Westminstenders: Happy Brexit Day!

Happy Brexit day!

Oh wait. No its not.

May looks like she is going to bring the MVIII (Meaningful Vote 3) tomorrow minus the PD (political declaration).

The legalities of this are questionable should the vote pass. The MV needs to have an accompanying PD, by law under the terms of the Withdrawal Act.

That's kind of irrelevant given the likelihood of the deal passing anyway. The DUP have apparently negotiated a 'Stormont Lock' to get more assurances, only for them promptly to say there's no chance of them voting for the deal anyway.

The vote is all about Labour v Conservatives and where we can lay the blame for no deal in two weeks time.

Meanwhile we are already into a prolonged Tory Leader Election with all its glorious gentlemanly behaviour.

Anyway its time for extra time and national riots for delaying Brexit.

PMK and thanks red.

Bloody hell those headlines make me proper ratty!

prettybird · 28/03/2019 22:21

Definitely need calming chilled out regal cats in place!

So much for "negotiations with the EU always go down to the wire and they always blink" HmmConfused Except the UK, in its hubris and arrogance, didn't realise that the "they" in this case, is the UK ShockGrin

And finally. The Times.

Who seem to think we will not only get Brexit Day 1 (29th March) but also Brexit day 2 (12th April) but Brexit Day 3 next year.

Woohooo. Aren't we lucky.

Anyway I suggest a toast at 11pm to celebrate Brexit Day and to enjoy the spoils of incompetence in allowing us 14 more nights of blue with gold stars as our alternative flag.

You lot always explain this stuff so concisely for the less knowledgable amongst us, so I’m just going to sit here and listen, don’t mind me.

Butterymuffin · 28/03/2019 22:23

I know it's been said, but I never imagined we'd get to the actual day (as originally named) and still be so unprepared for, well, anything.

What are the chances of the WA vote going May's way tomorrow? Surely she still just doesn't have the numbers, even with some switching?

RedToothBrush · 28/03/2019 22:25

Surely she still just doesn't have the numbers, even with some switching?

Nope. She's well short and needs more than two dozen Labour votes which are more unlikely following her decision to remove the PD and resign.

When middle aged politicians start jogging for the cameras they're after the top prize.

Michael Gove jogs like two disjointed buttocks in an unstable tumble dryer.

You can imagine it in VineTowers

"Michael, we've got the cute dog and the hair cut sorted. Now get out there and tread some pavement."

OutwithMyRemit · 28/03/2019 22:30

How can such a cute dog live with slimy Gove Sad

Songsofexperience · 28/03/2019 22:31

I do feel sad for people who had voted in good faith and were looking forward to a celebration. How can they ever understand it's a disaster and they should celebrate it not happening? They will always be disappointed, no matter what...

Tanith · 28/03/2019 22:31

Wtf am I supposed to do with all my badges now?!?! I have bunting and vol-a-vonts and everything.

Hmm! Have they got pins, these badges? With sharp points?

RedToothBrush · 28/03/2019 22:32

The dog is keeping the Equilibrium in the Universe. Without it, we'd get one of those Dr Who effects with Michael Gove at the centre of it all.

Let's be honest - that's a man who hasn't been in games kit since he was 12. And it's the same kit.

Anyone else think that Nigel Farage should be in office to male the most out of the whole brexit thing?

nuttynutjob · 28/03/2019 22:42

PMK

Tegan delete Treeza, Farage, Brexshit

I was feeling a bit 'ok' with Gove and then I saw the pound shop Lady Macbeth's Twitter account. UK is doomed.
