I'm going to vote for an MP that supports Brexit and leaving the customs union and single market. What about the rest of you?

Just to say to Portillista - Portillo really went up in my estimation when he lost, by being gracious in defeat. He's much better doing his stuff about Bradshaw and railways.

mama1980 · 30/03/2019 13:06

Lib Dem or green I think.

Dolly2007 · 30/03/2019 13:06

@BercowsSilkTie Your a remainer nothing will convince you otherwise may the Lisbon Treaty 2020 might persuade you. I think it might concern a few remoaners. I respect your position and I am entitled to my own opinion.

While I think a GE before the end of the year is probably an inevitability, I can’t see it helping to break the current deadlock.

I don’t think Labour or Conservative could win a majority. Both party manifestos would be based on Leave and neither would get the support of Remain parties. Remain MPs together couldn’t get a majority.

The whole political system is currently an unworkable mess.

DullPortraits · 30/03/2019 13:07

Oh Dolly.. bless you.. so naive ThanksHmm

BercowsSilkTie · 30/03/2019 13:08

Still not sharing what forms your opinions though, are you? Yet you see fit to call those who voted remain names. Not exactly helping yourself here, are you.

Darkbendis · 30/03/2019 13:11

SNP.

WickedGoodDoge · 30/03/2019 13:12

Lifelong Tory voter but I’ll be voting SNP. Never thought I’d say that. Grin

Dolly2007 · 30/03/2019 13:15

@BercowsSilkTie Sorry what names did I call you or others?

OP posts:
BercowsSilkTie · 30/03/2019 13:16

BramblyHedge · 30/03/2019 13:16

Anyone who can beat Steve Baker

Dolly2007 · 30/03/2019 13:18

@BercowsSilkTie ahh yes, my apologises. Remainer

It's very difficult in my true blue anti-foreigner leave constituency to find any suitable alternative to vote for. Last time I tried to vote tactically, but it still made no difference. It would be interesting to poll local opinion now as they really want Brexit and their party of choice aren't delivering. Plus our MP is a Minister so backs TM all the way.

It's horrible living somewhere where you're vote really doesn't count.

LittleAndOften · 30/03/2019 13:23

*your

goddam autocorrect

Starlight456 · 30/03/2019 13:24

I think they are all a load of self cantred , self interested people who are more interested in scoring political points than the country itself.

There is not one I support

dontcallmelen · 30/03/2019 13:31

My head says none of them, as most have behaved disgracefully also the FPTP is clearly not working & hasn’t done so for a very long time especially those who’s vote doesn’t seem to count if they live in particular areas. I don’t like Corbyn but my Labour MP is very good so I will be voting for her, unless a very good independent candidate were standing, then I may possibly switch.

CaptainBrickbeard · 30/03/2019 13:38

I live in the constituency of a painfully stupid No-Deal Brexiter whose semi-literate Twitter feed is non-stop nonsensical sound bites. I would vote for the candidate most likely to beat her! I despise Corbyn but I think the priority is to get rid of the far-right Brextremists who are determined to drag the country into ruin.

Sunshine1239 · 30/03/2019 13:43

Tory

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 30/03/2019 13:46

The most important thing to me is protecting Scotland’s place in the U.K. and heading off another Independence referendum, so probably Tory as they are the strongest voice against Independence. Tactically, Labour would be the best bet of replacing my SNP MP, but Labour have been quite weak on the Union issue and I suspect they would get into bed with the SNP in the event of another hung parliament (quite likely). Plus Jeremy Corbyn and his top team make my skin crawl!

cheesenpickles · 30/03/2019 13:46

Fuck knows Sad

prettybird · 30/03/2019 13:47

SNP Smile

God knows what I'd vote if I lived in England Confused. LibDem or Green - or TIG if I lived in one of their constituencies. Anyone who supported Remain Smile.

IsolaPribby · 30/03/2019 13:49

Monster Raving Looney Party

(Only partly joking)

prettybird · 30/03/2019 13:52

Remember that even if you are in a "safe" seat (Tory or Labour), then voting, say, Green in opposition to them will increase the overall percentage of people who vote Green. Therefore the state broadcaster, under the terms of its charter, will be forced to increase its coverage of them. Smile

That's how Farage got the oxygen of publicity Sad, despite not having a single MP Hmm

So don't just spoil your vote.

SilentSister · 30/03/2019 13:53

Well I'd vote for anyone who could make a firm decision. The position we are in now is frankly comical. Honestly, I would rather we came out completely, hard brexit, or revoked Article 50. This fannying around in the middle is completely pointless. There is no point in soft brexit, or Norway or Canada plus, or any of the others, as we are better off in rather than those options. Sadly, none of our MP's or parties are in agreement with anything at the moment, so an Election is also a complete waste of time.

As for a Labour government, if you think Brexit would be bad for this country, then Labour isn't a viable alternative either. Watson and Starmer maybe, but if Corbyn and McDonnell get in there is no hope for our economy.

BercowsSilkTie · 30/03/2019 13:59

I'll be interested to see what Change UK do.
My Tory MP is a clueless fuckwit with a dubious voting record. His votes vary depending on the day. We have an excellent labour candidate but labour no longer have my support due to brexit and self id plus Lily Madigan. LibDem and green are morally deficient with self ID and the Chanellors. So no idea. I hope the Tiggers do something good and have policies that will be good for all.
