I'm going to vote for an MP that supports Brexit and leaving the customs union and single market. What about the rest of you?

I'm in a very safe Labour London seat. I despise what Corbyn stands for. Will probably vote LD again. It will be interesting to see if a TIG candidate stands, but it won't make a difference locally.

InfiniteSheldon · 30/03/2019 17:46

Anyone who promises to uphold democracy.and honour the Referendum.

AdoraBell · 30/03/2019 17:53

Next election might be the first time I don’t vote. Both main parties have shown themselves to be unreliable. Where I live the only real candidates are Conservative or Lib Dem. if I vote Lib Dem it would probably the same as spoiling my ballet paper.

ElenadeClermont · 30/03/2019 17:53

LD or Green. Possibly Labour if she comes out against Brexit. (She won't.)

JustAnotherPoster00 · 30/03/2019 18:00

ElenadeClermont you've not got bloody Hoey have you? I'm so so sorry if you have

Dolly2007 · 30/03/2019 18:32

Liberal Democrat's didn't do well last election. We voted for parties on the whole who said they would leave. A lot of remainers I know don't have the vote as they're from EU counties so maybe remainers are not as many as it appears although I know several that have applied for British citizenship since the referendum.

BercowsSilkTie · 30/03/2019 19:00

The election was not just about brexit though. I read through the manifesto of several parties before making my decision. Health, education, welfare, all played a major part in my decision. The referendum was already a year old by that point and we were set to leave. No point voting for a remaining party if their policies didn't stand up to any scrutiny on my values as it was a done deal for the referendum. Now we know different of course, and it seems it's not a done deal, for which I am very glad. But please don't conflate the referendum vote and the general election of 12 months later.

RussellSprout · 30/03/2019 19:01

My local MP has joined the new change/independent party. I would have voted for her anyway, she was Labour, but reluctantly. Now it's enthusiastically. Think there is a real gap in the market for a new centrist party.

LassOfFyvie · 30/03/2019 19:03

Probably Lib Dem , same as last time to prevent the SNP taking the seat. Should Conservatives be more like, I'll vote Tory. Labour have never held this seat.

LassOfFyvie · 30/03/2019 19:07

The most important thing to me is protecting Scotland’s place in the U.K. and heading off another Independence referendum, so probably Tory as they are the strongest voice against Independence. Tactically, Labour would be the best bet of replacing my SNP MP, but Labour have been quite weak on the Union issue and I suspect they would get into bed with the SNP in the event of another hung parliament (quite likely). Plus Jeremy Corbyn and his top team make my skin crawl!

Are you me ! Fortunately Labour have no chance in my constituency.

notangelinajolie · 30/03/2019 22:07

My current MP is a well respected high profile Conservative Brexiteer so he will get my vote if he stands. Failing that any party that supports Brexit.

Coppersulphate · 30/03/2019 22:24

Conservative as long as my MP supports Brexit

Caucasianchalkcircles · 30/03/2019 22:36

Not sure - either Lib Dem or a candidate from the independent group if we are allocated one. Always voted labour tbh but not JC’s greatest fan and don’t like their stance on Brexit so depends on what their candidate was like. I live in one of those odd northern constituencies - long history of socioeconomic deprivation, traditionally labour, occasionally Lib Dem but which voted overwhelmingly to leave and now are pretty much bluekip strongholds with our first Tory mp in years. You couldn’t make it up !

Maryjoxk · 30/03/2019 22:38

Tory or UKIP I’d push comes to shove

SlipperyLizard · 30/03/2019 22:47

I won’t vote for any party that supports Brexit, lest people take my vote to mean that I support Brexit. So not Labour unless Jeremy wakes up.

I’m in a Lib Dem/Con marginal (currently Con, stupid Brexiter MP) but I don’t want to vote Lib Dem cos they don’t know what a woman is.

So I don’t know - Brexit needs to be stopped, if only because it is stopping the government from doing anything else (and will continue to do so for years).

BercowsSilkTie · 30/03/2019 22:49

Wow, someone who is prepared to admit they would vote for a fascist party UKIP.

Dolly2007 · 30/03/2019 22:54

@BercowsSilkTie it will probably be the new Brexit party, not a fascist party and diverse.

OP posts:
MadgeMak · 30/03/2019 22:57

A party that's pro remain and knows that a woman is an adult human female.

BercowsSilkTie · 30/03/2019 22:58

The brexit party headed by fascist Farage? PP said you were naive but that was being kind.

Fudgenugget · 30/03/2019 22:59

Spoiling my ballot. I dislike them all.

namechange3858383572 · 30/03/2019 23:05

Labour

LAlady · 30/03/2019 23:12

My MP is the present incumbent of Number 10. I won't be voting for her, that's for sure. It's a Tory safe seat and her constituency voted to remain.

So for me, it'll be Lib Dem.

DangermousesSidekick · 30/03/2019 23:47

If there's a Renew candidate standing in my area I'll vote for them. Failing that I'd be tempted to vote for Monster Raving Loonies. More seriously I suppose it's Labour or spoiling the ballot.
We voted for parties on the whole who said they would leave. Get real. Most parties said they would leave, there was not much choice. As for Remainers being mostly from the EU, what absolute tosh. Perhaps where you are, but not throughout the country.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 31/03/2019 09:15

I'm in a relatively safe SNP ward and I'll be voting SNP. I would love a situation where Labour agree to a coalition with the SNP and the Libdems as I reckon that good decisions and compromises would be made which would truly be for the good of the country and not the elite.

If we do end up leaving the EU I will be hoping for an indyref2 and voting for independence. I wasn't convinced back in 2014, but I definitely want to remain within the EU and if that's the only way to do it, then so be it.

Horehound · 31/03/2019 09:16

SNP
