There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

Rory putting his head up PMs arse now cabinet post offered.

With the concept of 'A good day to bury bad news' I wonder what else is going on?
Is one of them sat in a corner Telexing Trump to sign up to being a smaller poodle?

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:24

Mogg just directly refered to Graham Brady to May's face in the Commons

Cherrypi · 15/11/2018 11:25

Everyone was quiet when Mogg spoke.

DaffoDeffo · 15/11/2018 11:26

I hope she goes today

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:26

David Allen Green @davidallengreen
The three choices are:

- this deal (as these are the EU's offered terms) and there is not much room for amendment; or

- no deal; or

- extension or revocation of A50.

There is no other realistic option (including my preference for Brexit-by-treaty, sadly).

It's decision time.

Rees-Mogg’s hand hovers over detanator, asking May why he shouldn’t write to the 1922 to trigger a no confidence vote 💥 💥 💥

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 11:27

On 27 Nov the ECJ start considering if A50 can be unilaterally revoked
That's Tuesday in one week

WIll they take weeks
Will they reserve judgement

Even if there is a leadership contest, May would probably try to delay it until she has the ECJ verdict

  • it gives her a nuclear weapon against the ERG and she has very few other weapons

@YvetteCooperMP asks about the Schengen Information System 2, an absolutely critical information sharing database.

May: “Those will be matters we take forward in the negotiations”

Very ominous indeed: v important for law enforcement

because - like a GE - it would not produce a clear winner.

Rees-Mogg: WOW. Asks May directly whether he should tender his letter for a confidence vote to the chair of the 1922 committee 💥💥💥💥
Goodness me; if JRM does tender his letter to Graham Brady for a confidence vote that surely a signal for ERG to follow and the vote is on.

Tory Mark Francois now saying everyone will vote against the deal. Its mathematically impossible to get through parliament.

And pleads with her to accept the political reality of the situation she finds herself in.

Very very direct...

^If you're not watching the Commons now you really should be. It is historic stuff. The prime minister is minute by minute losing any support.

I can't think of a single moment where a PM has looked more alone.

I have work to do, but the implosion of the Tory party is compelling viewing.
