BCF - I realise that about Corbyn. My sarcasm obviously wasn't evident enough Wink

I'll say the same thing about him that I'd meant to say about Francois.

Wanker Angry

They're as bad as each other.

Jellykat · 27/05/2019 00:51

Absolutely Red

Quintella · 27/05/2019 00:51

Sorry. Are you saying that people shouldn’t have voted for Brexit because of the IRA?

You seem confused.

HagridsBigToe · 27/05/2019 00:51

Well, Brexit is hardly going to calm things in NI or the Republic, is it?

We're winning. Smile

@Peston
With three quarters of counts completed, the combined LibDem and Green vote share is 32.6%, compared with 13.6% for Labour. So @jeremycorbyn’s Brexit triangulation, or facing both ways on Brexit, has been catastrophic for his party. Also Tory vote of 9.2% (!!!) is so low...

compared with Brexit Party’s 31.6% that the humiliation will condition Tory leadership elections and the party itself long after them. Any Tory candidate proposing anything other than clean rupture with EU on 31 October will be seen as away with the fairies by most Tory members

Antigonads · 27/05/2019 00:52

You mentioned the bombing.

BigChocFrenzy · 27/05/2019 00:52

They shouldn't have voted for the IRA apologist who excused the IRA murder of 2 little children in Warrington, the day before Mother's Day

Everytimeref · 27/05/2019 00:52

Don't agree with Corbyn often but the only way out is an election. Another referendum just won't sort out the situation. (Just want the Labour party to change leader first)
The Brexit party haven't won this "election" The UKip voters have moved over the Brexit party. They haven't really increased their share of the vote.

Quintella · 27/05/2019 00:53

Warrington voted for Claire Fox who refused to condemn the IRA bombing of....Warrington.

RedToothBrush · 27/05/2019 00:54

UKIP + Brexit 35%
LDs + Greens + Change 35%
(source John Curtice's Gob on the BBC)

BigChocFrenzy · 27/05/2019 00:54

pretty sorry, I realised Smile
but I was posting why some voters didn't

HagridsBigToe · 27/05/2019 00:54

I think you have to count UKIP and probably Conservative votes as pro-Brexit. And the English Democrats etc to compare properly. I'll have a go tomorrow when I'm awake!

colouringinpro · 27/05/2019 00:55

N8ce one Hunkydory I hope not too many went CUK over LibDem

RedToothBrush · 27/05/2019 00:56

Rossendale (North West) result: Brex: 44.7% (+44.7) Lab: 19.5% (-7.8) LDem: 15.7% (+12.8) Con: 11.5% (-13.7) UKIP: 5.2% (-26.3)

Peter Ungphakorn @CoppetainPU
Thank goodness for John Curtice. Clarity on the lack of clarity of the numbers

BigChocFrenzy · 27/05/2019 00:56

Fox justified the IRA atrocity in Warrington after it happened and refuses to say now she was wrong

prettybird · 27/05/2019 00:56

Don't understand why Curtice has just excluded the "Nationalists" (meaning Plaid and the SNP) from the "Remain" tally, as he says that some Leavers voted for them Confused

Their policies are explicitly and consistently Remain Confused

woman19 · 27/05/2019 00:57

That is amazing red
As Lucas has just said: without funding without press (and as she didn't say, despite voter suppression), 35%!

RedToothBrush · 27/05/2019 00:57

Curtice didn't include the SNP nor Plaid...

Worst Tory performance since 1832.

Laura K finally pointing out how appallingly the Cons have done.

BigChocFrenzy · 27/05/2019 00:58

Yes, pretty Just as likely for say Greens to be voting on other issues

Quintella · 27/05/2019 00:58

Yes, I find that very strange prettybird. The vast majority of SNP voters are strongly Remain. I assume the same is true of Plaid.

Antigonads · 27/05/2019 00:58

I agree re Fox but don’t think people voted for individuals but the party.

BigChocFrenzy · 27/05/2019 00:59

We can only go by official party policy
which is clearly Remain for SNP, Plaid, Green, LDems, ChUK

prettybird · 27/05/2019 01:00

Kuenssburg has just pointed out that under FPTP, the Conservatives would not have won a single seat Shock (Grin)

....not that I would want the Turquoise Party to win the seats in their place. GEs are different beasts.

A manifesto rather than a single toad man for starters Wink
