Grin Grin Grin

mummmy2017 · 31/08/2019 16:12

Claim... Mobile changed words.
But you knew that.
So by mocking me your saying I am right...
Thanks.

Mamamia456 · 31/08/2019 16:12

Predictive text has a lot to answer for.

jasjas1973 · 31/08/2019 16:18

If you thought logically, you would see that leaving the EU with no deal and not paying monies agreed, is going to damage the UK, that means job losses and less money to spend on our priorities or we borrow more & tax more.

I'm not so much against Brexit but it must be managed and that means long term planning and negotiation, something that is not happening.
But of course those doing this are extremely wealthy, so don't care.

jasjas1973 · 31/08/2019 16:21

Predictive text has a lot to answer for

How about re reading what you write before hitting return? it's not difficult.

When you call others stupid, you need to be sure of your base lol!

mummmy2017 · 31/08/2019 16:26

I am simply making a comment about the state of the talks right now.
Two sides who refuse to move positions can not have an agreement.

Mamamia456 · 31/08/2019 16:29

Don't forget some people on mumsnet could be dyslexic.

bellinisurge · 31/08/2019 16:30

No, @mummmy2017 , the two sides are not refusing to talk. The UK is either unable or unwilling to come up with alternative arrangements to tbe backstop to avoid a hard border ointment NI. And don't waste my time saying neither side will put up a border because they will have to in the event of No Deal. WTO requires that you have control over your economic area. Doesn't have to be border posts but it has to be something. There is no something.
If UK came up with something e.g. NI is a special economic zone and there is a border in the sea, EU would accept that.

bellinisurge · 31/08/2019 16:33

Ointment NI !! In NI.

mummmy2017 · 31/08/2019 16:37

But neither will change what they want.
So there is no agreement.

Gottastopspendingmoney · 31/08/2019 16:41

Your or you're?

I can see that he would maybe get support from opposition MPs instead of No Deal. I just can't see that it would benefit him long term in the Tory Party.

They have whipped up the mass populus (or at least those who shout the loudest) to believe No Deal is the only option.

Any sort of Deal is playing into Farage's hands.

I believe that BJ wants a deal but I also think he has backed himself into a corner (just like he did in 2016).

I really can't see any other outcome than No Deal.

It's almost as if he wants the opposition to legislate -give them just enough time and then it's been taken out of his hands.

bellinisurge · 31/08/2019 16:56

"neither will change what they want."
One wants to help a fellow member abide by an international agreement (GFA) and the other doesn't. But hopes that everyone else will ignore its inability to keep its word and make "great trade deals" with it.

Autumnintheair · 31/08/2019 17:40

'hard border ointment'

It's OK bell... The leavers on this thread of course know that was a spell checker error, rather than you unable to string a sentence together and spell, basic words. Smile

Parker231 · 31/08/2019 17:45

The Telegraph is reporting that the EU are ready to extend Article 50 to try and avoid a no deal.

RuggerHug · 31/08/2019 17:45

mummmy2017 you still haven't answered my question. Why are your wants more important than peoples lives and safety in NI? Why can't that be something that inspires the UK to do something to make sure they stick to the peace treaty?

Autumnintheair · 31/08/2019 17:53

I don't know how keeping us in beyond Oct 31st would go down.
Good tactic to string things out, eu hopes for election, corbyn gets in, brexit folds.

I don't think it will wash.

mummmy2017 · 31/08/2019 17:53

RuggerHug these are not my wants.
I am not flying this plane, just along for the ride.
What is on offer does not work for everyone, the simply fact is there is no middle ground, and I don't want there too a disagreement in Ireland, but why can't they find a way forward, in 1000 years the agreement might have been modified many times, so why not now.

Socksontheradiator · 31/08/2019 17:55

Offering us extra time to sort things out. Not 'keeping' us in!

Socksontheradiator · 31/08/2019 17:56

It's calling people stupid whilst being unable to manage predictive text and spell checker that's irritating people, I imagine.

Autumnintheair · 31/08/2019 17:57

Rugger why does anyone's safety anywhere trump what other people want?

Free movement has triggered a phenomenon in trafficking girls and women across the the eu from mainly poor Eastern eu countries.

It's also been a gun running free for all...

Why does eu project trump those peoples lives?

How can you align yourselves with organisation that has shown time and time again, contempt and useless organisation to combat issues directly occurring as a result of their polices /in action.

Autumnintheair · 31/08/2019 18:00

I'm afraid that won't wash socks.
Leavers have been patiently waiting for 3 years, and we are no nearer to leaving.

I think many leavers did this in good faith but trust with parliament has gone now. There is no.... Sorting ourselves out in Parliament. Only how can we stop brexit and Drag It Out.

merrymouse · 31/08/2019 18:05

No agreement no deal

For the country to function on 1st November some kind of agreement with the EU is necessary. It might not be called a withdrawal agreement, and it might not be popular but if the U.K. leave on 31st October the U.K. government will be in Brussels on 1st November. They don’t have an alternative.

merrymouse · 31/08/2019 18:09

Leavers have been patiently waiting for 3 years, and we are no nearer to leaving.

Which is a bit strange really. It’s not up to people who voted remain to work out how to leave.

Bearbehind · 31/08/2019 18:13

mummmy I’m pretty sure you’re going to be disappointed.

Boris has never said he wants no deal, he’s just threatened it.

He’s always said he’d prefer a deal.

I know you’re just hearing what you want to hear, but he hasn’t even said he’s going for no deal.

You’re being played - it’ll be a fudged WA at the final hour in order to avoid no deal.

merrymouse · 31/08/2019 18:14

I don't want there too a disagreement in Ireland, but why can't they find a way forward

Because Theresa May called an election which left the Conservative Party dependent on the DUP and the ERG.
