I'm going to vote for an MP that supports Brexit and leaving the customs union and single market. What about the rest of you?

I don’t know. I think ideologically I am Lib Dem but in safe conservative seat where labour were second last time so will consider more nearer the time.

HPFA · 30/03/2019 14:13

Would be good if the next elections were the European ones - voting on PR would be a good opportunity for people to have a meaningful vote.

Dolly2007 got to be trolling us with that Lisbon Treaty crap surely? No one interested enough to post on a Mumsnet Brexit thread is unaware that that is fake.

Doubletrouble99 · 30/03/2019 14:14

I'm in one of the Scottish seats that changed from SNP to Tory in the last election.
I would vote Tory to keep the SNP out.

Fresta · 30/03/2019 14:16

Heidi Allen would in theory get my vote- she's northern, not an eton/oxford graduate, a business woman, has had a proper job etc. However, her voting history is not good- she's a brexiteer originally, voted against benefits, human rights, europe, etc. hmm

WhenDoISleep · 30/03/2019 14:22

There is no viable alternative in my constituency - one of the safest Tory seats in the country that has never been held by a party other than the Conservatives, even under previous boundaries. We were marginally remain in the referendum. Interestingly, we have local elections on 2 May and the Tories never poll well in those, in fact I had someone knock on the door the other day asking for signatures for (Tory) candidates to get them on the ballot, and the sheet was empty.

havingtochangeusernameagain · 30/03/2019 14:27

Libdem but live in a very safe Tory seat and don't think that will change, so wasted vote.

Nat6999 · 30/03/2019 15:02

Labour, live in a Labour stronghold. My MP is brilliant & has done so much for the area.

bellinisurge · 30/03/2019 15:20

No one I can vote for so I will spoil my paper. Sadly my local MP is on what I see as the wrong side on a local issue.

DivisionBelles · 30/03/2019 15:29

Any party that supports revoking or remaining in the EU. Our local MP Tory twat has a reasonable majority though and we are in a Leave area so he'll probably get in again.

Dolly2007 · 30/03/2019 15:31

@HPFA I do believe the if we stay in the EU the euro will be brought in, we will have a federal state and the stock exchange will move to Germany.

Article 11&12 will stop people sharing what is going on in other countries.

I'm concerned about being dragged down this path.

Fresta - why do you say that Heidi Allen was originally a Brexiteer? Didn't she campaign for Remain? Confused

I know she voted for A50 to be triggered, but both main parties whipped to do that Hmm

Tavannach · 30/03/2019 15:38

Sorry OP but you're living in cloud cuckoo land. There's no actual evidence for any of that.

Decormad38 · 30/03/2019 15:45

If anyone votes Tory after the shambolic mess they have created between them then they need their heads examined!

Heatherjayne1972 · 30/03/2019 15:47

I think the turnout will be incredibly low
With Half the country not voting because their candidate isn’t brexity enough
And the other half think their candidate is far too brexity

Jb291 · 30/03/2019 15:47

Nobody. What would be the point

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 30/03/2019 15:50

An independent candidate

JustAnotherPoster00 · 30/03/2019 15:55

Labour probably especially if the manifesto is similar to the 2017 one, but live in a Plaid safe seat

JustAnotherPoster00 · 30/03/2019 15:56

Oh and to the poster who said 'which ever Labour candidate who stands against chuka' I applaud you

user1457017537 · 30/03/2019 15:57

I am never voting again. Democracy is dead

prettybird · 30/03/2019 16:36

More fool you then. Hmm

"If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy." as a prominent if lazy politician once said.

Mistigri · 30/03/2019 16:38

If I get my vote in time, I'll vote for the best remain candidate (would be Labour in my constituency).

ilovesooty · 30/03/2019 16:51

My MP is a Labour Remainer and I see no reason not to vote for him.

PickleSarnie · 30/03/2019 16:59

Your a remainer nothing will convince you otherwise may the Lisbon Treaty 2020 might persuade you. I think it might concern a few remoaners.

Seriously?!?!?!

FFS. This is why we should never had been allowed to vote on our position in the EU. Because people are too stupid to educate themselves and believe any old shite copy and pasted on the internet.

Here, I saved you the tiny effort involved in googling: fullfact.org/europe/viral-list-about-lisbon-treaty-wrong/

havingtochangeusernameagain · 30/03/2019 17:01

Why do people going on about the Lisbon Treaty 2020? There isn't any such thing!

HPFA · 30/03/2019 17:13

Dolly2007 Well, if you believe it who cares whether it's true or not? I suggest you don't take the same attitude to things your doctor tells you. Seriously that might work on Twitter but, as I said before, any pro Remain person posting on here is going to be too well informed to fall for that so don't waste your time.

People ask why Remainers don't accept the result - maybe because we're giving up real tangible benefits because people believe any old shit they read without bothering to check whether it's true or not.
