I'm going to vote for an MP that supports Brexit and leaving the customs union and single market. What about the rest of you?

I am politically homeless. They are, to a (wo)man, a total shower of shite and incompetence. No party is coming out of this with any sort of reason. The whole farce has been mismanaged from the decision to have the referendum on. I am embarrassed that these people claim to represent us, or pretend to have the best interests of the country at heart. I am beginning to believe it was ever thus. I shall vote but it’s likely to be whatever independent candidate is best for my county unless something truly spectacular happens in any of the major parties.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 31/03/2019 11:56

No party is coming out of this with any sort of reason.

The SNP have been consistent all the way through, including voting against the triggering of Article 50 and refusing to back May's deal.

Holidayshopping · 31/03/2019 11:59

Remain which will be Labour round here.

SusanWalker · 31/03/2019 12:20

I voted for Labour last time and my Tory MP had his majority severely reduced. But I will not vote for them this time, unless they stop being pro brexit.

I am sick of my vote at the last election being counted as pro brexit, when I was voting on an entire manifesto. I also partly voted for them because I had a good chat with the candidate and he was a really decent guy, who took my concerns about my disabled son's education seriously.

I might vote TIG or Lib dem or even mebyon kernow as they are all pro remain.

I think if we have an election soon it will act as a proxy for a referendum. So it won't matter so much which MPs will get in, but the vote share for pro remain and pro brexit parties will be analysed to death. That's why I hope we have european elections this year, as being proportional representation us remainers can get out and vote for pro remain parties and really send a message.

I don't know who I'd want in power. There are some brilliant MPs but none of them are on either front bench. Both main parties are being run by fringe factions, and although the Tory cabinet is more balanced for now, when Boris gets in and JRM is promoted we will be even more in the shit.

If you want a voice on the next Conservative party leader, and who the Conservative candidate for Kensington will be, join Conservative Party ! You Don't need to be a UK citizen but must live here and be over 15.

The current RBKC MP is an extreme Corbyn supporter. Kensington and the UK need competent politicians. Please join to Conservative party.

Libdem. We have a cracking local candidate. Our current MP is in the ERG - her constituency voted 62.7% and she's been publicly very dismissive of our concerns. I'm hoping we will show her the door.

PestyMachtubernahme · 31/03/2019 12:40

A vote is not valid unless 30% of the electorate votes

Any chance of a link to go with Dolly , I didn't know this and can't find anything about it.

I really have not decided who to vote for yet.

Holidayshopping · 31/03/2019 12:41

I wonder how much the deciding factor for who people choose to vote for in the next generation elections will be-Brexit or Remain?!

Besom · 31/03/2019 12:42

Probably SNP. I'm a natural Labour voter but will only vote for them if they are clearly advocating another vote. Labour need the Scottish vote but also the leave voters which is why they are inherently stuffed.

LondonResident · 31/03/2019 12:45

If you want a voice on the next Conservative Party leader join the Conservative party ! You don't need to be a citizen but must live here, and be over 15.

And you must be a member for 3 months before you can participate. Please Join Today ! We need competent politicians.

The80sweregreat · 31/03/2019 12:54

We need a ' centre ' party.
Labour needs a new leader.
Article 50 should be revoked. Brexit isn't ever going to be sorted out otherwise. Then a rethink ( in a couple of years time)
Breathing space.

The80sweregreat · 31/03/2019 12:57

TM won't contest her seat in Kent if there was an election ( I imagine)
The voters in that area will still vote Tory ( even if they voted remain in the referendum)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/03/2019 13:06

It matters not one bit who I vote for, where I am has been a Tory stronghold for ever.
I will vote for whoever promises to revoke and not hold another referendum!

Unescorted · 31/03/2019 13:08

I voted Labour last time because my local MP has consistently voted for remaining in Europe and canvassed on that premise. The Lib Dem candidate had an ice cubes chance in hell of being elected.

I am now being told repeatedly that I am one of the 80% who voted to leave Europe because I voted for one of the parties that wanted to leave Europe. I cannot risk that happening again - therefore it will need to be for a candidate who is clearly going to vote to remain / re join Europe who is a member of a party with a clear unequivocal policy to remain/ re join Europe.

UnPocoLoco2 · 31/03/2019 13:11

Too early on Mother's Day to get into this 💩 but I doubt I'll vote. They are all the same and it's simply trying to elect the better person from a bad bunch.

wannabebetter · 31/03/2019 13:18

I'd hope for a better choice for NI rather than batshit DUP or non attendees Sinn Féin!!!

PaddyF0dder · 31/03/2019 13:19

SNP all the way.

In Scotland we’re lucky to have a valid left-wing anti-Brexit progressive party that actually acts in opposition at Westminster.

I feel sorry for English voters. Tories are selfish arseholes. Labour are ineffectual self-sabotaging tribal idiots. Fuck knows what the Lib Dem’s do. If you’re a small-minded bigot then I suppose UKIP are good at that.

SNP all the way.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/03/2019 14:29

I'm suspicious of our local MP, I think she's possibly an android programmed by a Tory bod somewhere to parrot the PM with a very fake smile painted on her face at all times - she's very polished, a bit too polished.

AdvancedAvoider · 31/03/2019 14:39

I'll be voting for anyone but our Tory mp who is a bloody Brexiteer in a Remain constituency.

I'm going to have to do some reading.

acatcalledjohn · 31/03/2019 14:43

I live in a Tory safe seat. I would never vote Tory, but my MP is a remainer. However, I could never vote Tory, there is too much in that party. We don't normally have a Green Party candidate, so I'm left with Lib Dem (I assume, presuming they'll have a candidate locally), and Labour. The latter depends entirely on whether JC is still leader of the party, in which case Labour can fuck the fuck off.

I'd probably end up spoiling my ballot again, like I did in the election before last. Prior to that I have been Lib Dem, but my last vote went to Labour just because our local candidate was a particularly good one. Purely based on local wants.

I wish more people would spoil their ballot papers. Can you imagine if out of a turnout of 10 million people only 5 million people would vote for someone? The other 5 million have then actively stated that they value their right to vote but that there is no one worth voting for.

Or perhaps we need to switch to a true democratic voting system, where representation in the HoC actually reflects the votes and where referendums aren't binding. After all, living in a safe seat means your vote is utterly meaningless unless it is for the safe party. My vote for Labour in this safe Tory area means I am not represented in parliament, and that grates on me.

prettybird · 31/03/2019 14:45

For those that say that they won't vote because it won't make any difference: please do vote Smile

Whoever you vote for (even if it's for UKIP I say through gritted teeth Wink), it does make a difference to how the MSM reports the different parties - the overall percentages. That's how UKIP got its excessive extended coverage. If, say, the Greens, go a big boost, it could make a big difference Smile

We'd notice the difference immediately in the proportion of Party Political Broadcasts that the different parties are awarded Smile

acatcalledjohn · 31/03/2019 14:45

However, I could never vote Tory, there is too much in that party that I don't agree with.

(It would really help if I finish my sentences Blush)

AlphaJura · 31/03/2019 14:59

Labour. In a Tory safe seat though ☹️.

wigglypiggly · 31/03/2019 15:01

what's the point, they don't listen to the people, if we revoke then what a complete waste of time, money, effort and disrespect to the people who voted to leave.

rocketpocket · 31/03/2019 15:07

Socialist Democratic Party.
