Westminstenders: Neglectful Drunkeness!

The HoC has spend the past 3 years in a state of Neglectful Drunkeness.

As it stands less then two weeks from Brexit Day, there is no deal we were promised. The Conservative and Labour Parties are more divided than ever.

The government is in disarray as 8 Cabinet ministers plus the chief whip voted against the Prime Minister including the Brexit Secretary who had minutes earlier argued for an extension only to vote against it. He is now on the brink of resignation.

The DUP look like they may be about to capitulate and vote for a deal. But it may not be enough even then.

This is what the cliff edge looks like.

Who wants to take a closer look?

GRAYLING: I did it personally
MAY: Wait... what?!

{ if you voted brexit because of sovereignty, then the WA doesn't give you that! it takes it away.}
That's fine because at the end of transition all the 'sovereignty goodness' will return to the UK and gives a strong impetus to negotiating properly.
Then it can be handed to the USA to play with.

You know Brexit is going badly when 'The Now Show' R4 Friday evening, is starting to sound like a documentary.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/03/2019 21:02

I have a very addled exhausted brain today. Has anyone see anything of May today?

PestyMachtubernahme · 18/03/2019 21:10

Red love the John Bull post.

OYBK good point, where's May?

HateIsNotGood · 18/03/2019 21:13

RTB I'm not sure what 'organiztion of toads' you think Cummins was in charge of - he was a paid 'contractor' charged with conducting a campaign to urge voters to vote Leave. He also happened to think that the UK Leaving the EU is a good thing. He might still.

If he had thought differently maybe he would have been engaged by the Remain campaign and done an equally good job for them.

None of it were his toads, monkeys or circuses beyond his own personal vote - the whole thing is 'ours', whichever way we voted, or didn't vote.

I see clerc is just really reduced to basic Brit-bashing - no interest at all in the UK, already 'checked out' - just basically calling the UK stupid over and over, including the Remainers. But you have lapped up his/her bullshit for months, as it fit with Remain rhetoric.

TheABC · 18/03/2019 21:13

@OYBK. May is on the tea and aspirin whilst stroking a fluffy white cat and thinking "Fuck it all".

We will probably find out the next set of Cabinet shenanigans by Wednesday.

dreichuplands · 18/03/2019 21:17

I like Mumsnet it helps pass time while Trump creates new ways to delay people getting work permits and the transfer of qualifications jumps through another hurdle.

I'm quite shallow really so I find plenty in it to amuse myself. I don't expect everyone to agree with me about everything on this thread or any other.

Sostenueto · 18/03/2019 21:30

Certain education threads have been really good! I have a lot of cyber friends from one of them but we emigrated to another platform because mn was full of trolls etc. We have proper privacy now and we have been together for nearly 4 years.
I used to play a game for several years real time strategy, and had players worldwide in our group. Some Aussies came to Britain and the UK contingency met them and we spent a week together. I'm still in touch with them though I don't play anymore. The Aussies went worldwide meeting our american, Japanese,Canadian and German groups.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/03/2019 21:31

Leclerc isn't the only one calling the UK's behaviour stupid.
Most of us here have, repeatedly
To be exact, the behavious of Uk MPs, the ERH, the DUP, the cabinet and especially the PM

The UK used to be well respected, especially within the EU.
It used to be a matter of quiet pride abroad, when asked your nationality, to say "British"
Now it's cringeworthy

Brexit has made the UK a global laughing stock

Whips are tonight alarmed about this exchange involving John Bercow

The Speaker hints he could enable votes on Brexit alternatives such as Customs Union by allowing neutral motions to be amended so they are substantive

I don't live in France.

I think the majority of the elected govt of the UK have shown themselves to be venal, self serving, disaster capitalist, mimsy, quisling fucks.

To the tower with me!

yolofish · 18/03/2019 21:36

oh I am so confuzzled, my head hurts, is it too late to just scream 'revoke you fuckers'??

OublietteBravo · 18/03/2019 21:36

I like the Style & Beauty, Exercise and Housekeeping bits of MN -plus the epic Eurovision threads.- I’ve made several RL friends from MN over the years.

Littlespaces · 18/03/2019 21:37

I don't think they would listen.

Littlespaces · 18/03/2019 21:37

We are going to bomb at Eurovision.

Nil points!

OublietteBravo · 18/03/2019 21:37

Oh, and OYBBK’s weather threads Smile

Kaboodler · 18/03/2019 21:39

To the tower with me!

It'll be pretty crowded if everyone who thinks the govt are quisling fucks are banished there.

67chevvyimpala · 18/03/2019 21:39

True.

It be fun though:)

OublietteBravo · 18/03/2019 21:40

We’re definitely going to bomb at Eurovision. Politics are against us more than ever, and we have a very beige song.

TalkinPaece · 18/03/2019 21:41

Aaaah, Eurovision Grin

TheMostBoringPersonEver · 18/03/2019 21:42

WAIB is what?

Littlespaces · 18/03/2019 21:42

I haven't heard the song, but it could be The Beatles at the height of their fame and we would still end up with nil points.

TatianaLarina · 18/03/2019 21:45

Leaver or remainer, the WA is a terrible bill and it needs to be killed off, if you voted brexit because of sovereignty, then the WA doesn't give you that! it takes it away.

Yep.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/03/2019 21:45

WAIB (Withdrawal Agreement Implementation Bill) is the associated enabling legislation required for the WA.
The WA won't work - for the UK at least - without it
