget. You've just been trotting out various versions of "it'll be fiiiiine".
I think Johnson is going to shaft you with a rebranded version of WA and you are going to lap it up and pretend it's what you wanted all along. I almost can't wait to listen to you lot squirm.

Septembersunrays · 20/09/2019 07:56

Jas what makes you think we won't?
Will we literally be geographically moved elsewhere?

Septembersunrays · 20/09/2019 07:59

I've loosely followed your pepper thread and there are some good tips. But the point is that you have said you are a full on pepper, with or without brexit and to be a full on pepper requires a certain mindset which is unlikely to be positive

bellinisurge · 20/09/2019 08:19

I don't think you know much about prepping. It's the opposite. Have some resilience in your home that you can be fairly confident about and then get on with your life. Rather than be shackled by fear.
But you don't have much of a track record of understanding points of view that aren't your own so , meh.

Cittadina · 20/09/2019 08:20

MysteryTripAgain & all other hardcore leavers:

Exactly my point. I know that you leavers despise me. You despise me because I am "other," because I have an accent, because my hair is deep black and my skin is dark, you despise me because, in spite of having no networks and no connections, just out my sheet talent I have a 'nice' career in the arts, and a large house in the nice part of town.

You despise me because, in spite of the not being my native language, I earn my keep writing, and gatekeeping other people's language.

You despise me because I get to write history and you drink tepid lager in your pretend pub. Some of you even despise me for having married a British man. Why did he have to marry 'foreign'?

Your hate and your envy started this process.

Mine is the righteous anger of the discriminated and oppressed. I did not even get to vote in the EU referendum. I am angry and disenfranchised.

And, just like we watch films about the 1930s and we shake our heads, "how people could do this to other people - we wonder, we will do the same in fifty year's time. How could you do this to three million EU people in this country, and 1.5 million Brits in the EU, their freedom eroded and their rights questioned. Their lives caught in a spiral of anxiety, their lives changed forever. You did this.

And maybe you did not mean it, but actions have consequences and you have taken out of the box this monster of racism and fear - which stems from your inability to look at the real causes of trouble in this country and Europe - why do you think people like Mogg and Farage and Tommy Robinson are your your side? They truly do not care about 'the people' and the working class, their desire to leave the EU is just a means to an end to make the UK an unregulated desert, a place without taxes and without state, where only the fittest and the aristocratic survive , where universities are eroded because they normally create egalitarian thought, a kind of new middle age, with people bamboozled by technology and no critical thought. This is what you are buying into. A delusion of Empire2.0 in which you will be no other than cannon fodder. But keep drinking tepid lager in your pretend pub.

And I thank my good star that I have some form of power and influence in my writing, that now every conference I organise, every article I write, every editorial, every book I publish, hammers the historical message home, the historical truth, evicence-based history of collaboration and growth and rips the veil out of the Brexit dream and exposes to all to see for the ruthless, cruel, inhumane monster that it is.

You have been drinking poison and you are using it to kill us.

I will never forget and will never forgive.

twofingerstoEverything · 20/09/2019 08:20
Grin Starbucks: What's the source of that table? Mummy: It's from Twitter Grin Big fat lols at Twitter being a 'source'.

πŸ§πŸ€”πŸ™„

I don't 'despise' you.

I don't know you.

It was you who said "you are a-historic racist twats and I despise you" btw

I can't find any examples of posters on this thread saying similar to you btw (name calling & speaking of 'despising' anyone).

Your hyperbolic rant based on a fantasy of what posters on here apparently think is a nonsense.
That is what I think.

DustyDiamond · 20/09/2019 08:38

I will never forget and will never forgive.

Again, literally don't give a toss about your forgiveness or blame-game theatrics.

twofingerstoEverything · 20/09/2019 08:40

time4 Maybe he had just had a liquid lunch
People used to say that about Mo Mowlam, too.

bellinisurge · 20/09/2019 08:49

We've had some Leaver ranting on here recently. Perhaps you should focus on your own supporters rather than picking holes in the arguments of someone who feels strongly that the tone of uk attitudes towards people who aren't white British has changed.

mummmy2017 · 20/09/2019 08:50

Cittadina I find your words odd, you seem to have a massive chip on your shoulder and would incite anger against yourself where none exists.
Very few people in this country and I do mean few, would ever have any of these thoughts cross their mind, I do not let ok at my neighbours and feel hate towards them, nor do my children. I can not believe a single person on MN feels this way, and any that do deserve throwing off the site.

bellinisurge · 20/09/2019 08:52

@twofingerstoEverything , so making unfounded remarks about a dead woman who lead the successful UK negotiations in the peace process is ok, is it? As bad as Corbyn pretending he had a key role in it. Shameful.

jasjas1973 · 20/09/2019 08:55

Sept

Think you know the answer to that as well as i do, unless you re saying FOM is ineffective?

DustyDiamond · 20/09/2019 09:06

She projected her 'this is what a leaver thinks' flawed stereotype onto a load of posters on a MN thread.
She then directed her anger based on flawed assumptions to the leave posters on this thread.

Literally no one on this thread has said any of the things she attributed to us, including the repeated 'you all despise me' melodrama.

What are Leave voters?
Simply people who selected the leave option on a piece of paper.
We are no more a homogenous mass than are Remain voters.

But for voting to leave, she apparently 'despises' us.
To despise' someone simply for participating in democracy is ridiculous at best.
