Vote 12th March: Meaningful Vote on the Withdrawal Agreement

Vote 13th March: If WA fails, vote on No Deal

Vote 14th March: If WA fails, vote on A50 extension

Not much more to add at this stage that's not repeating what's been said before.

@Cailleach1 fucking hell, that's beyond words. I'm ashamed to be British at times.

lljkk · 10/03/2019 20:35

The full writeup about psychological diffs betw remain & leave voters is a good browse. Was insightful for me. The huge difference I picked up on is preference for authoritarianism (among Leave voters). More deductive reasoning among Remainers. The personality profiling explains a lot.

Local elections are on 2 May. We counters are scheduled to count overnight which is not usual for local elections. 6 weeks before 2nd May is 21 March. TickTockTickTockTickTock....

PestyMachtubernahme · 10/03/2019 20:40

Why don't we have a deputy prime minister at the moment?
What happens if TM has a full diabetic moments?

news.sky.com/story/porn-websites-to-check-uk-users-ages-as-law-passes-11604331 and how is this one going to work?

bellinisurge · 10/03/2019 20:59

What on Earth is a "full diabetic moment " ffs? I don't care how dreadful she is, you can cut that out.

TalkinPaece · 10/03/2019 21:03

Pesty
She's got Type 1 Diabetes not the plague. If she starts to go hypo, one of her assistants gives her a cup of sweet tea.
Have you never had to pull a diabetic back round ?

BigChocFrenzy · 10/03/2019 21:09

Our problem is not that she goes hypo
but that she - or a minister - goes psycho

TalkinPaece · 10/03/2019 21:12

That happened years ago
TM is a Xenophobic Racist
she may have campaigned for remain but she has always hated foreigners

BigChocFrenzy · 10/03/2019 21:12

The post of Deputy PM is v useful though, imo

In the event of sudden death / incapacity
e.g. heart attack during a national emergency

or losing the party leadership
e.g. if that had happened in December

Arborea · 10/03/2019 21:20

Delurking briefly to wave a cheerily snowy Pennine hello to QueenOfThorns, SparklySneakers, bellinisurge and Grinchly - looks like we could have quite a Bollocks to Brexit party/wake if we need to keep morale up!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/03/2019 21:34

I've lost my air of serenity today. It happened when I mislaid a block of cheddar that should be in the freezer. I then realised how totally unprepared I am, and all I have to do is look after two/three people. The 29th is so close.

TatianaLarina · 10/03/2019 21:35

I think the public needs to see very clearly that even though the ticking clock may have reduced the majority against Mrs May’s deal from the stratospheric level 230 of January, it continues to lack the parliamentary support needed to go through.

I agree with them. I’ve always opposed this amendment.

QueenOfThorns · 10/03/2019 21:36

Hi Arborea, a wake sounds about right, unfortunately, but at least we’ll have like-minded types to drown our sorrows with!

Tonsilss · 10/03/2019 22:00

We really don't know how much we should be stockpiling. It's how long is a piece of string. And if there are serious petrol shortages surely we're looking at a major national breakdown. Are people stockpiling petrol?

prettybird · 10/03/2019 22:12

Tonsilss - there are quite a few of us who are going to make sure to fill up w/c 25 March Grin

At least living in Glasgow as I do, I can try to avoid using the car as we have lots of public transport alternatives, plus I cycle. Bike

SparklySneakers · 10/03/2019 22:16

I'm so anxious about Tuesday. Will it be a televised vote around 7pm? Not sure I could bear to watch.

Sostenueto · 10/03/2019 22:16

Blooming hope no one is stockpiling petrol. Can imagine the fire brigade may have something to say about that! That's too dangerous a thing to do.Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2019 22:17

You might fall into a pot hole in the city centre and never be seen again, pretty!

You're lucky with your transport options there; it's one of the easiest cities I've lived in for getting about.

LonelyandTiredandLow · 10/03/2019 22:18

lljkk v. interesting research! I found this insightful
Both voting groups were less likely to agree with statements which were intended to challenge their beliefs. When comparing effect sizes, Leave voters displayed greater differences between the two experimental positions and therefore appear to be more susceptible to ideologically motivated reasoning.

Explains belief in unicorns. Also why they think UK is so great alone when added to the nationalism.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2019 22:19

You'd officially be certifiable if you stockpile petrol! I hope none of my neighbours have a death wish in that fashion!

LonelyandTiredandLow · 10/03/2019 22:21

I think i'm cracking - ordered a last minute tabletop freezer online today.

Intend to stack frying steaks within. We don't eat much meat other than chicken, but if beef is hard to come by we'll have a good stock.

It's not just availability i'm worried about, it's price and regulations.

SwedishEdith · 10/03/2019 22:21

Christ, don't stockpile petrol!

Sorry, DM link but looked quickly. Tory minister's advice led to this horror.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2122500/Fuel-crisis-Francis-Maude-urged-quit-Diane-Hill-suffers-40-burns-decanting-petrol.html

Tonsilss · 10/03/2019 22:41

My car only holds 30 litres, and it's our only car.
Petrol is dangerous. But that woman took a jerrycan into the kitchen where the gas hob was lit, and poured petrol from the can into a jug. That really is madness.

LonelyandTiredandLow · 10/03/2019 22:44

Interestingly BBC 'explainer' on tariffs doesn't mention WTO sanctions, regulations or boarders...bit late explaining these now.

Cherrypi · 10/03/2019 22:46

Interesting to see dark money Facebook adverts mentioned in the news. Who do you think is funding them?

GD12 · 10/03/2019 23:00

Is May about to pull the vote this week and replace it with a vote on what Parliament wants from the EU?! WTF?!
