WA or No Deal?

Asked this on a few Brexit threads and didn't get an answer so asking it separately.
Bored of listening to bad winners whining about Juncker and evil EU and all that tedious bollocks. It's come down to this binary question and which is it.
As someone who voted Remain, I prefer shit deal over no Deal.
No Deal would be a humanitarian catastrophe.
Which is it for you?

By stockpiling your own medicine your actually creating a self forfilling prophesy..
Marmitegate comes to mind... The shops are not going to tell you not to spend £500 on extra food over 3 months... Even if you end up chucking £250 of it away afterwards...

Buteo · 04/01/2019 21:18

The point of the minister for food is surely to ensure there is food post exit, or they are not doing the job!

And how will they magic up food supplies when Kent is gridlocked, customs are backed up for days, Ramsgate’s non-existent ships have failed to materialise?

Plenty of Tory ministers that are currently proving to be unfailingly incompetent.

Mistigri · 04/01/2019 21:19

Most functioning first world democracies don't need a "minister for food".

Why do you think the UK has one?

Fuck me it's like arguing with yoghurt.

mummmy2017 · 04/01/2019 21:21

This year have been forced to move house..
Lose of income. Due to economy.
I have suffered but I want change, the last 5 years have got worse and worse... What was has not worked... Change can be no worse.... Change is needed all over the UK and Brexit seems to be the only way to make it happen.

mummmy2017 · 04/01/2019 21:25

Ur. Minister for food is due to new import regulation, Minster for new import laws just doesn't sound so scary for the press to write about.

pointythings · 04/01/2019 21:25

Change can be no worse

Oh it can get a whole lot worse than this. If you think it can't, you've been living in la-la land. Brexit hasn't happened yet and things are mostly ticking along - but with no deal the shit will really hit the fan and guess who will get splatted? Not the folks in Westminster.

durgha · 04/01/2019 21:27

mummy2017. I could be wrong. Maybe the research funding streams will be turned on shortly. Maybe the EU folks will come back on the non existent boats. Maybe the commonwealth countries will be cock a hoop about trade deals with us, eventually. Maybe the Donald will squeeze the chlorine out of the chickens before we have to feed them to our kids, and NHS privatisation will work out in the long run. That will be beezer.
But what if you're wrong?

jasjas1973 · 04/01/2019 21:28

Oh dear! change... it can't be worse... well actually it really can.

UK Gov fcuks you over but you blame the EU, putting all your eggs in the Gov that fcuked you over, hoping they'll will now be your bestie.

Mistigri · 04/01/2019 21:29

Minister for food is due to new import regulation

And why is there a new "import regulation"? I'm sat here a short distance across the English Channel, wondering why you guys need a minister for food and we don't. What could possibly be the difference?

jasjas1973 · 04/01/2019 21:32

The only change i want is an end to universal suffrage, its very clear not everyone should be able to vote.

durgha · 04/01/2019 21:34

If this is what has happened to you mummy2017, than you have my sympathy and a big hug. But I don't think Brexit will sort out your troubles. More likely to add to them. Don't disagree with your yearning for change. x

durgha · 04/01/2019 21:42

jasjas I'm an old gimmer. I want politics, ethics and debate taught at school.

Buteo · 04/01/2019 21:43

So Rutley appointed because of “new import regulation” - but only because new import regulations would only be due to Brexit). His job descrIption is specifically “EU exit readiness oversight”.

bellinisurge · 04/01/2019 21:45

@mummmy2017 - you've had some bad shit. So you think the answer is to turn everything else to shit. That's nihilism.

mummmy2017 · 04/01/2019 21:46

Durgha it has... And at times I could cry, along with deaths of loved ones...
Change is needed here and change can only happen when some major events on the world stage happen... BREXIT is a catalyst for this change, we voted for it knowingly...
Sorry I know it is not what you want, but millions of us do want it, with a deep desire.....

bellinisurge · 04/01/2019 21:50

No @mummmy2017 you want chaos and misery for everyone because you've had it. That's not a healthy way of thinking.

jasjas1973 · 04/01/2019 21:51

Still no answers on why you believe the Gov will source sufficient meds?

durgha · 04/01/2019 22:03

mummy2017, I'm a bit of a soft touch, so if you are taking the piss, well, well done you. Big laughs. No water off my old back.
If you're not happy with the status quo, why not put a bit of welly into what is pissing you off locally, whether it's relationships or work? If you are being truthful, your world has been turned upside down, but why would you wish for more of it? Millions of us, including you and me want peace and kindness, no?

mummmy2017 · 04/01/2019 22:06

They will source it because that is their job.

I held this view a long time ago...
I voted before most of this happened.
Do I blame brexit? Brexit did not cause the deaths.
Other EU nations are not leaving they have financial problems...
If anything it makes me more certain I voted the right way...

nuttynutjob · 04/01/2019 22:08

Well there's bread now because there's no snow.

A no deal means we don't have Deals in place and we don't know how long it would take.

Anyway, when we have No Deal and the door supply gets disrupted, feel free to come back here and tell us how well you're doing

nuttynutjob · 04/01/2019 22:09

Door=food

mummmy2017 · 04/01/2019 22:12

Durgha I am not young, and yes I go out of my way to help people...
I try to keep a smile on my face, but I really do truly believe we can and will profit out of the EU... I am not stupid, I feel no need to supply answers as to how the government will sort things, but nor am I willing to accept that they can't be solved.

jasjas1973 · 04/01/2019 22:13

They will source it because that is their job

Blind faith then! you really are incredibly naive.

Its the health sec 's job to make sure old people get proper care, people dont wait on trolleys or in ambulances at AE or that MH patients don't die through lack of care.... still happens and he is still in his job.
Transport sec to make sure trains run on time.......

1tisILeClerc · 04/01/2019 22:18

{Other EU nations are not leaving they have financial problems... }
Yes, but they are working with their friends in the EU to resolve them but you need to bear in mind that the EU does not control an individual countries budget.
The UK governments over the years spend unwisely, on 'vanity projects' such as HS2 rather than looking after it's citizens. Brexit will make the problem worse not better as there has been NO attempt to sort out shortage of decent homes, regeneration of areas where traditional industry has died out and proper maintenance of the NHS. Brexit is simply wasting billions, trashing the good industries in the UK and taking it further away from being possible to improve citizens lives.

Buteo · 04/01/2019 22:20

Transport sec to make sure trains run on time...

And apparently to give £14 million contracts to companies that have nicked their Ts&Cs from fast food delivery companies and jewellery stores Hmm

Due diligence my arse.
