Leavers, I'm a leaver... are you out there

BurpsandHustles · 26/03/2019 20:43

I know this thread will get trolled and spammed with the usual suspects demanding answers from us.

But I'm hoping any leavers out there could ignore them and tell me how their feeling.

Right now I'm wondering who the hell is speaking out for us? It's gone very quiet....

There is some momentum from pro Europe voices... but aside from a damp squib march from farage..does anyone else think it's gone eerily quiet!!

BurpsandHustles · 26/03/2019 22:33

Hidden.

Do you think our reps have gone suspicious ly quiet!

To be honest I'd be expecting someone with positive optimism to be speaking out now. And it's silence!!

burps

Seem to have missed my question

Didnt you vote remain?

JustHereForThePooStories · 26/03/2019 22:34

I’m a Leaver. Can’t wait for the UK to leave the EU and happy to have the hardest Brexit possible. I really believe that 52% of voters voted to leave, regardless of any type of deal. The deals don’t matter, leaving the EU does.

Now, I’m not British and I’ve never lived in the UK, but I’m sick of the lot of you and want you out. It’s pissing me off that my country is spending millions on preparing us for Brexit.

On the flip side though, we’ve seen a huge influx of jobs relocated from London.

Plus, the holiday home I’ve had my eye on in Cornwall has dropped over 20% in price. Another while, and some more uncertainty facing sterling, and I’ll be able to buy it for cash.

Just hope I’ll be able to actually purchase a home there without a UK passport but we’ll see.

March on, Leavers!

I genuinely think Tusk and co. are giving the wrong impression. EU Inc. may want the UK to stay, but I think normal Europeans just want you lot gone. Brits aren’t very popular outside of the UK.

SeeYouLaterUserData · 26/03/2019 22:36

OP, you'll have to get off the sofa and put some effort in if you want leave momentum, I'm afraid. Maybe you can hook up with Farage, Johnson and the Grand Wizards?

As you'll be aware, the will of the people in UK is to remain, these days (Britain Elects poll aggregation). The last referendum was won through illegal activity (Electoral Commission) and vast sums of cash invested by hedgies betting on the UK trashing itself on the back of xenophobia.

These days, you'll need to come up with something a bit better (fact-based if poss) because the courts and most of the population have woken up. Good luck and make it snappy before the Leave leaders get hammered into paying their fair dues under the EU Tax Directive!! Grin

jasjas1973 · 26/03/2019 22:37

I voted leave and want to leave

A well argued and compelling reason to leave the EU.

Or as another leaver put it today "it'll will be fine"

1tisILeClerc · 26/03/2019 22:38

{Those annoying remainers with their sensible reasoned arguments eh? Just shout 'we won, get over it' at them.}

I have just wasted quit a while presenting logical reasons why leaving may not be a great idea. Maybe some leavers would be courteous enough to think about what I have written, at which point you might understand that stripping away the 'feelz' aspect of Brexit the UK will be royally fucked by leaving.
It is fine that YOU might want it but you are being very unfair on your children and everyone else's children.

SeeYouLaterUserData · 26/03/2019 22:41

JustHereForThePooStories you're cheeky and you're right.

BurpsandHustles · 26/03/2019 22:41

Le clerc I'm so sorry Blush I've done all my reading already I just skim long posts like yours now.

I didn't ask or want long tracts on remain.

MY thread was to see if any leavers out there I can discuss with...

OP posts:
Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 26/03/2019 22:42

Hello burps

Are you ignoring me on purpose???

Youre allowed to change your mind obviously!!

Hellenbackagen · 26/03/2019 22:45

It's
Amazing!
I give my first hand experience of dealing with certain factions of eu community in the il and get deleted!

This is my real life experience as a
Police officer working within these communities. But I'm not allowed to say what those experiences are? Or I get deleted? Ooook .

Ohjustboreoff · 26/03/2019 22:46

@JustHereForThePooStories and Remainers wonder why people want to leave the EU. Why would we want to stay shackled to countries that obviously hate the British.
I won't slam the door on the way out and I'll try not to bring the rest of the fat hog that is the EU down with it.

Hellenbackagen · 26/03/2019 22:46

I am a leaver because I do the job I do.
I see the very worst of the eu in the uk.

Is that allowed?

PositiveAttitude · 26/03/2019 22:47

I voted leave and still want to leave. I agree with you BurpsandHustles and think there is apathy form other leavers.

I am fed up of being called an "idiot" on many facebook posts and on MN just because of my belief that we should not be tied into the EU. I don't badmouth the remainers - we believe differently, but I am not rude to them!

Locally there seems to be a lot of support still for the leave vote. Local facebook posts are full of leavers having their say, but the national media does seem to be biased and I feel they often scaremonger with economical doom stories.

MPs are just out to save their own jobs. So many are voting against what their constituents voted for. It is a total mess and I cant see any positive end to all this really. No group will be truly happy with what happens.

It is an exciting week in politics, but where we will be after 12th April now... who knows???

Theresa May has let everyone down. She is a remainer at heart, so has never really negotiated as a real leaver. She has tried to keep everyone happy - perhaps moreso the EU leaders than her own country, but has managed to not make anyone happy - except the EU leaders if we accept her deal!

Ohjustboreoff · 26/03/2019 22:49

@1tisILeClerc but that is your point of view if I don't share it why are you trying to ram it down my throat? I'm not trying to ram my beliefs down yours. My children will flourish in a country not shackled to Brussels as I will teach them to be resilient.

BurpsandHustles · 26/03/2019 22:49

Hellen

Yes of course that's allowed but mentioning community by name and singling them out is racist.

OP posts:
Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 26/03/2019 22:51

BURPS!!!

Gonna try yelling

What made you change your mind and feel so strongly about leave being the righ choice

I'm always interested when people change their mind, I haven't yet

JustHereForThePooStories · 26/03/2019 22:51

Why would we want to stay shackled to countries that obviously hate the British

Why indeed. Why did Britain stay “shackled” to India, Ireland, Malaya, Kenya.

I won't slam the door on the way out and I'll try not to bring the rest of the fat hog that is the EU down with it

BurpsandHustles · 26/03/2019 22:51

Oh just bore off... great name 😁😁. I hate to ask a question but what's the next step.

Wait and see what happens obviously but then what!

Where are the positive visions for us to latch onto and lead us along..
Maybe if may goes we will get someone more inspiring??

OP posts:
Hellenbackagen · 26/03/2019 22:53

I find the censorship on here very biased tbh.

I am a labour voter and always have been but people really do deserve to know the truth about some of the community that live here. It's not snobbery or racist. It's the truth.
I was a cop who was involved in teaching some newly arrived EU citizens that it's not ok to squat in the street and shit and piss there - to use a toilet! This is a truth no one wants to see! Or hear! Really you
Would
Delete my posts for telling a truth? ???

I've not named the community now just said eu citizens hope
That's pc enough to get this unmoderated? There is another side to eu freedom of movement. I deal with it. Please allow me to speak?

JustHereForThePooStories · 26/03/2019 22:53

Posted too soon

I won't slam the door on the way out and I'll try not to bring the rest of the fat hog that is the EU down with it

It’s astonishing that more EU countries aren’t queueing up to leave. Surely, seeing what a great idea Brexit is, they’re all so very keen to go too?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 26/03/2019 22:55

Im curious as to why the OP wasn't honest with her opening post and said

' i voted remain but would now vote leave...what can i do to help'

Rather than this 'we' and 'mean remainers' schtick

Not that curious to be fair Grin

1tisILeClerc · 26/03/2019 22:56

{I am a leaver because I do the job I do.
I see the very worst of the eu in the uk. }

Don't see why you would have been deleted but you are basing your wish to leave the EU on the fact you work with a very small but distinctly problematic group from one part of the EU. You are obviously ignoring doctors, nurses, bankers, husbands, wives and children from the rest of the EU27.
As a reverse, how do you think the people in the 'hen/stag party hotspots' enjoy having the UK 'dross' that go and spoil nice towns?

BurpsandHustles · 26/03/2019 22:57

Positive, I thought tm was good... a compromise for both sides but with enough experience of why people voted Brexit to bring it home.

Now I'm obviously not so sure. But would a brexiteer have got further or got us stuck sooner... when parliament doesn't want too deliver Brexit... what on earth can we do.

DID anyone read Starkey's 800 year's piece on democracy?

OP posts:
Ohjustboreoff · 26/03/2019 23:00

@BurpsandHustles we have to start building from the ground up. Start forming new alliances and trade agreements. It will be a long drawn out process. All the Remainers will shout that it will take too long but nothing worthwhile happens overnight.
I'm hoping that went trade is disrupted with the EU British farmers and small businesses will step up and start filling the gaps left by others. That's how business works, you see a gap and fill it. I want to see more British products on the shelves, it will be more expensive for a while but then items will find there price. All the better for British producers and businesses.
