Hannan looking like a car salesman and decrying the nastiness of discourse between Leave and Remain. He can talk!

Hard Brexit parties: 34.9%
Conservatives/Labour: 22.8%

BigChocFrenzy · 27/05/2019 01:01

If someone justified the murder of 2 little kids in my town, I wouldn't vote for them or for the party that deliberately chose them

Whether murder caused by terrorism or by paedophiles

HagridsBigToe · 27/05/2019 01:02

So everybody talking about "compromise" can agree that a hard Brexit is NOT the will of the people now?

Quintella · 27/05/2019 01:03

Tobias Ellwood on BBC throwing shade at Mark Francois.

HazardGhost · 27/05/2019 01:03

Right I just finished my ice cream.

On a personal note I'm delighted ukip is dead. I know the twattish terror turtles have taken ukip's place but not all active ukip members (the ones that hate hazard Grin ) jumped ship so they have lost....

And on that note I'm off to bed!

Night all 💐💖

BigChocFrenzy · 27/05/2019 01:03

Hannan is such a twisty weasel, Qunintella

I'm so cross he is one of the few surviving CON MEPs

RedToothBrush · 27/05/2019 01:03

Laura Kuenssberg @bbclaurak
So far... in these elections the combined tally for the two parties in favour of no deal, the Brexit Party and UKIP amounts to 35% - combined tally for the pro Second Referendum parties is 40%.

Yes Laura.

You sound surprised that No Deal isn't the most popular option.

Quintella · 27/05/2019 01:04

Me too, BigChoc! He's an awful little worm.

Would much prefer Charles Tannock to have survived as a Con MEP.

Quintella · 27/05/2019 01:05

Goodnight, Hazard. We can take comfort in knowing that Batten is out on his ear. That is cheering! Grin

Peregrina · 27/05/2019 01:06

Some comfort from Laura Koensberg who is a closet Tory as far as I am concerned:

This is their worst performance as a party going back to 1832. If this was a first-past-the-post election, they would not have taken a single seat.

RedToothBrush · 27/05/2019 01:07

Right I think thats all folks from me.

Lets see what tomorrow brings...

I suspect there will be a few rye smiles in Brussels tonight.

Thank you BCF red et al. Great thread. Smile Night all.

Icantreachthepretzels · 27/05/2019 01:09

Have all the English regions declared now?

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 27/05/2019 01:13

Have all the English regions declared now?
Was just double checking that myself. Just Scotland and NI left now

essayessay · 27/05/2019 01:16

Few points:
The remain vote includes EU citizens not entitled to vote in a GE.
There will be fair number of Leave voters who would have stayed at home on principle, but will vote in GE.
Finally, it seems quite clear that the ‘mood of the country’ has not shifted, which pretty much dismisses the prospect of a rerun ref.

So, looks like its leave with or without a deal.

Peregrina · 27/05/2019 01:24

I hope that the LDs get loads of BBC time now. They are the official EU opposition.
Don't hold your breath.

They shouldn't have voted for the IRA apologist who excused the IRA murder of 2 little children in Warrington, the day before Mother's Day
Ah but it's the Brexit party, so they will excuse themselves. If it had been Labour, the Leavers on these threads would have been screaming their heads off about it.

Peregrina · 27/05/2019 01:26

The remain vote includes EU citizens not entitled to vote in a GE.
It ought to have included some more who were disenfranchised at this election.

Littlespaces · 27/05/2019 01:28

So, looks like its leave with or without a deal.

No mandate. More young voters coming through all the time.

prettybird · 27/05/2019 01:29

I agree: don't hold your breath.

UKIP had 24 out of 73 MEPs in the last European Parliament.

Remind me again how many pro-EU MEPs have ever been on Question Time? Hmm

And outwith EP election nights, how many times are pro-EU MEPs like Alyn Smith or Catherine Bearder or Molly Scott Catto or Seb Dance interviewed on the BBC or Sky? Hmm

Angry
prettybird · 27/05/2019 01:31

I have thought about the positive of one Turquoise Party candidate winning a seat Wink: we no longer have to hear Claire Fox's reactionary views on Sky News' Press Preview Smile

Peregrina · 27/05/2019 01:35

Whoever wins the Tory leadership, do you think they will dare call an election? Drubbing in the Local elections, ' we must get on with Brexit', even bigger drubbing in the EU elections? Losing to a party with no policy except Leave and not a clue about the work involved.

Theresa May was very stupid, but she did wake up in the end to the amount of work required, so a very small part of me hopes that history will be a little kinder to her reputation.

prettybird · 27/05/2019 01:38

I don't think they'd dare choose to call an election - but they might be forced to if they lose a vote of NC in parliament, which might happen if No Deal looks like being the approach that the new PM is going to take Hmm

phpolly · 27/05/2019 01:47

.

RedToothBrush · 27/05/2019 01:48

Yaxley-Milkshakeface only got 2.7% of the vote.

So he lost his £5000 deposit.
