Westminstenders: Happy Brexit Day!

Happy Brexit day!

Oh wait. No its not.

May looks like she is going to bring the MVIII (Meaningful Vote 3) tomorrow minus the PD (political declaration).

The legalities of this are questionable should the vote pass. The MV needs to have an accompanying PD, by law under the terms of the Withdrawal Act.

That's kind of irrelevant given the likelihood of the deal passing anyway. The DUP have apparently negotiated a 'Stormont Lock' to get more assurances, only for them promptly to say there's no chance of them voting for the deal anyway.

The vote is all about Labour v Conservatives and where we can lay the blame for no deal in two weeks time.

Meanwhile we are already into a prolonged Tory Leader Election with all its glorious gentlemanly behaviour.

Anyway its time for extra time and national riots for delaying Brexit.

Wonder if there'll be any angry leaver threads tomorrow? I do love a good batshit thread Grin

tobee · 28/03/2019 22:46

I was only thinking last night that that twunt Gavin Williamson would have a go! It's amazing one so young could be such an arse. He'll probably win now

Seen lots of talk of an anyone but Boris ramping up since last night. Colossal bellend indeed He'll probably win now.

I'm very good at backing the wrong horse-- 🐎

RevokeRemainRebuild · 28/03/2019 22:48

JRM supporting WA tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if DUP vote for it, too.

God I hope Peston is wrong

Whatthefoxgoingon · 28/03/2019 22:52

I concur with peston, whilst hoping we’re both wrong Sad

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 28/03/2019 22:52

I can't cope with all this. Think I've got shingles now, as I'm so run down and stressed by all this crap.
Im just dismayed at how they are playing with people's lives just for their own grubby chance at powerand generally the people I talk to have no idea..

Icantreachthepretzels · 28/03/2019 22:53

I thought JRM had said this morning that he wasn't supporting the deal because the DUP weren't. It took him about 12 hours to flip from supporting it back to voting against it again - has he now done a complete 360?

Can we have bets on numbers of BeLeavers in the Big Smoke tomorrow? It may well be literal if they need crowd control...I'm guessing 7,500.

Now we know Gove has a dog the passing of the No Pet Eating Acts of last month finally make sense. Poor little bugger is lucky to be around , although he is looking out of the door rather wistfully.

celtiethree · 28/03/2019 22:59

For those that follow Peston and for something not specifically Brexit related he was on radio 4 - my teenage diaries this week!

SusanWalker · 28/03/2019 22:59

Have been taking some time out from it all and watching Deutschland 83 (again) before moving onto Deutschland 86. And knitting. Bliss.

Liz Truss is my nightmare pm. I cannot bear her in any way, shape or form. I think it's because I watched an interview once where she was very dismissive of benefits claimants. She comes across as hard as nails.

I don't see how anyone can vote for the WA tomorrow with absolutely no guarantee about what will be in the political declaration. You're signing a blank cheque, to be given to whichever loon is the next pm.

LarkDescending · 28/03/2019 22:59

Happy 11pm - cheers! Wine

LonelyTiredandLow · 28/03/2019 23:00

Pleased to report my friend who doubted our mistrust in state broadcaster today spoke to a fellow march who is HM at a very naice school who she said was completely in agreement! She has now accepted she was blinkered and is reading/watching with fresh eyes Smile

I'd forgotten the March to Leave, so had a look at their website.

Not the most original statement, but God I hate what all this has done to us all.

Butterymuffin · 28/03/2019 23:06

JRM supporting WA tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if DUP vote for it, too.

I would. Pains me to say it but the DUP have been clearer on this issue at least that they will not switch sides for something that involves reneging on their priorities. Teresa hasn't been able to offer them anything this time. They're going nowhere.

GroovieGazelloo · 28/03/2019 23:08

Thanks Red.
Beautiful picture Borntobequiet. Smile

LonelyTiredandLow · 28/03/2019 23:08

Apparently the 'rally' starts at 4pm Hmm
Seems an odd time, especially if offices are closing for the whole day? I can't help feeling many will be drinking around then...
