The HoC has spend the past 3 years in a state of Neglectful Drunkeness.

As it stands less then two weeks from Brexit Day, there is no deal we were promised. The Conservative and Labour Parties are more divided than ever.

The government is in disarray as 8 Cabinet ministers plus the chief whip voted against the Prime Minister including the Brexit Secretary who had minutes earlier argued for an extension only to vote against it. He is now on the brink of resignation.

The DUP look like they may be about to capitulate and vote for a deal. But it may not be enough even then.

This is what the cliff edge looks like.

One reason i voted to remain is because i didn't think it possible to extract the UK from 40 years of integration in only 2 years, especially as very early on in the shite show, it became v clear you people had no plan or idea what you would do (rather than dream) if you won.

The EU is noticeably pushing the WA as hard as it can

• e.g. offering a CC with modified end date - because it's the only deal there is, unless the UK drops red lines - which the HoC is nowhere near agreeing

And we have almost run out of time to avoid No Deal.

They would be happy if we choose the SM later, but they want to get a WA through with the A50 housekeeping requirements satisfied
and then negotiate the future trade relationship in transition.

Many reportedly no longer even want the UK to Remain, after the last several years being deliberately obstructive.

The EU probably dreads trying to negotiate anything else with the disfunctional shower in either party.
They have already invested 2 years in this Brexshit and want to move on

Renegotiating would mean changing the PD, not the WA itself - unless the Uk wants to improve expat rights
The backstop would remain, because they don't trust this or any future UK govt

Whatever we end up with will mean years of negotiation in transition
Negotiating something else means 1 / 2 / xx years more before we even get to that stage
