There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

Well, quite. But as Ian Dunt pointed out a couple of days ago, the whole point of the backstop is the Brexiteers swore that all those little problems around customs, ports and borders were going to be solved with a bit of magical technology, so if they're sore now they're admitting they were lying their heads off.

Rosehip10 · 15/11/2018 11:11

May is on a bonfire.

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:12

Beth Rigby @BethRigby
Resignation watch Understand that Leadsom is not resigning before business questions (after May statement). But she said on camera today there is still ‘some time’ before the EUCO. That sounds very non-committal to me > like Mordaunt, still weighing up options

OMG 😞 The man sobbing on LBC because he voted leave & regrets it. How sad 😢😢😢 I’m crying too now. What a fucking mess.

DarlingNikita · 15/11/2018 11:13

The man sobbing on LBC because he voted leave & regrets it

I gave up having sympathy for any fucker who voted Leave a long time ago.

DGRossetti · 15/11/2018 11:13

Leadsom and Mordant ... I can just see them prowling around refusing to take their eyes off each other.

Rosehip10 · 15/11/2018 11:14

The country is going to hell but hey the main issues of the day are "what do you think of the John Lewis Christmas advert?"

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:15

Every time Redwood speaks I think he's the worst and most stupid Tory MP there is.

Until another one speaks and reminds me, that he fits right in.

Tom Newton Dunn@tnewtondunn (Sun)

Extraordinary scenes in the Commons.
John Redwood getting shouted down by his own Tory MP colleagues,
almost every Labour MP standing to be called for a question.

I’m with you talking I feel so sorry for him. He was lied to. I’m angry with the liers not the lied to. Poor Bill, I think there’s a lot of people like him.
They deserve kindness, it’s so hard to admit you are wrong.

Hello, I can't not watch the car crash this morning and need some company (I posted on Westministenders ages ago and then real life and depression got in the way...)

Of course, McVey probably needed to go early because of her total cock up of Universal credit which has left her career in tatters anyway.

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:17

George. The only man in the country, truly loving every second of Brexit.

What are the chances of Redwood becoming PM
If he gets to the last 2 and it goes to the Tory members ...

by which time it may be only a couple of months until we crash out anyway

Sarah Vine @WestminsterWAG
On the whole quite a lot of willy waving going on this morning #BrexitDeal

Mikey would never do this of course.

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 11:19

Yes, Cameron can't gloat, because historians and least will name him the worst UK PM ever,
because he caused all this
maybe even UK breakup and crash into a failed state

DarlingNikita · 15/11/2018 11:20

Yeah, my heart bleeds Hmm

Loving the Evening Standard Grin

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:20

Ah it seems Sarah's tweet from yesterday. I wonder how well it will age.

Apparently the UN are publishing their preliminary findings on poverty in the UK tomorrow. Should be headline news but it won't be. So many shocking ministers not being held to account because of brexit.

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:22

Rory Stewart @RoryStewartUK
Prime-Minister is being impressively calm and steady - holding the voice of realism and economic stability - in the Commons now with dozens of voices pushing for no plan and no deal - #respect

You gotta love Rory.

PineappleSunrise · 15/11/2018 11:23

Well, she's essentially been doing that for months now.

prettybird · 15/11/2018 11:23

For those that try to defend Corbyn, listen to May crowing now that there was an overwhelming vote in parliament in favour of invoking A50. Angry

That's what he allowed her to do, in imposing the three line whip on Labour MPs Angry

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:24

Faisal Islam @faisalislam

Not going well for PM.

“PM clearly doesn’t listen” says Nigel Dodds, Westminster leader of the DUP, whose votes kept her in Downing Street who signed the Confidence & Supply Deal. “We stand up for UK or we vote for a vassal state and the break up of the UK”.

Beth Rigby @BethRigby
Seems that confidence and supply deal with the DUP is over. May running a minority govt (for) now
