They are ignoring the views of nearly half the country. This why the Americans need a 2/3rd majority to change the constitution - people change their minds! This is a mess of Tory making - I hope at least they are held accountable and are erased at the next election.

gluteustothemaximus · 22/03/2019 21:01

Since when are petitions only for the electorate? Brexit affects everyone in the UK, and also affects Europe too.

Keep signing. Keep sharing.

Adam3322 · 22/03/2019 21:02

deary me. some people really cant take the result of a referendum, i want to know what happens if when we have another the result is to remain, do we then get another as its a tie at 1-1 or does it go to a coin flip

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 22/03/2019 21:06

Hardly. Even on this thread people are encouraging people who aren't eligible to vote to sign.

Not true. It's a petition, not a vote. British citizens and residents are eligible to sign, even though not all of those who are eligible to sign would be eligible to vote. You seem to be confusing the two.

No, I'm not confusing anything. I'm pointing out that since people who aren't eligible to vote are signing, the numbers signing can't be compared to the numbers in the referendum vote.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 22/03/2019 21:13

Well, if they are eligible to sign a petition then why wouldn't they?

keepforgettingmyusername · 22/03/2019 21:25

Hopefully tomorrows protest gives the petition another boost.
