I just watched the Juncker interview... I can't make much sense of it

Is that the same interview where he said "I don't have an erotic relationship to the backstop"!!

Maybe he had just had a liquid lunchπŸ˜‰

Cittadina · 19/09/2019 21:18

@time4chocolate

But when you are in from of the abyss of hate that you have created, what will save you?

Septembersunrays · 19/09/2019 21:33

Cittidana,

I was reading your post believing the crescendo would be..
'so Remainers... As history shows us we have managed to move between UK and eu for centuries before 1975 and managed to trade with them without the eu...'

Rather a damp squib. I've not met or know a single remainer who doesn't love Europe.
My family have moved all round world, according to jobs, visas and need and lived worked everywhere. One has gone through torturous process of getting oz citizenship.
She was illegal then married ozzy then had to return to UK then back again etc

My own dc are only half British.

It ain't half patronising when someone rushes in to tell us about eu history.

Alliances in Europe.... Fail.

time4chocolate · 19/09/2019 21:34

But if this all goes tits up, and your country, our country, becomes massively worse off as a result of Brexit, will you need it then?

What is your definition of massively worse off?

I certainly won't be seeking forgiveness from the sort of poster that flings tripe and says they are past caring, because that can cut both ways.

Septembersunrays · 19/09/2019 21:40

I'm so lucky to have such a large international family (that lived, travelled and worked all over the world including Europe) that I know, your speaking utter bull shit.. No wonder kids are petrified when adults are telling them they will never ever be able to move or live or travel to another eu country.

It's disgraceful really. But also shows what a great pr job the eu did.

Lonelycrab · 19/09/2019 21:43

What is your definition of massively worse off?

Well quite simply it’s poorer than we were say, I dunno, ten years back when if you’d have walked up to the average person on the street they’d have said the Eu wasn’t really here nor there.

Now they’re the enemy. Blatantly not true but it’s worse than what was there before. Which has been largely fuelled by gutter media but that seems to have escaped you. I could go on but I can’t be arsed

Septembersunrays · 19/09/2019 21:47

Oh lonely I can't agree with you there it was about 10 years ago when it all kicked off!
Things are looking good for the UK.

People just want it to fail so much they can't see the good in anything.

Lonelycrab · 19/09/2019 21:53

Things are looking good for the UK.

Jobs lost
More poverty
Prices up
Choices down
Racism and intolerance rising

These are all hard facts of no deal Brexit and the situation we’re in as country. What’s planet are you on?

jasjas1973 · 19/09/2019 21:55

No wonder kids are petrified when adults are telling them they will never ever be able to move or live or travel to another eu country

It's disgraceful really. But also shows what a great pr job the eu did

Its not a PR job, its factually correct, we won't be Eurasmus and wont have the benefits of FOM... working and living in the EU will be considerably harder and more expensive, being able to retire there will be very difficult.
I have never heard anyone say we will not be able to travel or holiday in the EU

Septembersunrays · 19/09/2019 21:57

It won't be at all and it never was jas.

DustyDiamond · 19/09/2019 21:59

my point is you are a-historic racist twats and I despise you.

So let's recap - you Brexiters guys are for mobility and exchange ad free movement? Because, boy, you are hiding this well.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
What a peach you are!!

jasjas1973 · 19/09/2019 22:00

Evidence for that?

DustyDiamond · 19/09/2019 22:09

I tell it how it is.

Translated:
"I'm massive brave online me"

I will never forgive you.

Literally no one gives a fuck about this.

So no not a blithe β€œon our own terms” with the working assumption that other people will bow down before you.

Really the level of entitlement & quite frankly delusion in that comment is extraordinary.

"On our own terms" actually meant "without having to be in lockstep with 27 other nation states"
Perfect example is the rejection of EU & South America trade deal because one country blocked it.
Fuck all to do with delusions of entitlement or expecting other countries to 'bow down'

It never fails to amaze me just how much some anti leave-voter posters go to such desperate lengths to twist everything to create sneering opportunities πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Septembersunrays · 19/09/2019 22:31

So reading on another thread UK is worth 18 other eu countries.

So when we leave its like eu will shrink to 9 countries who contribute!!

9 Shock

Jason118 · 19/09/2019 22:34

@Septembersunrays and how does this shrinking make the UK better off? What point are you trying to make? Just interested.

Parker231 · 19/09/2019 22:38

September - your comments are getting more ridiculous and insulting to those people who are going to be badly affected by leaving the EU. Think about all those people who will, not may, loose their jobs. The UK will in our live time not recover from this. Your lack of understanding on trade deals, the supply chain and basic economics is appalling. You don’t seem to grasp that the UK needs free movement of people and trade.

yolofish · 19/09/2019 22:49

According to the headline on tomorrow's Metro, racists are now patrolling our beaches to 'catch' immigrants before the rescue services to get to them. God knows what they propose to do with them... but I'm sure it won't be pretty if they get their way. Some people are scummy.

Parker231 · 19/09/2019 22:52

If someone is desperate enough to risk their life to get across the Channel into the UK they need help and support not being threatened by thugs who should be arrested.

yolofish · 19/09/2019 22:58

Absolutely Parker. I live very close to the area of the Kent coast where people are risking their lives on a daily basis, I walk on the beach every day - and I know just how bloody dangerous that sea is. Desperation is just not a big enough word.

DustyDiamond · 19/09/2019 23:05

They are 'fleeing' from France.

France.

A safe country.

Parker231 · 19/09/2019 23:08

It’s irrelevant where they came from. They need help and support to rebuild their lives. It’s called humanity.

DustyDiamond · 19/09/2019 23:43

It's not humanity to encourage & fuel the people smugglers.

Humanity would be France dealing with them properly so that they are not risking their lives crossing the channel.

Why are France not providing them with help & support?

Or any of the other safe countries they passed through en route to France?

MysteryTripAgain · 20/09/2019 04:47

France doesn't hate the UK.

Where have you been for the last thousand years?

MysteryTripAgain · 20/09/2019 04:51

A no-deal Brexit will slice almost 3% from Britain’s economic growth over the next three years compared with just 0.6% from the rest of the EU, according to the OECD’s latest health check of the global economy

According to the UK treasury a vote to leave, before anything actually happened, was supposed to result in 800,000 job loses and a reduction in GDP of 6%. Did not happen. Reality was the opposite.

MysteryTripAgain · 20/09/2019 04:52

Hence me pointing out the fact, that NI majority voted β€žRemainβ€œ. I didn’t talk about the UK - you did!

NI is part of the UK
