Hell is ever closer-how's your stash looking?

My brexit cupboard shelves have been depleted due to using up the things that were going out of date like long life milk and juice. We also seem to have raided the baked beans Blush
After today's announcement of buffoon johnson (isn't Johnson an American term for penis?) being our new PM and his threat of brexit on Halloween come hell or high water I figured I should assess my supplies. I still have my original lists somewhere so need to check everything.
Anyone else extra worried now and assessing their supplies?

@CrunchyCarrot , it is actually one of the events in my life that has made me a prepper. I was pretty poorly after dd was born and utterly at the mercy of things I had no control over.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 02/08/2019 19:15

I’m going to say don’t bother with Lidl’s chocolate angel delight. Very meh!

CrunchyCarrot · 02/08/2019 19:37

I can imagine that had a huge impact on you, bellini Flowers

Dontlickthetrolley · 02/08/2019 21:25

We've had a Food Warehouse open in our town (part of Iceland) the deals are pretty good 220 finish dishwasher tablets for £15, velvet loo rolls, 16 for £4.69, box of Persil 100 washes £10. Definitely worth a look if you have one near by.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/08/2019 22:34

Where's that, DontLick? I'm assuming on one of the estates somewhere (Tesco / Asda-way)?

We're not down til Nov 1st (cracking timing!), so I can't take advantage.

Dontlickthetrolley · 02/08/2019 22:53

Near Wickes Fluffy. Send me a shopping list if you want 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 02/08/2019 22:56

😂😂

Ahhhh. There's so many potential places it could be there!

I googled and found one in the next town. I feel a mission coming on when I get paid!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/08/2019 23:59

I've just discovered what may be a new customer deal. Or maybe just a promotion. But Amazon Pantry have spend £30 get £10 off. I've stocked up on dishwasher tablets, Persil, Fairy washing up liquid and Marmite, plus a couple of other bits. It's not a total bargain, but has saved a bit of money on the shop price.

BlackeyedGruesome · 03/08/2019 00:08

One in a nearish town here too. Maybe not worth travelling as I am pretty stocked up already.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2019 08:01

I still need loo roll and you can never have too much Persil, so I'll take a look, I think. It's only a short trip really, so it's possibly worth it.

I don't find the basic Finish dishwasher tablets that good, so tend to pay more for the red ones. Or get the mid-range Fairy ones.

Dontlickthetrolley · 03/08/2019 08:07

I got some Persil dishwasher tablets, 28 for £1.69 at a cheap discount warehouse place (the one near the hospital roundabout Fluffy!) they seem to work OK!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2019 08:09

I've not tried Persil ones. I can see me heading home with a full car when I've been down next time! 😂😂

TheFlis12345 · 03/08/2019 11:43

@MotherWol is it a particular ratatouille you get? That would be a great addition to our stash.

Where do people buy their falafel mix? I can’t find it in Tesco or Waitrose near me.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 03/08/2019 11:47

TheFlis I get mine at Ocado but you can buy multipacks on Amazon. Having looked it might be cheaper so I may well switch to amazon

BlackeyedGruesome · 03/08/2019 12:02

Falafel mix: dried chick peas. Turmeric, cumin, dried coriander, chickpea flour,

Ah yes I can see a packet is easier!

BlackeyedGruesome · 03/08/2019 15:46

The stash is dusty and grubby. Pulling stuff out from behind the sofa, it's all dusty, and I am going to hoover up the bugs that are eating my fabric stash.

ifonly4 · 03/08/2019 16:06

If anyone buys falafel mix from Tescos (I know they have it online), any idea which aisle I'd find it on? My DD would love it.

SistemaAddict · 04/08/2019 12:13

I'm getting to the bottom of my tea stash now and don't have any dishwasher tablets in the cupboard apart from the open packet. I'm really miffed that I've misplaced all the Waitrose vouchers I was sent Sad I love Waitrose for a good stock up of pasta, rice, juice, butter (they sell big blocks).

Socksontheradiator · 04/08/2019 13:50

Do Lidl sell the big bags of rice, anyone know? Off in a bit to have a look :)

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/08/2019 15:48

Been to buy stacker boxes from Asda. Also picked up a few bits and bobs. £120 of bits and bobs.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/08/2019 15:57

Bought birthday wrapping paper for the stash. Forgot the fecking cellotape again. They had cool bags on offer so bought two, plus some camping pans , started on the stocking fillers. Probably continuing stocking fillers as I have a few already.

Iambuffy · 04/08/2019 16:12

Ah. Cards and paper. Good call!
Ds2s b day next month sorted.
New school stuff sorted.
I need to start thinking about xmas.
Sigh.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/08/2019 17:08

@Bercows, I think my recent Waitrose ones expire this weekend, so we'll be due more soon.

I have a shit tonne of paper and cards of all descriptions. I'm well-sorted on that front!

Saffronesque · 04/08/2019 20:52

@Bercows

Mine & 2 sets of family ones all expired today.

If we're lucky, more will come Tuesday

NoWordForFluffy · 04/08/2019 20:53

Sainsbury's sell the large blocks of butter too, by the way.
